The Journey Ahead

With the start of a new year, we have new goals, new challenges, and new opportunities.   My father always said, however, that the best way to know where you're going is to take a look back at where you have been.  So before we set out too far down the road of 2015, let's take a look at our path during 2014.  

The Crisis Center answered over 160,000 requests for help through 2-1-1, TransCare, Corbett Trauma Center, Sexual Assault Services, Family Stabilization, and the Training & Outreach department...

Parks Motor Group is a model example of a company that has gone above and beyond in their support of the Crisis Center of Tampa Bay. The company is a Crisis Center annual corporate partner and also sponsored a wheel chair transport van used by TransCare Medical Transportation.

When the holidays arrived, they really stepped up in support of the Crisis Center's Holiday Giving program. Giving trees, loaded with holiday wish ornaments, were set up at the Parks Lincoln dealership in Tampa and the Parks Ford dealership in Wesley Chapel.

A Surprise Reward

The life of a mental health therapist can be challenging.  It is emotionally demanding at times and always rewarding. After a client "graduates" the therapist rarely hears about the long-term impact of their time together.

Deborah has counseled hundreds of people over the years. She's sat with children and adults who have endured domestic abuse, sexual assault, violent crime and many other traumatic events...

Circle of Caring members agree to make a monthly donation to the Crisis Center of Tampa Bay. Preventing Crisis through Youth Education
Anti-violence youth education Involves
numerous interactive lessons.

Tom Mueller is an Education and Prevention Specialist with The Crisis Center of Tampa Bay. In his roll he conducts violence prevention workshops with teenagers in Hillsborough and West Pasco County. These presentations cover a wide variety of topics that include:

-Teen dating, bullying and sexual violence

-Healthy relationships based on trust, respect and communications skills.

-Bystander intervention techniques to prevent violence
