Friday Family Night Program
Health Halaqa: Kidney Health Dr. Suhail Ahmad , Professor Emeritus at UW and former Medical Director, Chief Medical Officer of theDialysis Centers will continue the MAPS-MHP series on Health Friday, March 24th at 7:30 PM after Maghrib prayers in the MPR room at MAPS. Dr. Ahmad will discuss the basics of kidney disease and preventative measures. The topic is one that concerns us all. The session is free and open to the public. Please make it a priority to attend.
Both Kidney Disease and High Blood Pressures are very common in US, Affecting 1 in 8 and 1 in 3 adults, respectively. Dr. Ahmad will discuss the basics of kidney disease, how to protect your kidneys and how prevent further damage if you have kidney disease. He will also briefly discuss the problem of high blood pressure and how to control it.

The City of Redmond is offering a one day training in personal preparedness and certification in First Aid and CPR. Space is limited. If you are interested in attending, please let us know immediately by contacting mapsreadycommittee@mapsredmond.org. Include your full name, email, phone number, and if you require any special accommodations. The Board will cover the cost of this training for a limited number of MAPS members on a first come, first serve basis.- Date: Saturday, April 8, 2017
- Time: Check-in begins at 8:30am, class is from 9:00 am - 4:00 pm
- Location: Fire Station 17, 16917 NE 116th ST, Redmond WA 98052
- Bring a brownbag lunch as we work through the lunch hour.
- American Heart Association Heartsaver CPR and First Aid certification cards will be distributed in class
Information tables and vendors covering various aspects of preparedness and volunteer opportunities will be available.

- Public Relations (working with other groups, making group comfortable for existing and new members, etc), led by Aiya Siddig
- Event Planning (help organizing volunteering events, discussion topics, etc) led by Haykal Mubin
- Advertising (Utilizing social media, tabling and other methods to advertise for the youth group) led by Habiba Youssef
If you wish to join any group (limited to one per quarter), please message me. Future leaders will be chosen based on their work in previous quarters.
