The fiery ordeal

Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal among you, which comes upon you for your testing, as though some strange thing were happening to you; but to the degree that you share the sufferings of Christ, keep on rejoicing, so that also at the revelation of His glory you may rejoice with exultation. If you are reviled for the name of Christ, you are blessed, because the Spirit of glory and of God rests on you. -1 Peter 4:12-14

 Judgment & Persecution

Ed Note: This alert concerns the epic rise in persecution, mainly from Muslims in the Middle East (but also occurring in the West) for a multitude of reasons, some of which the blame rests squarely on our own governments and military actions including ourselves. My prayer is that this can be used as tool for fellowship, encouragement, teaching and prayer concerning these current events.

Make sure that none of you suffers as a murderer, or thief, or evildoer, or a troublesome meddler; but if anyone suffers as a Christian, he is not to be ashamed, but is to glorify God in this name. For it is time for judgment to begin with the household of God; and if it begins with us first, what will be the outcome for those who do not obey the gospel of God? AND IF IT IS WITH DIFFICULTY THAT THE RIGHTEOUS IS SAVED, WHAT WILL BECOME OF THE GODLESS MAN AND THE SINNER ? Therefore, those also who suffer according to the will of God shall entrust their souls to a faithful Creator in doing what is right.

- 1 Peter 4:12-19

There are two important considerations that need to be made regarding the film Innocence of Muslims and the Islamist response 'contrived' by Washington in an attempt to cover up the pathetic inadequacy of security at the Benghazi consulate which resulted in instigating and fueling an actual Muslim response around the world.

First, judgment begins in the household of God. Within the church, there is much hatred of Muslims these days (I can compassionately understand those who have literally faced their wrath), but I have a hard time envisioning the martyrs of old reacting in a way many of today's believers are. Here we can apply Matthew 24:12, love (agape) of the saints growing cold. Yes, theirs is a false-religion heading straight to an eternity in hell and one that breeds every sort of demonic infested violence on earth now. The fruit of this is evident across the globe. However, God will hold us accountable first for forgetting truth:

For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore, take up the full armor of God, so that you will be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm.

- Ephesians 6:12-13

There is a holy and righteous anger, and that anger should not be directed at a lost deceived people, but rather at what is manipulating, employing and exploiting them, the same that is manipulating and exploiting the spiritually poor and uneducated around the world, as they do in our own countries (something Jesus despised). This influence of "the deep things of Satan" is in our churches, and it has a hold on our governments, media, educational and economic institutions et al., at the behest of Mystery Babylon (the great harlot), for power, control and profit making and profit taking. (Honestly, I think one of the biggest reasons much of the true church is asleep on this is because many have their hands and hearts in the pot - focused on financial profits of the markets and marketplace rather than God's prophets.) Additionally there is the beast system, which the harlot is riding and has control over now, but when the antichrist comes to power, he will destroy her, "executing God's purpose" (Rev 17:16-17).

What is most difficult in this current state of global deception, false reports and confusion is to take the concrete concepts of Scripture and apply them to the 'real world' such as to discern between "who is who" as this evil beast and rider tramples many to death. This is where we must be patient to wait on the LORD to reveal through His word "as knowledge increases".

However, it is still the time of the great commission of the church - to be salt and light in the world by spreading the gospel, not those who breed needless discontent and certainly not instigators of violence. It is one thing when confronted with the pure truth of the gospel that the hearers may be "cut to the quick" and attack and kill the preacher as they did Stephen in Acts 7. However, this is not what we are seeing with false evangelism just as with the many false discernment ministries out there. Just as with Rick Warren's ridiculous trip to Syria being of the Serpent, this movie is by no means a good tool for refuting Islam as some have suggested and has become a tool of the Serpent and the Dragon. There may be truths in it regarding Islam, but its hideous production and use does nothing for the cause of Christ and everything for the cause of Islam. I think any believer would concur that a film about the Roman Catholic Church and its many child molesting priests would not be a good witness to those deceived by Rome or to the world if it was a poor production verging on mockery, even if it contained many truths, how much more to those deceived by Islam?

Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal among you, which comes upon you for your testing, as though some strange thing were happening to you; ... Make sure that none of you suffers as a murderer, or thief, or evildoer, or a troublesome meddler;

- 1 Peter 4:12 &15

[See 5 Questions at end of this article for an example of a "good witness"]

We are seeing more and more believers suffering because they are evildoers and troublesome meddlers - then other believers suffer even more so, because of the previous ones actions. Why are not more watchman taking note and reporting on this? Could it be that it involves the "detested" Muslims? (See another example here in the US where Muslims and police are clearly in the wrong -- but they are not saved! The Christians are instigating - there is nothing Scriptural about their actions, ... this is puffed up, arrogant, American pride! Not a display of the gospel [and note the article does not give this analysis]). If it is not the Muslims, feel free to add your most favorite hated group, perhaps "Liberal Democrats" if you live in the United States.

This goes hand and hand with the issue of our US/NATO military apparatus becoming enemy number one of the church in the Middle East in the last 10 to 15 years. I am sure a number of Patriotic Americans would hate me for saying this but the facts are the facts and every place the US alliance and her proxies have set foot the church has been sent running for their lives - if they are still alive.

Second, the unquestioning response of the media follows a godless pattern which has so given itself over to the causes of non therapeutic abortion, the homosexual agenda, the destruction of Judeo-Christian beliefs, ethics and the family that they have become willing to edit, cut, distort and even outright lie in order to support their causes and destroy their opponents. This has been going on for years and occurs on both sides of the political aisle but has gained tremendous momentum in the last few years in America with so much of the media sold out to supporting the Obama Administration. Additionally, the left with their antichrist agenda have clearly had the upper hand when it has come to 'crafting' the overall media narrative. This is not reporting but distorting and purposeful misinformation with an agenda.

[What indeed trumps this is what is happening in the Evangelical church with "cut & paste" hermeneutics by none other than the above mentioned, "America's Pastor", Rick Warren using his verse translocation method to deceive the elect. This topic is covered by Jacob Prasch in a sermon called The Plastic Bible.]

For at least two weeks after the September 11, 2012 attacks that killed four Americans in Libya followed by Islamic mayhem around the globe nearly all the media except perhaps Fox News and a few other Conservative, Israeli and Christian outlets followed without question the spin coming from The White House. This continued even when numerous and legitimate questions were immediately raised by legitimate sources. This is what it means to follow the narrative rather than to just report a story factually. Following the narrative is modern newspeak for lying, a.k.a. propaganda.

One of the most disturbing trends of the day that should not surprise me - yet still does - is the lack of many Americans to think beyond the propaganda fed to them from the media (or even question that it happens).

Propaganda: propaganda (n)

1.       The systematic propagation [promotion] of a doctrine or cause or of information reflecting the views and interests of those advocating such a doctrine or cause.

2.       Material disseminated by the advocates or opponents of a doctrine or cause: wartime propaganda. [1]

(I would highly suggest reading the full definition and origin of this word, as it is gives great incite)

The latest regarding the filmmaker, a man named Nakoula Basseley Nakoula, is that he is a Coptic Christian (at least according to US Media - see below for further info) that used a Jewish pseudonym. Previously convicted of a laundry list of financial crimes he is now being held for violation of the condition of his probation in a Federal Prison in Los Angeles for uploading this video to You Tube. However, one has to wonder at the convenience of this particular "violation" in locking him up in the likelihood that he had been violating the conditions of his probation for quite some time while involved in this film according to news reports. In America, we have developed into pragmatic law enforcement where it is not necessarily justice that matters, only that there is someone to "lock up" when enough people scream loudly.

While one reaps what they sow, my point is that this once great beacon of freedom has become corrupt, a corrupter, and rotten to the core. God have mercy on the believing remnant when judgment comes on America.

The Drudge Report, one of the biggest news aggregator sites on the web, and certainly, the most popular politically "Conservative" posted this headline across its site Saturday September 15th:

"FEDS INVESTIGATE CHRISTIAN FILMMAKER"

Nice kick to the gut for believers, many of which are conservative in their political leanings and many of whom will likely vote for Mitt Romney come this November, the candidate Drudge has openly vied for.

But we should expect this? The scapegoating of Christians, whether it is those "in name only" or true believers has already begun and it will continue to increase manifold as they bare brunt of blame for the world's ills along with Jews.

What is most disturbing is that our blamer and chief, Barack Obama, who has saw fit to spend his entire presidency blaming George W. Bush, the Republicans, the TEA Party, and the rich for every and anything that did not go his way has now turned the blame on America, specifically "Christian America" and a film rather than his own ineptitude. This is the man, we can recall, many were calling a "messiah" back in 2008.

However, there is yet another angle to this. Walid Shoebat writes how the film and the lies surrounding it have all marks of Pallywood terrorist propaganda and that it is a jihadist weapon being used against the West. The article is below and I will let you consider and make the decision.

In conclusion, we have reached a point were Christianity is about to be eradicated from most of the Middle East with the help of the one country that did the most in the last few hundred years to spread the gospel, that is the United States. At the same time, within prophecy and discernment circles in the West there seems to be endless discord, fruitless discussion and wrangling about of words, not because someone is wrestling with an issue or concerned about sin or deception, but there is a spirit of arrogance and a loss of love (agape). Churches are falling apart, the shepherds are out for themselves, deceived, and there is betrayal among the sheep. The Lord will not stand for this long. Judah has grown worse than Israel.

Where is there safety for believers? Two sermons I highly recommend by Jacob Prasch regarding this are: "Egypt, Babylon, & the Palm of God" What are the options for the faithful remnant in the Last Days? Previous biblical examples provide a picture of what it will be like for Believers, and Principles of Persecution.

Anti-Islam movie was not reason for attack on US Embassy

Barack Hussein Obama
THE DAILY JOT (Daily reporting and analysis of current events from a biblical and prophetic perspective) - By Bill Wilson - October 10, 2012
There is no other way to put it: The White House lied to the American people that an anti-Islamic movie so angered Libyans that they stormed our Embassy in Benghazi, and killed the US Ambassador and some of his staff. It was a terrorist attack. On September 20, the occupant of the Oval Office said that "extremists" used an anti-Islam video as an excuse to attack the US consulate. Speaking at a candidate forum on the Spanish-language network Univision, he said: "What we do know is that the natural protests that arose because of the outrage over the video were used as an excuse by extremists to see if they can also directly harm U.S. interests." Now the State Department says there was no protest.

AP now reports that State Department officials confirm that, "All was quiet outside the US Consulate as evening fell on Benghazi...There was no indication of the harrowing events that night would bring: assailants storming the compound and setting its buildings aflame, American security agents taking fire across more than a mile of the city, the ambassador and three employees killed and others forced into a daring car escape against traffic." AP concludes: "The account answers some questions and leaves others unanswered. Chief among them is why for several days the Obama administration said the assault stemmed from a protest against an American-made Internet video ridiculing Islam..." No one is openly admitting it was al Qaeda.

Certainly, this is a touchy topic for the president. It was under his command that the US provided intelligence and air support to assist the Muslim Brotherhood-led rebels in overthrowing the Libyan government. Identified as part of the rebel coalition were longstanding leaders of al Qaeda. The Libyan rebel leader Abdel-Hakim al Hasidi admitted in an interview with the Italian newspaper II Sole 24 Ore that he had led al Qaeda terrorists against the US in Iraq. He also told the newspaper in March 2011 that his recruits in Libya were members of al Qaeda. The US supported this leader under another alias and US military brass danced around the al Qaeda question during Congressional hearings last year.

That the US president supported the same leadership in Libya under the banner of "democracy" that was trying to kill American troops in Iraq is grounds enough for impeachment. Yet, the news media and the politicians in Washington turn a blind eye to these documented facts. Now, it is obvious that the White House misled, if not outright lied to, the American people regarding the murder of our Ambassador in Libya. There is a lot of public relations spinning going on as if no one will recognize the lies. Romans 16:18 says, "For those who are such are not serving our Lord Yeshua The Messiah, but their own appetites, and by good words and fair speeches they deceive the hearts of the pure." Do not be deceived.

Islam is an antichrist religion:
Believe in Allah and say not "Trinity." Cease! It is better for you! Allah is only One God. Far is it removed from his transcendent majesty that he should have a son.
- (Quran, Sura 4:171)

Muslim Persecution of Christians: August, 2012
"We do not want infidels in this area"
Islam wants to take over the world
GATESTONE INSTITUTE - By Raymond Ibrahim - October 4, 2012

While many people are regularly persecuted by Islam's blasphemy law, one particular case made August headlines: a 14-year-old Christian girl in Pakistan, Rimsha Masih, was arrested, accused of burning pages of a Quran. Rioting Muslims destroyed Christian homes and churches, tore Bibles to pieces and broke crosses, while calling for the death penalty against her. Because this story made it to the mainstream media, widespread international condemnation caused Pakistani authorities to release her recently, not by annulling Pakistan's blasphemy law, but by finding loopholes, from characterizing the girl as retarded-Islamic law does not mandate punishment for blasphemers if they are retarded-to the unprecedented exposure of a Muslim cleric who framed her.

Because this incident prompted a widespread rampage against Pakistan's Christians, thousands have deserted their homes and are dispossessed. The Christians from Rimsha's neighborhood, including women and children, fled into the woods in fear of Muslim retribution, while others were evicted by their Muslim landlords. A few Christians sleeping overnight on the ground just miles away from Pakistani government buildings decided to build a church there and make it their permanent dwelling place. "Here it is not anybody's home, nobody's land. Let us live here in safety," said one. Another said: "We have cleared this place with our hands, and we have laid the first foundation of a small church here. Although this is a mere skeleton made of tree branches, this is the holy home of God. This should be respected."

Categorized by theme, August's batch of Muslim persecution of Christians around the world includes (but is not limited to) the following accounts, listed by theme and in country alphabetical order, not necessarily according to severity.

Jihad Killings and Christian Displacement

Iraq: What Carl Moeller, president of Open Doors, characterized as "religicide," continues unabated in the nation that was liberated by U.S. forces a decade ago: "Christians in cities like Baghdad and Mosul are gripped by terrorism. They are fleeing in droves. Today [August 16] it was reported that at least 20 people died in blasts and shootings across the country." Before the toppling of Saddam Hussein, Mosul was home to some 75,000 Christians, but now the number has dropped to around 25,000. Christian homes are set on fire, bombs placed in their cars; other Christian families are receiving letters threatening them to leave Iraq or be kidnapped or killed.

Ivory Coast: As part of the civil war, Muslim rebels "massacred hundreds and displaced tens of thousands" of predominantly Christian supporters of Laurent Gbagbo. Since the attack, when their homes were taken by rebels, some 5,000 predominantly Christian ethnic Guere have been forced to flee into the ungoverned, inhospitable bush, or to the Catholic mission in Duekoue. The priest there reported that the mission has also been threatened by "crowds of angry youths."

Mali: As many as 200,000 Christians are fleeing to Algeria and Mauritania, where they are seeking a safe haven from Islamic terrorists linked to al-Qaeda, who have become increasingly active in the northern regions of the nation.

Nigeria: The Islamic terrorist organization Boko Haram [Western Education is a Sin] continued its jihad [holy war] to purge north Nigeria of all Christians. In one instance, gunmen murdered a 57-year-old evangelist of a Pentecostal church. When threatened earlier, he had said "I leave everything in the hands of God."

Syria: Some 12,000 people were blockaded in the predominantly Christian town of Rableh by anti-government forces; they killed several people trying to leave and refused the entry of food and medical supplies. Government forces had reportedly driven out the opposition by August 24. Christians were also given an ultimatum to leave the nearby cities of Qusayr and Homs, which has been almost entirely cleansed of its 50,000-60,000 Christian population. The predominantly Christian part of Aleppo was also hit by heavy fighting earlier this month; and a car bomb was detonated in the predominantly Christian area of Jaramana, a suburb of Damascus, as "a crowd of faithful, families, elderly people, women and children, were heading to the cemetery to bury two young people who had died a day earlier, on August 27, also victims of an IED. Twelve died (other sources say as many as 27), including five children, and injuring more than 50 people." Further, "a family of Armenian Christians was found murdered, and all members of the family horribly decapitated."

Church Attacks

Azerbaijan: The highest appeals court upheld the decision to close Greater Grace Church, "the first religious community to be liquidated by a court since the country's harsh new religion law came into force in 2009." The church, registered since 1993, had provided a place for Christian worship and teaching for almost 20 years; and with a congregation of nearly 500, was one of the larger Protestant churches in the country.

Indonesia: Two churches were the latest to be forcibly closed in West Java: First, a "large tent" used for services by St. Johannes Baptista Church in Bogor was sealed off by authorities on August 7. The congregation had been using the tent since 2006 as a temporary location while they awaited a permit for a proper building, for which it had applied in 2000. Police threatened to "tear down" the tent if the Christians continued to use it; the church leader suspects the hostility is linked to the growth of the congregation, which now numbers around 500. Second, Batak Karo Protestant Church in Bandung was sealed off by protesters who claimed that the congregation had earlier agreed not to use the building, even though it now has all necessary permits to hold service. ...

Apostasy, Blasphemy, Proselytism

Egypt: A Christian man accused of defaming Islam was arrested after a complaint in which he was accused of posting opinions in Facebook which insulted Muhammad. Insults to Islam and the prophet are considered crimes in Egypt under Article 98(f) of the Penal Code, which states: "Confinement for a period of not less than six months and not exceeding five years... shall be the penalty inflicted on whoever makes use of religion in propagating, either by words, in writing, or in any other means, extreme ideas for the purpose of inciting strife, ridiculing or insulting a heavenly religion or a sect following it, or damaging national unity."

Pakistan: After a Pakistani flag with the name of "Allah" on it accidentally blew from a Christian's property to a Muslim's, the Muslim accused the Christian of deliberately trying to blaspheme the name of Allah. This accusation was advertised in the local mosques, and prompted enraged Muslims to threaten to burn down the homes of the 15 Christian families in the area. Also, a Christian pastor, who had preached among Muslims, some of whom showed interest in converting, was threatened and subsequently kidnapped. ...

Dhimmitude

[General Abuse, Debasement, and Suppression of Non-Muslims as "Tolerated" Citizens]

Egypt: The nation's jihad organizations dropped leaflets calling on Muslims to kill Christians wherever they found them. Coptic shop owners who sell Christian icons and statues received threatening letters. Muslim "gangs" plundered and kidnapped for ransom Christians. Islamists in the Constituent Assembly demanded that the Coptic Church's funds be placed under state financial control, a measure categorically rejected by Copts: the state in no way funds the Church, even though mosques are funded by taxpayers, including Christians. Condemning the proposal, the acting Patriarch of the Coptic Orthodox Church said the demand has only one meaning: "that Copts are clearly persecuted." Despite promising greater representation for Egypt's Copts, President Morsi broke his word and allowed only one Copt, a female, to represent the nation's 10-14% Christians in the newly formed Cabinet: "We had expected an increase in the representation of Copts especially after the number of ministries increased to 35. But the formation ignored all the known rights and concepts of citizenship," said the acting Patriarch: "It is not right that Copts get treated in this way." When Egypt's Constituent Assembly proposed a law to criminalize "forced labor, slavery, the trafficking of women and children, human organs, and the sex trade," from which Christians, especially females, would benefit, the Islamist party complained.

Iran: According to Mohabat News, authorities "raise[d] unsubstantiated charges" against five arrested converts to Christianity to "pressure" and "intimidate" them, including by falsely accusing them of desecrating the Quran, and holding them for indefinite periods. "Although their situation is still unclear six months after their arrest, there is no doubt that the Christians' only crime is related to their faith in Jesus Christ."

Pakistan: Eleven Christian student nurses were poisoned with mercury in their tea. It is believed that the Christian women were targeted as punishment for drinking tea while their Muslim colleagues were fasting during the month of Ramadan. And a 56-year-old Christian woman at the Karachi Press Club recounted how she and her family were enslaved and forced to work without pay, and tortured and beaten. Muslim "feudal lords" are threatening her and her extended family, with, among other charges, accusations of blasphemy: "Please protect us," they said. "We don't want to go back."

Saudi Arabia: The last of the 35 Ethiopian Christians held in detention since December after being arrested for holding a prayer meeting in a private home was deported home: "We have arrived home safe," one of the released said: "We believe that we are released as the result of the pressure exerted by ICC and others. The Saudi officials do not tolerate any religions other than Islam. They consider non-Muslims unbelievers. They are full of hatred towards non-Muslims."

Syria: A number of Melchite Greek Catholic priests, including the archbishop, fled to Lebanon after their offices were ransacked. According to Fides, "unidentified groups who want to feed a religious war and drag the Syrian population into sectarian conflicts" attacked the Christian area in the old quarter of Aleppo. A Byzantine Christian museum and an office of the Maronite Christian faith were also damaged.

Turkey: The chairman of Parliament's education committee is accusing the French government of "planting seeds of hate" with its move to include the Armenian genocide in history and geography books used in French secondary schools. Armenia, backed by many historians, says that about 1.5 million Armenians were killed in what is now eastern Turkey during World War I in a deliberate policy of genocide ordered by the Ottoman government.

Uzbekistan: A 26-year-old Christian woman, paralyzed from youth, and her mother were violently attacked by six men with sticks who broke into their home at 4 a.m. The men ransacked the home, confiscating icons, bibles, religious calendars and prayer books. When the paralyzed woman furtively tried to phone for help, she was beaten again. They were all taken to the police department, where the woman was "offered to convert to Islam." She refused, and the judge eventually "decided that the women had resisted police and had stored the banned religious literature at home and conducted missionary activities. He fined them 20 minimum monthly wages each." ...

Ethnic Cleansing of Christians in the Sinai

GATESTONE INSTITUTE - By Khaled Abu Toameh - October 1, 2012
In events being ignored not only by the Egyptian authorities, but also by the mainstream media and human rights organizations in the West, Muslim terrorists have in recent weeks attacked Christian families and forced them out of their homes and businesses in the Sinai town of Rafah. The terrorists have threatened to pursue their jihad against Christians until all of them leave the Sinai.
According to reports from the Sinai, all the Christians who used to live in Rafah have already fled their homes after being targeted by Muslim terrorists.
Christians said that before the Egyptian "revolution," they enjoyed good relations with their Muslim neighbors and felt safer. But under Muslim Brotherhood President Mohamed Morsi, the Christians in the Sinai were being left alone to confront Muslim gangs by themselves.

Egyptian security forces finally began operating against the terrorists only after 16 border guards were killed several weeks ago, apparently by Muslim jihadis in Sinai. But these forces have not been able to protect the Christian families in Sinai, whose lives been turned into hell ever since the 'Arab Spring' arrived in Egypt.
The Egyptian newspaper Al-Yom Al-Sabe (The Seventh Day) revealed that the Christian families were forced to leave Rafah after Muslim terrorists torched the local church. It wrote that the terrorists sprayed graffiti on the walls of the destroyed church calling on Christians to leave Rafah immediately.

The attack on the church was the latest in a series of assaults against Christian-owned homes and businesses.
Ehab Lewis, one of the Christians who fled Rafah, said that not a single Christian has remained in the town. ... Instead of confronting the Muslim terrorists, the Egyptian authorities advised the Christian families to move to the town of Al-Arish in Sinai. ...
Father Michael George said that the ethnic cleansing of Christians Sinai was taking place as the Egyptian authorities did nothing.

'Iran's Gestapo' Rounds Up Christians

ARUTZ SHEVA (Israeli National News) - By Tzvi Ben Gedalyahu - October 15, 2012
Iranian police, termed "Iran's Gestapo" by a Christian news site, has arrested between 100 and 400 Christians and thrown them into prisons.
Firouz Khandjani, a council member of the 'Church of Iran' house church movement, told the Christian BosNewsLife website, "We have learned that at least 100, but perhaps as many as 400 people, have been detained over the last 10 days."

He said massive arrests of men and women included the break-up of church services held by evangelical Christians in three cities, including Tehran. "We know that many have been forced to say they will no longer attend church services in exchange for freedom," he said.
"They are of several movements. But it has become clear that Protestant Christians are now viewed as enemy number one of the state," according to Khandjani. "We need urgent prayers."

One of at least five members of the Church of Iran in the city of Shiraz who were arrested last Friday is Mohammed Roghangir, known locally as 'Brother Vahid', who led a house church service attended by some 15 people.
"We are also concerned about sister Roxana Forughi as this is the second time she is being detained," Khandjani added.

Iranian Christians said they were taken to Plak 100, the notorious detention center of Iran's Intelligence Ministry.
Khandjani confirmed reports that seven Christians received suspended five-year sentences last week for "action against the national security," after they were already jailed for up to three weeks in Rasht, some six years ago.

The latest reported crackdown comes on the eve of Monday's trial of five Christian converts detained in Adel-Abad prison eight months ago following a raid on a house church in Shiraz.
Since their arrests, the five been confined in cells housing dangerous criminals on charges of "creating illegal groups", "participating in a house church service", "propagation against the Islamic regime" and "defaming Islamic holy figures through Christian evangelizing," Iranian Christians said.

Iranian Pastor Behnam Irani potentially faces the death penalty for the "apostasy" of abandoning Islam.
The news site estimates there are at least 100,000 evangelical Christians in Iran, based on numbers provided church groups.

Iran Demands List of Church Members in Effort to Contain Growth
MISSION NETWORK NEWS - May 15, 2012
Iran - The Iranian government is tightening control on a Farsi-speaking Church, says a report from Compass Direct News. ...
Recently, church leaders told their congregation that authorities have demanded a list of names and identification numbers of church members--a major risk to converts from Islam.
Nettleton [Todd Nettleton with Voice of the Martyrs USA] explains, "The Armenians: [the government] considers to be ethnically Christian. Persians: they consider to be ethnically Muslim. [The government is] very concerned to see Farsi speakers who they would consider to be Muslims coming to Jesus Christ and worshipping together in this church."
If Farsi-speakers are considered ethnically Muslim, then their participation or conversion to Christianity would fall under the country's apostasy law, says Nettleton. "That really is the concern of the church leaders here. If we start turning over names and ID numbers, they can start tracking who these people are, what their background is, and they could come under the fire of that apostasy law." ...

Children killed in Kenya church attack
AGENCE FRANCE PRESSE - September 30, 2012
At least two children have been killed and two others wounded when a hand grenade was allegedly thrown into a church in the Kenyan capital, Nairobi, police officials say.
Moses Nyakwama, the city's police chief, confirmed the injuries in the attack on Sunday.

He said that police suspected the cause of the explosion was a grenade.
Charles Owino, a deputy police spokesman, said that the attack at St Polycarp's church occurred on Juja Road, in the eastern part of the city.
The grenade exploded, spraying the children with shrapnel.
Blood-stained children's jackets and shoes lay scattered on the floor, surrounded by remnants of metal walls that were broken and twisted by the force of the explosion. ...

Al-Shabab suspected
"We suspect this blast might have been carried out by sympathisers of al-Shabab," said Owino. "These are the kicks of a dying horse since, of late, Kenyan police have arrested several suspects in connection with grenades." ...
The attack on the church came days after Kenyan troops launched an offensive on the southern Somali port of Kismayo, the last stronghold of the al-Shabaab, forcing the fighters to flee.
Masked assailants launched simultaneous gun and grenade raids on two churches in the northern town of Garissa in July, killing at least 17 people. ...

Syria's Christians Wary of Both Rebels and Assad Regime

THE DAILY BEAST [The Newsweek Daily Beast Co./IAC/InterActiveCorp] - By  Clare Morgana Gillis - October 17, 2012
"Call me George," says the bespectacled 21-year-old medical student who stood with a Free Syrian flag draped over his shoulders. As one of the few Christians at a weekly Friday protest in the rebel-controlled Bustan al-Qasr district of Aleppo, he is cautious about revealing too much of his identity-the regime of president Bashar al-Assad still controls the city's Christian neighborhoods. But among the city's roughly 100,000 Christians, "there are a thousand Georges." ...

"At the beginning of the revolution, Christians were afraid because they didn't want the same scenario of Iraq and Lebanon," he says, referring to the years of sectarian violence that drove Lebanese Christians to self-segregate in the north of the country, and forced most Iraqi Christians to flee the country. ...
"The Assad regime offers stability, and gave Christians the idea that most rebels were Islamists and Salafists. But then [Christians] saw the regime kill people at demonstrations, so now they take the middle path," George says. ...

Most Christians in Aleppo are middle-class small business owners, says George, and they just want "a peaceful, normal life, to go out to restaurants, for example." Now, many Christians fear the increasing power of the Gulf States, which are arming the rebel fighters. "They have an agenda," George says. "They support the Islamists like Jabhat al-Nusra."

While George believes that reports of FSA fighters massacring Christians are rumors planted by the regime to keep Christians fearful of the opposition, he has also seen violence against Christians with his own eyes. Three weeks ago, he says, FSA fighters aimed mortars at the security building in Suleimaniya, one of the Christian districts-but the attack lacked precision and hit several Christian homes, he says. As a medical student, George was working at the hospital there and saw many injuries from the attacks, and heard that seven or eight people died. "This made them more afraid. Now you don't see anyone walking in the streets after 7 p.m. in the Christian areas."

The regime uses such happenings to its advantage, and has made a standing offer to provide arms to any Christian who wants them. George says that Aleppo's Armenians, poorer and less educated than other Christians, have been quick to take the regime up on its offer. For the most part, they fled Turkey after the Armenian genocide during the First World War, and Assad has planted the idea that the FSA could commit a similar atrocity. George estimates that some 500 to 600 families of the 60,000-70,000 Armenians in Aleppo are now armed and prepared to fight. ...

Anti-Muslim film puts Christian TV in global spotlight
Unrest in the wake of 'Innocence of Muslims' has shed light on U.S.-based, Arabic-language satellite TV stations whose programming is aimed at converting Muslims to Christianity.
Paul & Jan Crouch TBN 03
LOS ANGELES TIMES [Tribune Company] - By Abby Sewell, Jessica Garrison and Ken Bensinger - September 27, 2012
Off the 210 Freeway in suburban Duarte, between an International House of Pancakes and a Wal-Mart, sits a nondescript one-story industrial park that has been an unlikely flash point for weeks of global unrest.
It's here that The Way satellite TV channel creates evangelical Christian programming that beams across the Arabic-speaking world. Until recently, the business was so anonymous that even city officials didn't know the television studio was operating there.

But that all changed a few weeks ago, when The Way was revealed as a key filming location for "Innocence of Muslims," whose YouTube trailer has sparked ongoing violent anti-American protests in dozens of cities throughout the Middle East and beyond. ...
"All kinds of Christians have gotten in on the action, and some of them are quite horrific in the way they do attack the Islamic faith," said Terence Ascott, the chief executive and founder of SAT-7, a moderate, nondenominational Christian satellite network that began broadcasting in the Middle East in 1996. "It doesn't help the relationship between Christians and Muslims."

The stations' programming ranges from relatively tame Christian cartoons and broadcasts of religious celebrations to fiery sermons that attack the prophet Muhammad. The production values vary, and broadcasts include Arabic-language programs as well as English-language talks shows dubbed into Arabic.
Some of the stations are independently operated by immigrants from the Middle East. The Way is run by an evangelical Coptic Christian named Joseph Nassralla, originally from Egypt.

Others are financed by some of America's highest-profile Christian televangelists. Joyce Meyer Ministries and Trinity Broadcasting Network each started their own Arabic-language Christian networks, with the goal of expanding their reach to millions of potential converts.
Orange County-based Trinity Broadcasting Network launched its Healing Channel in 2005 and has steadily extended its reach. The station touts solar-powered satellite dishes that can beam programming to isolated desert communities. ...

There are no reliable statistics on the stations' viewership. But the potential audience is huge in countries like Egypt, where Christians are hungry for an alternative to state-run television that rarely addresses their issues, and even poor families with no Internet access can scrounge up enough for a satellite dish and receiver, said Febe Armanios, an associate professor at Middlebury College who has studied Coptic and Middle Eastern Christian satellite stations.
"On top of shacks, you see the dishes," Armanios said. "People may not have Internet, but they're going to have a cellphone, and they're going to have access to satellite TV." ...

One of the widest-reaching Christian evangelical stations is Al Hayat, or Life TV. U.S. televangelist Joyce Meyer helped launch the station in 2003 and her program still airs on it six times a day, dubbed into Arabic.
For more than six years, the station also broadcast Father Zakaria Botros, a Coptic Christian cleric who dedicated sermons to describing the alleged sexual indulgences of the prophet Muhammad, including portraying him as a pedophile and necrophile.

Magdi Khalil, a Washington-based Coptic human rights activist and director of the nonprofit Middle East Freedom Forum, said that according to his research, Al Hayat's viewership is upward of 30 million.

Anti-Islam filmmaker held at Los Angeles federal jail
REUTERS [Thomson-Reuters] - By Alex Dobuzinskis - September 29, 2012
LOS ANGELES - The California man behind an anti-Islam film that stoked violent protests across the Muslim world was being held at a federal high-rise jail in downtown Los Angeles on Friday over possible probation violations, a prison official said.
Federal officials, citing safety concerns, were tight-lipped about the conditions of Nakoula Basseley Nakoula's confinement, including whether he was being held with the general population or was isolated from other inmates.
"He is at Metropolitan Detention Center," said Chris Burke, a spokesman for the federal Bureau of Prisons, adding that the facility holds 969 inmates. ...
But Magistrate Judge Suzanne Segal ruled that the Coptic Christian man, originally from Egypt, was a flight risk and had "engaged in a lengthy pattern of deception." ...

Innocence of Muslims Film was Made by Terrorists
SHOEBAT.com - By Walid Shoebat/Shoebat Foundation - September 27, 2012

[Ed Note: I highly suggest reading the entire article at Walid's site.]

When it comes to the film Innocence of Muslims, our government and the media uses a narrative mired in contradictions and false statements provided by the filmmaker, who himself is an untrustworthy source.

If we stick to what can be proven we might obtain the possibility that terror supporters produced the film. Muhammad Al Dura and Pallywood are two cases in point showing the type of stunts used by Palestinian terrorists.

So lets examine facts instead of the filmmaker's fiction.
Court documents reveal that Nakoula Bacile Nakoula, producer of the movie Innocence of Muslims, partnered in a scheme with Eiad Salameh, my first cousin.

Eiad is a Muslim terror supporter and is not an Egyptian Copt. ...
The narrative that circulates the media fails to address crucial questions about the mystery of this film. ...

Such a claim isn't easily dismissed; if an Egyptian by the name of Nakoula Bacile Nakoula is blamed for angering over a billion Muslims, it would not be that difficult to find the entire family in Egypt, to include brothers, cousins, aunts, siblings wife, wives, ex-wives, mistresses, and pets, et. al., especially since the riots that spanned across 30 nations were sparked in Egypt.
In the Middle East, you are known by your clan. Yet, Egypt cannot produce neither this man's family or his background?

Besides, why would Nakoula - who claims to be a religious Coptic activist - have extensive connections with Eiad, a man who I know hates Copts and is well-known to be among the best schemers the Middle East produced and has contacts with terror networks?
This terror connect is not devoid of evidence. The Daily Beast reported on Nakoula's arrest:

The bust came around the time the feds were launching Operation Mountain Express, which would become a huge investigation into pseudoephedrine-dealing involving numerous people of a Middle Eastern background. The authorities initially insisted there were no links to terrorism, but suddenly switched and decided that a chunk of the money was going to Hizbullah.

The Eiad Nakoula connection was likely terror-related.
Nakoula impersonated himself as an Israeli Jew, a thing Eiad also did for years and fraudulently holds an authentic Israeli passport. ...

Pakistan to move UN, OIC for anti-blasphemy laws
ASSOCIATED PRESS OF PAKISTAN (APP) - September 23, 2012
KARACHI: Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf on Saturday announced that the government would fight on all diplomatic fronts to stop the evil forces in the world from all kinds of anti-Islam actions like the recent blasphemous film. ...
The prime minister reiterated his demand from United Nations and other international organisations to come up with an effective legislation against all kinds of anti-Islam acts which harm the co-existence and harmony among the followers of different religions.

"We would go to the UN and OIC and get a law passed to stop anti-Islam activities, including blasphemy, for-ever," he added. ... It was time to wage a diplomatic war with full sincerity and commitment until the international community is convinced to take concrete action including due legislation against all kinds of anti-Islam activities that provoke the sentiments of the Muslim world, Raja said.

The prime minister said that President Asif Ali Zardari would raise the blasphemy issue in his address at the UN General Assembly after two days. The president would convey sentiments and the views of people of Pakistan who are seriously hurt by such acts of hatred and disrespect for Islam. He said the US ambassador in Islamabad was summoned by the Foreign Office and strong protest was lodged with him over the blasphemous film made by a US citizen.
Raja said that for the first time in the country's history, a day was declared at state level to show love and respect for holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). ...

Google's restricting of anti-Muslim video shows role of Web firms as free-speech arbiters
THE WASHINGTON POST [Wash Post Group/Graham] - By Craig Timberg - September 14, 2012
Google lists eight reasons on its "YouTube Community Guidelines" page for why it might take down a video. Inciting riots is not among them. But after the White House warned Tuesday that a crude anti-Muslim movie trailer had sparked lethal violence in the Middle East, Google acted.
Days later, controversy over the 14-minute clip from "The Innocence of Muslims" was still roiling the Islamic world, with access blocked in Egypt, Libya, India, Indonesia and Afghanistan - keeping it from easy viewing in countries where more than a quarter of the world's 1.6 billion Muslims live.

Legal experts and civil libertarians, meanwhile, said the controversy highlighted how Internet companies, most based in the United States, have become global arbiters of free speech, weighing complex issues that traditionally are the province of courts, judges, and occasionally, international treaty.
"Notice that Google has more power over this than either the Egyptian or the U.S. government," said Tim Wu, a Columbia University law professor. "Most free speech today has nothing to do with governments and everything to do with companies."

In temporarily blocking the video in some countries, legal experts say, Google implicitly invoked the concept of "clear and present danger." That's a key exception to the broad First Amendment protections in the United States, where free speech is more jealously guarded than almost anywhere in the world. ...

Google said it decided to block the video in Egypt and Libya because of the "very sensitive situations there" and not because the White House requested it. ...
The motives of both Google and the White House drew suspicion this week, with some saying that U.S. officials might have sought to send a political message - distancing the United States from the anti-Muslim video - by revealing their efforts to have it blocked. The officials had no legal authority to demand action, legal experts say. ...

Yet the controversy has highlighted how much of the world's information is concentrated in the hands of a relatively small number of powerful companies. Harvard law professor Jonathan Zittrain said these "corporate gatekeepers" are essential to keeping free speech robust. ...

Exodus From North Signals Iraqi Christians' Slow Decline

NEW YORK TIMES [NYTimes Group/Sulzberger] - By Jack Healy - March 10, 2012
TENNA, Iraq - Iraq's dwindling Christians, driven from their homes by attacks and intimidation, are beginning to abandon the havens they had found in the country's north, discouraged by unemployment and a creeping fear that the violence they had fled was catching up to them.
Their quiet exodus to Turkey, Jordan, Europe and the United States is the latest chapter of a seemingly inexorable decline that many religious leaders say tolls the twilight of Christianity in a land where city skylines have long been marked by both minarets and church steeples. Recent assessments say that Iraq's Christian population has now fallen by more than half since the 2003 American invasion, and with the military's departure, some Christians say they lost a protector of last resort.

Their flight is felt in places like the wind-scoured village of Tenna, which has sheltered dozens of Christian migrants over the past nine years. The families fleeing Baghdad's death squads and bombings found safety here beneath the hulking mountains, but little else besides poverty, boredom and cold. Villagers estimate that half of the 50 or so Christian homes are now empty, their families abroad. ...
The Christians in northern Iraq make up a tiny fraction of Iraq's legions of displaced people. In all, there are 1.3 million of them across the country, according to the most recent United Nations estimates. Many live in garbage dumps, shanty towns and squalor far worse than anything facing the Christian families in Kurdistan. ...

"The consequence of this flight may be the end of Christianity in Iraq," the United States Commission on International Religious Freedom wrote in its most recent annual report, summarizing the concerns of church leaders.
In January, the International Organization for Migration found that 850 of 1,350 displaced Christian families it was tracking in northern Iraq had left in the past year. ...
"No one has done anything for us," said Salim Yono Auffee, a member of the Chaldean/Assyrian Popular Council, a Christian group in northern Iraq. "These people are trying to figure out how to build their futures, to find homes, to get married. And they are leaving Iraq." ...

Iraq's Assyrian Christians find temporary home in Kurdistan

MCCLATCHY NEWSPAPERS - By Adam Ashton - August 5, 2009
AINKAWA, Iraq - For 35-year-old Rajo Qardaq Palander, a church security guard, the breaking point came last year, when insurgents demanded that he pay $20,000 or abandon his home in Baghdad's Dora neighborhood.
The choice was easy. He slipped out of Dora in the dead of night, joining the exodus of Assyrian Christians from Baghdad and Mosul to this haven in Iraq's Kurdish-controlled north. ...

The number of Assyrians and Chaldean Catholics remaining in Iraq - including Kurdistan - is hard to pin down, with estimates ranging from 150,000 to 800,000. It's accepted that the war has driven as much as half the former population to seek refuge outside Iraq.

Najiba said that only 150 of the 1,100 Assyrians who lived in his Dora neighborhood before the war are still in Baghdad. The others are in Syria, Jordan, or cities such as Ainkawa, in Iraq's Kurdish provinces.
They leave a visible mark in Ainkawa. Residents say a third to half the people living here fled Baghdad or Mosul since the war started more than six years ago. ...

Assyrians have been scattered across the globe since the Ottoman Empire flushed many of them out of Turkey in the early 20th century. They've lost territory in Iraq to Kurds and Arabs alike. Many Assyrians who could afford to leave fled the country under Saddam Hussein's Baath Party, settling in Europe, the U.S. and Australia.
Many now live in Southern California and the San Joaquin Valley, two primary destinations for Assyrians seeking refugee status in the U.S.

Under Saddam, politically active Assyrians faced targeted threats. Others were pushed off their land, particularly in the countryside. Yonadam Kanna, the only Assyrian member of Iraq's current parliament, had been sentenced to death by the late dictator.

Assyrian Christians and Chaldean Catholics describe Saddam's tenure as a time of persecution, but it was the sectarian violence that ripped apart Iraq between 2005 and 2008 that drove them from Baghdad and Mosul.

Refugees in Ainkawa said they were targeted either for their religious identity or to seize their money and property. They blame mostly Sunni Muslim insurgent groups for the intimidation that evicted them from Baghdad's Dora neighborhood. ...

Vietnam 'Destroys' Churches of Hmong Christians

DEMOCRATIC VOICE OF VIETNAM - By BosNewsLife Asia Service & Stefan J. Bos - June 29, 2012
HANOI, VIETNAM - Vietnamese security forces have destroyed two churches of minority Hmong Christians in northwestern Vietnam and threaten to tear down a third, a Christian news agency said Wednesday June 27.
Compass Direct News, citing local Christians, said the violence happened this month in Muong Cha district of Dien Bien Province, which has been the scene of previous anti-Christian violence.
The Ho He Church, erected in April by the unregistered Vietnam Good News Mission, was demolished on June 17, while the Phan Ho Church of the registered Evangelical Church of Vietnam (North) was destroyed, Christians said.
Another church building threatened with demolition, The Cong Church, reportedly belongs to the Vietnam Good News Mission denomination.
Police, paramilitary forces and other authorities descended on the church buildings "by the dozens" and believers could only watch with "deep sadness and frustration" as the houses of worship were reduced to rubble, Christians explained. ...

Vietnam's Government
There was no immediate reaction from Vietnam's government.
Christian observers say the latest reported violence underscores concerned over the church registration regime in the Communist-run Asian nation.
Over half of Vietnam's Protestants remain unregistered and several churches have given up hope they will be legally recognized.
Hundreds of congregations have reportedly tried to apply for registration, but officials reportedly refused to accept their applications.
Others who apply to register are told they cannot because they are not legal, or that they can't register because there are no Christians where they live. ...

Unrest Reported
The prison terms, given in March, came nearly a year after widespread unrest in the region near the border with Laos.
Vietnamese security forces beheaded pastors and shot to death "many" other Hmong Christians who gathered to await Jesus Christ's return after a false prophecy by an
American preacher, according to a leading advocacy group's leader at the time.
James Jacob Prasch, executive director of Moriel Ministries (MM), said in July, 2011, that the massacre was the horrific aftermath of shortwave broadcasts by Harold Camping of California-based Family Radio.
Camping, 90, claimed that Christ would return to Earth to "rapture" his followers to heaven on May 21 as mankind had run out of time.

Christians "slaughtered"
Following the broadcasts, some 7,000 Hmong Christians attempted to gather "on a mountain praising God" in late April and early May, but instead found "police and military police" who slaughtered "many of them at gunpoint beheading two pastors," Prasch told supporters in an electronic message to supporters obtained by BosNewsLife.
Activists said dozens were killed, but Prasch maintained that number may be even higher.
Christians say there is a long history of mistrust between the government and many ethnic hilltribe groups, collectively known as Montagnards, as many of them were allied with the U.S. troops during the Vietnam War.
Vietnam has been reluctant to allow independent journalists to investigate the clashes. ...
