Praise God for...

1. Week after week of seeing God use the various class experiences to open eyes and to equip nearly 100 students in the four different courses we taught this semester

2. The final three hour New Testament Theology class-all questions and answers-where so many crucial biblical theological teachings were highlighted and applied to difficult contemporary situations to wrap up the teaching from the semester

3. An amazing final project for Jill's labyrinth prayer class, where students built two beautiful labyrinths and taught 25 children how to walk and pray at an outreach center

4. A visually stunning, creative chapel service led by Jill at MIT, and a delightful and powerful time of teaching and preaching to 25 young adults, ages 17-25, from the Lai Baptist Church Youth Group, on 2 Peter 1:2-11

5. Healing of Jill after two days in the hospital with a frightening, post-viral infection condition

6. Medical help just in time for one of the Yangon Youth who contracted a serious bacterial infection on the way to pneumonia but had neither adequate food or money to care for his health

Pray With Us for...

1. Graduating class of 75 seniors at MIT as they now move back to their villages and take up Christian ministry and service full time

2. The final signature needed on the long delayed granting of a government permit to build new faculty housing on MIT campus, where Tim and Jill would stay in the future

3. Guidance for Nelson Siang Awr, who is translating into Spirit-Led Leader into Burmese

4. God's provision of adequately skilled professionals to translate SLL into Kachin and Falam

5. Spirit-Led Leadership training in Cambodia, March 17-21

6. More big brothers, big sisters, teachers, and Christian workers to serve the two dozen at-risk Yangon Youth we have been reaching out to over the past year and a half

7. Peace in Ukraine with justice for the people and wisdom for the church in response to the killings and civil unrest gripping the country

Another class of 75 future pastors and Christian leaders is about to graduate here in Myanmar. As we reflect back on another academic year, we are praising God for the many ways Christ has been at work to teach, inspire, and encourage individual students and faculty members.

Most of the individuals we work with are, or will become, persons of influence. They are the key to the next generation of Christian leadership throughout Myanmar.

We wish we could introduce you to each one, and let your hear their stories for yourself. We especially would like you to know how they have been impacted by our classes, one on one meetings, and behind the scenes conversations.

Week after week, these individuals come to us to express their appreciation to us, and so we would like to pass that gratitude right on to you! Your prayers and support have helped make our continued work here possible. Thank you!

Serving Christ with you,

Tim Geoffrion

President and Teaching Minister

"What you have heard from me through many witnesses entrust to faithful people who will be able to teach others as well."

What They Are Saying

Testimonials from MIT Faculty and Students

"Tim and Jill are a brilliant couple in their ministry in Myanmar. They are real Spirit-led leaders and sent by God to us.  They always support and encourage and advise me many ways to be a better leader and a better teacher. They are always like parents and brother and sister to me. For example, Tim proof reads my papers and gives many good and constructive comments and advice.  They not only show their great concern to MIT's academic and spiritual life but also help when MIT needs something. They are always there for us whenever we as individuals or MIT as a whole, need something. I have many good things to talk about them. Words are not enough to express my thanks to them. May God bless their future ministry here in Myanmar."
Naw Eh Tar Gay (PhD)
Academic Dean and Lecturer

"Your contributions given to us through New Testament Theology Lectures are very precious and invaluable things to us. Your lectures, answers to our questions, and comments on our papers are so helpful for our study. [Your lectures...] help us to understand the New Testament Theology ... [and] also help me to find the way to communicate what we see and understand to the community. I believe that your lectures are living in our ministry...."
Benjamin Kam Sian Muang
President of Student Council

"Dr. Tim and Dr. Jill [have been] mentors for our spiritual formation. Since we were pursuing our M.A- Christian Education at Princeton Theological Seminary, Princeton, NJ, they have been able to be supportive of us in many ways: as spiritual parents, friends, counselors, teachers, donors, mentors, and role-models (+ baby sitters). Because of their support, love, and kindness we are confident in our current Ph. D studies. Through Faith, Hope, and Love Global Ministries ... we could nourish our faith by hoping in God and loving one another."

S' Joseph and Nant Tin Tin Win

PhD students, Biola University

"I had the chance to ask what I want and need to know. You are always ready for the students and well prepared. And we became very clear about the core of Paul and NTT."

M.Div. III, NT Theology

"I appreciate your ... learning method. I got many new insights about NT theology. And I would like to appreciate from the bottom of my heart your teaching skill and your preparation and commitment."

M.Div. III, NT Theology

"I am very proud taking this course because it is neglected to learn in our school.... I learn many things from this course... I am very thankful for this course."

M.Div. II, Neglected NT Epistles

"I really do appreciate this course because it gives me the new experiences, new insights and new strength. Moreover, the course makes me to practice my spiritual living life systematically and critically."

M.Div. II, Spirit-Led Living

"Teacher, your scholarly preparations, impressive presentations, and insights that you draw off of your experiences are, honestly, most valuable and appreciated. Though the course requirements are highly demanding, I am crystal clear that you left me some legacy, concerning academic things..."

M.Div. III, NT Theology

"The labyrinth class led us to experience God more deeply. The prayer walk helped me to understand my daily prayer life better and to experience God in every step of life.... Our labyrinth project was our biggest blessed experience and a big challenge for future labyrinth ministry in Myanmar."

M.Div. II, Labyrinth Prayer Course

"New Theology Theology is compulsory for M.Div. final year students at Myanmar Institute of Theology. [Through this course] ...all the students have understood what the New Testament books are saying about God, how the New Testament writers are illustrating God and their faith, and how to apply the texts to their life and context. All the students received many benefits from this class."

Sayama Kay Thi

New Testament Department Head

"It was helpful for my spiritual thoughts... You answered how a person can be academically sound and spiritually strong. You give me insight..."

M.Div. III, NT Theology

"This course is needed for our society."

Chartres Pilgrimage September 22-26, 2014
Imagine you had four days to pray and reflect deeply about your relationship with God and your calling to serve the world. What might you discover? This fall, you have such an opportunity in one of the most beautiful and awe-inspiring cathedrals in Europe. Jill would be thrilled to be your guide during your spiritual journey in Chartres, if God so leads you to join the group!

Seeking funds for Cambodia Mission
and Other Special Projects

Please pray with us now as we leave soon for Cambodia, where we will be conducting Spirit-Led Leadership training for 50 pastors. The church in Cambodia struggles in the midst of one of the most corrupt governments in the world. The country still suffers from the horrible genocidal days in 1975-1979, when nearly half (over three million people) of the total population was killed by the Khmer Rouge. Our goal is to bring them a fresh experience of God, to give them some biblically-based leadership principles and practices, and to equip them to serve and lead in ways that will bear fruit for years to come.

Unfortunately, the expenses for the 2014 Cambodia Mission are higher than we had originally expected. St. Andrews Lutheran Church in Mahtomedi, MN has already given $5000 toward the project, leaving $2200 to fully cover the costs for all the pastors. Would you consider giving a special gift to the 2014 Cambodia Mission?

We have other special project areas that need funding as well, especially the underwriting of the translation work and publishing 1000 copies of The Spirit-Led Leader into Burmese ($2500). Please click the donate button below to find out how you can contribute to Faith, Hope, and Love Global Ministries. You can designate your gift by simply adding a memo to one of our particular project areas, such as "2014 Cambodia Mission", "Spirit-Led Leader Translation", or "YangonYouth".

Your partnership and generosity is very much appreciated
