The Lonely Road
I don't know about you, but I feel that I have found my niche as a specifications developer. Early on in my engineering career I was called "Captain Calculator" - I was always ready to solve technical problems, often going back to calculus if necessary (I know!). After that phase, I thought about going into management but my skill sets and interests didn't take me along that path. But I love to read so I became "that" engineer who actually enjoyed writing, and was promptly anointed as the office technical writer. From there, it was a short path to developing specs. May I presume that many of you experienced a similar route?

David A. Bishton, RA, CSI, CCS, CCCA
President CSI Southwest Region

There is a busy 6 months ahead in CSI. Among other thing, it will include:
- National elections in February and Chapter/Region elections in March-April.
- CSI Academies on March 27-29 in Indianapolis.
- Spring certification exam period on March 31 - April 26.
- Southwest Region Conference on May 15-17 in El Paso.
- Virtual round-the-clock education opportunities such as...
Many of us are surrounded by activity and involvement; many are looking for something more, something new. Almost everyone at least a thought of, "Maybe this is the year to..."

New Type Of Solar Array Planned For Arizona Tech Park
Arizona Daily Star (Tucson)
The University of Arizona Tech Park will add a new solar-farm design to its solar-technology demonstration area next year, with the addition of a one-megawatt concentrating photo-voltaic array.
Virginia-based Washington Gas Energy Systems Inc. said Wednesday it has signed a contract to build the utility-scale solar power plant at the UA Tech Park's Solar Zone to serve Tucson Electric Power Co. The project is expected to be completed in April.
