125th Street Business Improvement District HARLEM HAPPENINGS
EST. FEB 2014 Events & News: THIS WEEK - April 1, 2015

|
The artwork featured this month is located in an office building in our district, 215 West 125th Street.
The artist, Tomo Mori's work represents the introspective vision of her memories. She searches for the interpretation by composing thousands of colors like cell structures in living organisms. The similarity found in an anatomical view of human bodies bridges to connect physical and emotional worlds. Her canvas on canvas collage technique was inspired by the digital images created by thousands of tiny pixels, yet utilizes the traditional method of mosiac. her process is extremely meticulous yet spontaneous in its execution, allowing natural instinct to guide the creativity and momentum of the work.
