AFA AUCTION FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 29, 6:30PM
Dear Donor,
Hello, hello, we're BACK! Now what's better than Kansas City and all those ribs? The Auction at Friday night's banquet promises to be better than ever. We had a great year in Reno, let's do it again. We can't do it without you. Think of some wonderful thing you could give to support our great American Farrier's Association.
Special memorabilia from out in the shed or up in the attic
A destination: you might have a cabin; give it away for a week
A day with a great farrier, help someone improve their skill
A clinic or convention package
Handmade blacksmith items
Special items from our great supplier's inventory
A great auction takes planning and preparation. The hardest part is receiving items at the last minute, very difficult to include them when everything is all laid out. Help me, help you pull together your wonderful items, by planning ahead with me.
To make a donation, fill out the DONATION FORM which is linked below and return it to the AFA office by mail, fax or email. If you are sending your donation to the AFA office, it must be received by Thursday, February 19 in order to get on the truck to Overland Park.

WANT TO GET INVOLVED?
Learn About Staffing the AFA Booth at the Convention Workshop
Do you want to represent the AFA at the Hoofcare Summit, AAEP Convention, AFA Convention, WCB contests, and other events? We need people from all areas of the country who are geographically close to our potential events, so we can have a presence and increase awareness of our organization. We have worked it into our budget to be able to cover reasonable travel expenses for AFA members who staff the booth. In order to represent the AFA at these events, members need to attend a brief mandatory training session at this year's convention. Attending the training will qualify you to represent our organization in a positive way that conveys a consistent message to both horse owners and potential members. New this year - we are planning on having a booth at all the WCB events. We need farriers who live nearby to staff this smaller booth (not what you see at the big trade shows) and make sure materials are secured by the end of the event. If you are even a little bit interested in helping with our booth at events, come to this brief and concise training session.
We will go over some basic public relations issues, explain the AFA message, and discuss the impact our booth staff has on potential and current members as well as how they reflect on the AFA as a whole. We will have instructional material on setting up and tearing down the booth, so you know what to do and where to put everything.
We really need members to step up and be willing to help. If you are a tester, examiner, board member, or officer, your knowledge and understanding already put you ahead of the game. Check out the Convention schedule for our time - I promise it will be a short session!

AFA 45th Anniversary
2016 will be the 45th Anniversary of the American Farrier's Association.
To remember the past 45 years, we are calling out to the membership to send the office old photos from past AFA events, AFT team members, certifications, conventions, you name it! We will post these photos throughout the year and ask the membership to guess who is in the photos and where they were taken.
Help us by sending submissions to info@americanfarriers.org. This should be a fun trip down memory lane.
