LINK BETWEEN CANCER AND YOUR DOG'S SIZE & COLOR

Healthy Pets.com has published an article by Dr. Karen Becker on a link between cancer and your dog's size and color.

Here are some key take-aways:
  • Cancer is the leading cause of death in US dogs and genetics play an important role in its development
  • With pure bred dogs, the gene pool is relatively small, making it easier for a predisposition to cancer to be passed from generation to generation.
  • Scientists believe there are multiple genes involved in the development of canine cancer including  those for size and coat color.
