New Partnerships, Website, Programs & More Coming This Fall!

Since 2011, with the launch of our Healthy Me, Healthy You employee initiative, Bon Secours has provided strong support to help employees improve their health. To improve this support, Bon Secours has listened to your feedback and looked for ways to make the employee health and well-being offerings even better, more personalized and easier to use.

In October, watch for an announcement about a new website, with resources and incentives, to help you "Be YOUR Best."

This new website is part of a new partnership Bon Secours has entered into with two leaders in health and well-being: U.S. Preventive Medicine (USPM) and the Cleveland Clinic. Their involvement will introduce best practices which will help us all as we strive to be our best as caregivers, co-workers and at home.

Watch for more information coming your way in a few weeks.

How She Cut Her Dining-Out
Budget in Half

Photo of Wendy Phelps Wendy Phelps, manager of strategic planning and business development for Bon Secours In Motion, was taken aback by how much money her busy, on-the-go family spent on eating out.

As part of the Wallet Wellness Challenge, Wendy began tracking all of her family's expenses, and she saw how every Gatorade at the Wawa and chicken at the Chick-fil-A drive-through added up. Her active teenagers seemed to always be hungry - and they were always in transit to a game or activity.

Find out how she cut her food budget in half!

Question: How can I add steps to my daily routine?
Answer: Walking throughout the day is a great way to maintain a healthy weight, exercise your heart, lower BMI, reduce waist size, increase energy, and lessen the risk for Type II diabetes and heart disease. It's recommended to reach a goal of 10,000 steps per day. Here are some ways to reach this goal:
green bulletTake the stairs instead of the elevator
green bulletWalk to your coworkers' offices instead of
calling them
green bulletSchedule walking meetings with coworkers
green bulletJoin an Employee Well-being weekly walk
green bulletAt your child's sporting event, walk laps
around the field
You can also increase your fitness with strength training in the office. Stand up and do 10 squats, lunge down the hall or do pushups against the wall. Most importantly, just move!
