Markel is pleased to announce our new and improved binding excess product! Here are a few exciting new enhancements now available in Quick Quote:   

• Quoting for both supported and unsupported excess
• Higher limits - now up to $5,000,000
• More classes available - now more than 700

And don't forget about these great features you already know:

• Excess GL, AL, and EL available
• Minimum premiums as low as $750 per million of coverage for low and moderate classes of business
• Coverage afforded on an excess liability form with limited need for additional endorsements
• System-generated quote and binder letters and assigned policy numbers
• 20% commission  

Special notes:

• Excess accounts quoted in Quick Quote must be bound in Quick Quote and issued with a system generated policy number with the "MAPXS" prefix
• Please discontinue using the block of policy numbers beginning with the "EZXS" prefix
• Renewals can be quoted in Quick Quote if they meet eligibility guidelines
• There are no system generated referrals for excess in Quick Quote.  If the risk does not meet guidelines, it should be submitted to the regional mailbox for handling by your underwriter

Carol Gordon

joined the Mid South team in the early days back in 2009 as a Binding P&C underwriter.  She moved to Brokerage Casualty in 2011 and has been instrumental in Brokerage Casualty's 30% growth in 2012.    

  

Robin Beitzel moved to the Mid South region in January of 2013, but has been with Markel since 1981.  She spent the majority of her time in the Midwest Region (Deerfield, IL) and has been writing Brokerage Casualty since 2009.      

 

Meghan McCauley joined the Mid South team in October 2012.  She originally joined Markel in 2011 as an Underwriting Assistant in the Northeast Region located in Red Bank, NJ.  As an Underwriting Technician, Meghan supports both Robin and Carol with binders, endorsements and renewal quotes.

 

We are very pleased to have both Robin and Meghan join the Mid South team!  Our Brokerage Casualty product line is poised to have a very strong year and we want you to continue to think of our Fab Four for your GL and Products accounts.
