There will be new cards on the Tree of Hope this Sunday, with the names and wishes of Boone County children who need a little help to have a merry Christmas.  Between now and December 13, you can choose a child's card, purchase a gift and return it to church.
If you chose a card last Sunday, please double-check the log book and sign your name next to the card number - thank you!

A few jars of home-made hot cocoa mix are still available - a deliciously chocolate way to support Broadway's 2016 Youth mission trip.  The jars sell for $10 each and make a wonderful gift for teachers, co-workers or anyone who enjoys a good cup of hot chocolate!

An Advent Devotional Guide...
Disciples Home Mission has made available an on-line devotional guide for the season of Advent.  Written by Rev. Dr. Beth Rupe, Senior Minister of First Christian Church in Moline, IL, The scripture and devotional readings begin on Thanksgiving Day, so be sure to find a quiet moment on Thursday to begin enjoying The Season of Advent 2015

On December 6, Advent II...
The SERV Sale
Just in time to help with those last-minute gifts - the SERV Sale returns to Fellowship Hall!  The SERV Sale is sponsored by Broadway's Service (Mission & Outreach) Ministry and all proceeds are used for international mission in partnership with Community Methodist Church and their Global Market.  There will be lots of inexpensive, unique and beautiful gift items to choose from - everything from jewelry to toys to hand-crafted bowels and baskets.  All items are "fair trade," which means that the producers of these unique items receive a better price for their handiwork, thus improving their lives and creating opportunities for other small-scale producers.  The SERV Sale will continue on December 13.

Disciples on Campus Pancake Breakfast
fun_kids_breakfast.jpg
Disciples on Campus (DOC) will hold a Pancake Breakfast at Broadway on Sunday, December 6, from 8:45-11:00 a.m. in Fellowship Hall.  DOC will use all proceeds to defray expenses of their January, 2016, College Mission Trip.  Come early and enjoy a pancake breakfast and support our college-aged young adults!

On December 13:  Advent III...
What Makes Goodie Sunday So GOOD? blueberry_tart.jpg
Very simple answer - you do!  Goodie Sunday is a Broadway tradition, going back many years to the pre-donut days!  On Goodie Sunday, December 13, everyone is asked to bring a treat to share with others. Whether you share a tried-and-true family favorite, or stop at Hy-Vee on the way to church, all treats are welcome and will be devoured gratefully!

Poinsettia Sundaypoinsettias.jpg
On Sunday, December 13, Broadway's already lovely Advent decorations will be enhanced with dozens of poinsettias throughout the church.  If you would like to sponsor a poinsettia, check your church mailbox or pick up a form at the Welcome Center.  At the close of the final service on December 13, your poinsettia can go home with you or be gifted to one of our home-bound members. Each poinsettia cost $6.50.
Can We Talk...

Property Ministry Improves Accessibility
In our continuing effort to improve accessibility for all Broadway members and guests, the Property Ministry team has approved the installation of an automatic door system for the family restroom (located to the left of the Music Center).  With a touch of a button, the door will open for easy entry and exit.  Thank you to our Property team!

Room at the Inn Room at the Inn
Once again, Broadway will serve as a host site for the Room at the Inn emergency winter shelter.  General volunteer meetings are already underway, and training sessions will begin next month.  If you would like to know more about Room at the Inn (RATI), please contact Debby Graham , or any member of Broadway's Service Ministry team.   The next volunteer meeting will be Tuesday, December 8 at 6:30 p.m. in the Loft.  Upcoming training sessions include:
