Articles of Note
Fast Company, November 16, 2015:
Fear of change and new ideas are the nemesis of persuasion, so skip the hard sell and try these six ways to convince anyone.
LinkedIn Pulse, November 22, 2015:
Procrastination affects everyone. It sneaks up on most people when they're tired or bored, but for some, procrastination can be a full-fledged addiction. They avoid all day the work that is right in front of them, only to go home and toil late into the night, frantically trying to finish what they could have easily completed before dinner.
LinkedIn Pulse, November 23, 2015:
This week the most powerful man in technology, and maybe on the planet, announced he'll be taking a few months off to help raise his daughter. I think the news reveals quite a bit about how our generation regards fatherhood and ultimately why we need to be taking paternity leave. But, for the moment, paternity leave is a medicine we still can't seem to choke down. If we want to really make an inroad here, and I'd argue as a society we have plenty riding on this, we need to advance past the press-release stage and start taking harder measures.
Center for Creative Leadership, Leading Effectively e-Newsletter, November 24, 2015:
Leadership is a "social process" of colleagues working together to achieve results. For success, it can't be all about you and what you can do to be more effective. Get to know leadership's three key outcomes.
Conflict. There'll be times when you can't avoid it if you manage people. But getting drawn into the swirl can make matters worse. This checklist will help you lead through times when your team members butt heads.

As we launch into Thanksgiving week, consider this: Research shows that feeling grateful doesn't just make you feel good. It also helps - literally helps - the heart.
