Co-Curricular Record
Adding Your 2012-2013 Positions

 As we near the end of the year, the time has come to add activity positions you held during the 2012-2013 year (inclusive of May 1, 2012 to April 30, 2013) to your Co-Curricular Record.

To add your activity positions to your record, please:

Sign into the Co-Curricular Record through your Student Centre, or by clicking the login button located on the top right corner of https://leadership.ucalgary.ca

If you login at the URL above, please ensure that you do not have another non-University of Calgary email address/password combination active in your memory cache

Once you are logged in, click on "Add an Activity to My Co-Curricular Record"

Search for the activity position in the "Activity - Quick Lookup" box

When adding your activity position to your record, reflect on what you have learned as a result of your work in the position, and choose 10-12 learning outcome achievement statements

Alternately, please see the "How To Add an Activity Position to your Co-Curricular Record" video tutorial

You will have until 11:59pm MST on Monday, May 6 2013 to add your activity positions to your record. If you have any questions, please e-mail the Leadership Ambassador Team at lead@ucalgary.ca

Conference
Collaborating for Learning focuses on the many ways faculty, students and disciplines collaborate to produce the meaningful learning we strive to foster in our students. The conference provides an opportunity for learning together in ways that allow us to enhance our practice, grow our research on how students learn, and build our community. Some of the themes include collaboration inside the classroom, outside the classroom, collaboration among the disciplines and collaboration in inquiry.

Keynote Speaker: Dr. Gary Poole,  Associate Director of the School of Population and Public Health in the Faculty of Medicine and Senior Scholar in the Centre for Health Education Scholarship at the University of British Columbia.

Date: May 15th & 16th, 2013

Location: MacEwan Student Centre, University of Calgary

Health Check for Grad Students
April 25
Plans are being finalized for a Health Check for grad students for April 25 from noon - 4 PM in the Oval Atrium.

Health checks are short, simple screening tests to show students how they "measure up" with:

  • Height, weight and waist circumference;
  • Screening readings for blood pressure and cholesterol;
  • Lifestyle questionnaire;
  • Interpretation & recommendations from health professional;
  • Advice and information on internal and external resources.

CALL for RESEARCH CHALLENGES

 Our Annual CPSC Industry event is scheduled for Thursday, May 9th from 8 am to 1 pm (including light breakfast and lunch) this year.  This is a CALL for RESEARCH CHALLENGES.

A "research challenge" is a broad range of questions all having in common that:

-They are originated from (one of ) your real-world business projects

-Content-wise, they somehow have a link to one of the CPSC competence areas listed here...

-You believe that some portion of research would allow you to better address the original problem.

For each challenge you have in mind, please fill out the attached form and submit toruhe@ucalgary.ca.

We will have a dedicated session during our Industry Day event where we will discuss the results and offer ideas on how to proceed with the challenges. One idea would be to apply for an NSERC ENGAGE grant (with the key idea of fostering collaboration between industry and academia). See here...

Please submit your challenges until May 2nd.

Please also indicate if there is any confidentiality concern talking about your challenge.

Challenges can also be formulated on-site during Industry Day.
