Whether fan of a specific breed or a lovable Heinz 57 from a shelter, New York City will soon be filled with over 17,000 dog enthusiasts attending one of the most well known and prestigious dog shows in the World:
The Westminster Dog Show
For the past two years, Alpen Schatz has had a booth in the Host Host Hotel for the show...but THIS YEAR we have had the honour of being invited by the Westminster Kennel Club into the Main Hall where the Breed Specific shows will be taking place!
We will have all of our Beautiful European Swiss and German pet accessories as well as select items from our Alpine Collection for people: Hats, Jewelry, Scarves, etc.

Line-up

So, if you have never been to a dog show, in particular a large one such as the Westminster Show, you are in for a treat! Each day the top dogs of every breed in the AKC will be competing for "Top Dog" of their breed. After each class the Breeders and Handlers will "bench" the dogs where the general public can personally meet their favourites, chat with the owners and learn more about the various dog breeds.
Then, each night in Madison Square Garden, the "Top Dogs" of that day will be competing with others in their "Group" - such as Toys, Working Dogs, Sporting Dogs, etc.
On Tuesday night the Top Dogs of all Groups will compete for overall winner: "Best in Show".
