Postpartum Contraception: Now, Not Later

A revolution. That is what we may be seeing in postpartum services, and in particular postpartum contraceptive services. Why are we even worried about contraception during hospitalization? Don't women qualify for IUDs and implants as outpatients when they return for postpartum care? Don't the product labels for all the IUDs and the implants specifically say that method initiation should be delayed? Won't the progestogens in most of the methods reduce milk letdown and interfere with breastfeeding success?

We invite you to read more by visiting www.
contraceptivetechnology.org, the website from the authors of Contraceptive Technology.
The monthly LateBreaker examines the evidence and analyzes conflicting reports on the challenging dilemmas you face in your everyday practice, such as new approaches to managing excessive uterine bleeding, the new cervical cytology guidelines, emergency contraception for obese women, and more

AND, come meet the authors at the Contraceptive Technology conference being held in Atlanta, November 4-6. Get the best evidence on topics such as the contraceptive counseling imperatives, racial and ethnic disparities in family planning, beneficial side effects associated with using IUDs and implants, better sex for couples, future contraception in development, and more. The conferences are part of the stellar line-up from Contemporary Forums, the leading provider of continuing education (CE) for healthcare professionals for over 30 years.

We invite you to come hear our LateBreaker panel in person! Come meet the authors of Contraceptive Technology at one of our conferences.

Family Planning Superbill

Download NFPRHA's new family planning superbill template today!

The transition date to ICD-10 is 22 days away. Are you prepared? Health care provider settings need to revise paper forms and templates as a part of the journey to ICD-10 readiness. To help in this process, NFPRHA has created a superbill template, which includes the ICD-10 codes that family planning providers will frequently use upon the transition to ICD-10 on October 1, 2015.

Visit NFPRHA's website today to download the superbill and get started customizing it for your setting.

Need additional help customizing the template? Contact Amanda Kimber Kelinson at akelinson@nfprha.org or 202-293-3114 ext. 215 to request help or to let NFRPHA know how to improve the template.
