Praise God for...

1. A Spirit-filled week of leadership training for Khmer pastors and other Christian leaders in Cambodia, March 17-21
Thank you, especially, to Pastor Sin Somnang, who organized the entire event with help from several Khmer committee members!
2. The enthusiastic response of 70-80 worshippers attending two Sundays of preaching at Fellowship Church of Pochentong, Phnom Penh, Cambodia---- the sermons were on resting in Jesus (Matthew 11:28-30), and trusting in the God of resurrection (2 Corinthians 1:8-11)

3. An overwhelmingly positive response to labyrinth prayer on the part of the participants in the Spirit-Led Leader worship/retreat---- God touched each person in ways that were deeply meaningful to each individual

4. The last signature needed for the long awaited permit to begin building faculty housing on Myanmar Institute of Theology's (MIT) campus

5. Two excellent teachers we found to tutor eight poor youth, teenagers aged 14-19, who work at Helping Hands in Yangon, whose education level ranges from none at all to only third grade

Myo Myo and Moe Moe

6. The brochure the Chartres Cathedral distributes to thousands of visitors to explain how to use the labyrinth for prayer has now been translated into four different languages (Jill's photos are in the brochure, and she helped to edit its content)
Pray With Us for...

1. Funds to build badly needed faculty housing on MIT campus, a facility that would also provide a place for Tim and Jill to stay in the future---- so far $70,000 has been pledged or given, and another $100,000 is needed

2. Wisdom and guidance for Nelson Siang Awr, who is translating Tim's book, The Spirit-Led Leader: Nine Leadership Practices and Soul Principles, into Burmese.

3. Wisdom and guidance for the translator of a materials for a new intensive course for pastors and leaders, to be introduced this fall in Chin State, Spirit-Led Living

4. Guidance for Tim as he prepares new classes for this fall for the seminary and for the pastors, and he begins work on his fourth book

5. God's working through the spiritual retreat Jill will be co-leading with the Chemin Neuf Community in the Chartres Cathedral, April 27-May 4

6. Real peace and resolution to conflict between Kachin people and the Myanmar government

7. Peace in Ukraine with justice for the people and wisdom for the church in the midst of civil unrest gripping the country and stemming from conflict with Russia

8. More big brothers, big sisters, Christian workers, and outreach-minded churches to collaborate with us in serving about two dozen at-risk Yangon Youth

God has once again exceeded our expectations! 50 pastors and other Christian leaders met together for a wonderful week of Spirit-Led Leader training in Sihanoukville, Cambodia---- the eighth country  Faith, Hope, and Love Global Ministries has been able to serve. Participants came from provinces throughout the country, most were pastors, some were responsible for multiple churches, and several were national Christian leaders.

Throughout the leadership retreat, we saw God opening eyes and working in life-changing ways. The pastors and leaders were encouraged, convicted of sin, healed, given new hope, unified, and experienced blessing upon blessing. (See the testimonials below.)

The need for this kind of spiritual renewal and in-depth, practical leadership training is great in Cambodia.
The church is  relatively young and represents only a tiny percentage of the country (less than 1% by some estimates), whose Khmer population is predominately Buddhist.

Some 90% of the Christians were either killed or fled for their lives during Pol Pot's reign of terror, 1975-1979. Christians have been allowed to worship openly only since 1990. The churches often work independently, and most pastors do not have formal theological or practical leadership training.

Due to the enthusiastic response from the Spirit-Led Leadership training, we are already looking forward to returning next year. Please pray for us as we now explore more ways for us to help build up the church in Cambodia.

Thank you for your continued support and prayers.

Serving Christ with you,

What They're Saying

Testimonials from Pastors and Christian Leaders

in response to the Spirit-Led Leadership training

What teaching or experience had the biggest impact on me personally this week?

Biggest impact on me is how to become a Spirit-Led Leader. This teaching touches me on how to do a better job on listening to God's voice, to others and myself as well.

God wants me to be more specific on what I am doing and create a vision.

(While touching his heart, a former general in the military, who is now a pastor said...) In the past I used to judge myself and I always felt guilty. So [the teaching on creating a vision for my ministry has been most helpful.] My church's name is Vision for Cambodia. As I learn how to make a clear vision from this training it helps me immensely.

How will my leadership be different?

My leadership will be different because I will have more focus on prayer. This time offered me meaningful prayer time.

How to make a clear vision and [to create very specific action steps], this is my need right now.

I have learned from the prayer walk on the labyrinth. Sometimes I feel like I have personal shame for what I have done, however through this teaching God has touched and inspired me to be more of a Spirit-led leader. So my second point from praying the labyrinth is that I feel I have released all my burdens that I have carried for a long, long time.

God has taught me on the prayer walk. The first time I prayed, as soon as I got into the center, I felt really excited and had tears before God. The second day as I walked ... I felt like God has to help the people.

So about the mission, vision, planning. As a young leader I want to see the fruit quickly. It helps me to slow down and think carefully. Thanks to God that God allows you to teach us.

This week shows me to be more clear how to make a vision for my ministry.

Something that makes my leadership different is your personal [testimony that you shared with us]. [You've taught me to] view the hardships and struggles along the way, step back and try to handle [them] step by step.

Even though I didn't attend the whole week, I remember the words you told me today, "Don't give up."

What is the main message I want to take back to my church, group, or institution from this week?

This is my first time for me to walk and pray. Maybe I start to discipline to walk every morning with prayer.

For me God reveals to me to speak about the new way of prayer on the labyrinth and the wonders of God's calling. And most of the teachings spoke directly to my life. Thank you.

The question that you asked about when we faced the problems on the way to completing the vision is what I'm taking home. [Instead of focusing on all of our obstacles, we need to ask ourselves,] "What can I do today?" Thank you!

Seeking Funds For Special Projects

Our ministry opportunities in Myanmar continue to grow as we invest in the country's Christian leaders. While we praise God for the great success we've been experiencing, we anticipate that our impact will exponentially increase if we can provide these leaders with Christian leadership resources in their own language. Would you consider contributing to the cost of the following translation projects?

* Translating Spirit-Led Leader into Burmese ($1400)

* Printing 1000 copies of Burmese versions of SLL ($1048)

* Translating Spirit-Led Living material into Falam ($200)

If you would like to support these projects, please click on the donate button below, and add a specific project designation to your contribution. When you click on the button, you will also learn of other ways you can support Faith, Hope, and Love Global Ministries. Your partnership and generosity are greatly  appreciated.
