Got a Food Question? Ask Ashley Welcome Ashley Moody, our new Health & Well-being Program Coordinator, whose focus is on nutrition education. Ashley, a registered dietitian, says that her new position combines her passion for program planning and evaluation and her training in public health and nutrition.
"I am so impressed that Bon Secours truly embraces the idea of being good help, taking the mission of co-creating healthy communities to the next level by promoting and encouraging employee wellness," she said. Ashley started work with Bon Secours in July. In completing a master's degree in public health from Virginia Tech, Ashley did a dietetic internship with VCU Health. Based out of Memorial Regional, Ashley will provide support across Virginia. During Environmental Services Week this week she is doing nutrition classes at a variety of facilities. Her new job will include creation of webinars, challenges and other educational opportunities. She will also be writing a monthly column for e-news to answer your food questions. The Bon Secours Richmond Foundation team recently enjoyed a Smoothie Day, mixed up some goodness and shared recipes such as these: Minty Tropical Blend together:
1 frozen banana
1 cup fresh pineapple
1 cup coconut milk
10 fresh spearmint leaves
1 teaspoon honey
4-6 ice cubes Grandma's Cottage Blend together:
1 ripe banana
2 heaping cups frozen peach slices
1 cup low-fat cottage cheese
1 cup milk
2 tablespoons honey |
