Greetings!
2013 marks THOMAD Engineering's 10th anniversary! We are proud of this milestone and credit the achievement to our dedicated employees and loyal clients and owe them a debt of gratitude. Those who believed in us since the beginning back in 2003, especially deserve my sincere appreciation.
Like any start-up business, we have had our share of ups and downs over the past decade. Nevertheless, our young company has successfully completed more than 300 projects so far. Those projects widely ranged from a simple sign structure to complex and very large building projects. The full range of structural engineering design and consulting services were provided to mostly private and a few public clients on those projects. Always limiting our practice to structural engineering, which is our only specialty, has given us the deep expertise required to deliver creative and economical solutions.
Furthermore, surviving the tough economy in the last 3 to 4 years has made us stronger and better positioned in the marketplace. As the economy and the health of our A/E/C industry continue to improve, the future looks bright and the potential for growth is great. One thing is certain however: We will always remain true to our specialty and focused on delivering better projects for our clients!
 Over the course of this new year, we will celebrate our 10th anniversary by revisiting some of your favorite 'Structural Moments', past projects, and lessons learned.

Featured Project: Bagatelle Las Vegas at The Tropicana

In December 2012, The Tropicana Resort opened the Bagatelle Las Vegas, their newest night & day club in town. THOMAD Engineering is the structural engineer for this challenging and exciting project.
The chic venue includes the Bagatelle Bistro, a fine dining establishment with a nightclub feel, and Bagatelle Beach, a day club featuring a new pool, contemporary cabanas, and a large stage that sits atop the pool area's bar. The stage overlooks the festivities below and will feature live musical performances when pool season returns in Summer of 2013.
Our role included structural design for Bagatelle Bistro's newly expanded kitchen area, utilizing a light-gauge steel framed structural system. The project also required the design of several raised floor systems, large new openings in existing masonry load-bearing & shear walls, supports for new HVAC equipment and a magnificent chandelier above the center of Bagatelle's dining room. Our engineers also designed a new structure for Bagatelle's Beach Club consisting of an elevated stage over a new bar building complete with a rigging system for a giant LED Screen, lighting and sound trusses as well as the framing for new cabanas that surround the pool area.
