Hi-Two: Hi-Tech Applications Process MPPR Reduction
|
Prior to April 1, the MPPR adjustments reduced payment by 25% for specific multiple procedures that were performed on the same day. For dates of service after April 1, the reduction adjustment increased to 50%.
The first unit of the highest cost fee item will be paid in full, all other item's charges will be reduced. Unlike therapy caps, MPPR applies to all rehab disciplines, not individual disciplines.
Hi-Tech has made changes to handle the increase in the reduction for our clients who:
- Import therapy charges into the Hi-Tech System.
- Create therapy charges from our Rehab Therapy System.
If you enter charges manually, you will not see a change in the way you enter charges.
Please read the Update Memo to learn how the Hi-Tech Resident Accounting, Rehab Therapy and the Therapy Charges interface calculate the changes in the MPPR.

Hi-Three: Rehab Therapy System Gains New Reporting Features
|
Under the Hi-Tech Rehab Therapy System, for Medicare B residents, the new Print G-Code Compliance Report will warn you if:
- It has been 30 days since the last G-code was recorded.
- It is the 10th treatment since the last G-code was recorded.
- The resident was discharged without a G-code entry.
The Therapists Schedule will include the message "Therapy Note Due" based on the date of the most recent evaluation or re-evaluation. Use this message as a reminder to schedule a Progress Note.
The new Print 100 Day Schedule will allow you to select residents to be included on the list of 100-day schedules.
The Incomplete B Stay Alert will:
- Compare therapy detail by discipline with Occurrence codes and diagnoses check boxes.
- Warn if there are no applicable Occurrence Codes.
- Skip zero time transactions, e.g. therapy refused.

Hi-Four: Resident Trust Eases Transfer to Resident Accounting
|
Under Resident Trust > Trust Transactions > Enter Transactions, you can now record a Trust deposit and transfer part of the deposit to Resident Accounting. For example, a Social Security check is deposited directly into the Trust account and a specific amount is transferred to Resident Accounting (Transfer to RB) to cover the resident's assessment/patient liability.
Contact Hi-Tech Support to set up this option.
IMPORTANT: If you use the Hi-Tech Resident Accounting or Clinical Records System, you can add the Resident Trust System for no additional licensing fee. For more details, please contact Lynne Hammond at Hi-Tech: (207) 474-7122.

Medication/Treatment Administration Record Forms Available at NO Charge
|
Hi-Tech has six boxes of pre-printed Medication/Treatment forms (NUR008) that are no longer required to print MARs and TARs from the Hi-Tech Clinical Records System. The Hi-Tech System now prints the entire MAR/TAR form with the 31-day grid along with order administration details.
If your facility can use the forms for keeping hand-written records, they are available at no cost, and Hi-Tech will pay the shipping charge.
Click here to see front and back images of the forms.
