Dear Friends of BBLA,
I would like to use this opportunity and thank Edita Hrda, the outgoing Czech Ambassador to the United Nations, for her tremendous work and her true friendship. She served the Czech Republic tirelessly above and beyond her duties. She single-handedly positioned the Czech Republic into the New York City international spotlight by also using the Bohemian National Hall as her diplomatic tool. There were countless gatherings, workshops and gala events taking place at the Hall with the United Nation's Secretary General in attendance, all organized by Edita and her staff. She has been very close with our community and we will always miss her. I want to wish her lots of success in her next endeavors and congratulate her to her new position of the Managing Director for the Americas for the European External Action Service (EEAS), which by the way happens to represent the highest position within the EU government held by the Czech citizen. On behalf of the BBLA Beseda Ball Committee, I would like to invite you to our Ball being held on April 2. This year the theme will be " The Roaring Twenties in Prague." Our team is collaborating with the Czech Center and I am sure that you will love what the organizers have prepared for you. It goes without saying that there will be many surprises. Thank you for your support,
Joseph Balaz, President
