Family Violence Prevention and Services Act
Thursday, October 9th at 3:00 PM - 4:30 PM Eastern

TIME CONVERSIONS:  2PM Central / 1PM Mountain / 12PM Pacific / 11AM Alaskan

Please join the Family Violence Prevention and Services Program's commemorative webinar celebrating a 30-year commitment to creating a pathway to safety for all survivors of domestic violence and their children.

Domestic violence affects everyone - women, children and men - and everyone must be part of the solution. For the past three decades, the Family Violence Prevention and Services Act (FVPSA) has been an integral part of our nation's response to domestic violence by providing funding, oversight, training, and guidance to emergency shelters, crisis hotlines, prevention programs, specialized resource centers, Tribal nations, and a wide-range of Federal partners across the United States. On this multi-media webinar, speakers will reflect on the far-reaching impact of FVPSA funding across the nation and will offer examples of how it has impacted individuals, families, local communities, tribes and services.

TEAMM Training
Training, Education, and Advocacy in Miscarriage Management (TEAMM): Providing Options for Women with Early Pregnancy Loss

Cardea is pleased to announce this conference for all clinical and support staff. We welcome and anticipate participation of physicians, advanced practice clinicians, nurses, medical assistants, and all support staff personnel who are interested in learning how to integrate miscarriage management into office-based services. We strongly encourage participants to attend the training with another provider or support-staff member from their clinical site when possible.

The goal of the conference, which is being offered in two locations this fall, is to offer training to those interested in integrating miscarriage management services into their primary care office-based setting. The conference will include a didactic presentation covering all aspects of outpatient miscarriage management, plus a hands-on session using papayas to practice uterine evacuation with a manual vacuum aspirator.

Funded by the Washington State Department of Health since 2008, TEAMM has trained faculty, residents, nurses and staff in community clinics and academic training programs including 14 medical residency sites in Washington State as well as sites in Alaska and Montana. Most of the sites have successfully integrated miscarriage management services into their office-based care. Since then, the project has expanded to train over 860 health professionals in clinic practices, academic institutions and these regional trainings.

Viral Hepatitis Summit Toolkit

Region VIII Viral Hepatitis Summit Toolkit

Attached you will find a copy of the Region VIII Viral Hepatitis toolkit. The Post-Summit Regional Priorities and Toolkit offers both federal and non-federal health and human service providers concerned with viral hepatitis suggestions to coordinate efforts and actively improve systems of prevention and care. I do hope that this document will be useful in outlining how prevention, screening, care, and treatment efforts for viral hepatitis can be strengthened so that the infrastructure improves to prioritize this disease for the 3.5 to 5.3 million people estimated to be living with viral hepatitis in the United States.

Your work in our communities is essential to raise awareness about this public health concern and take action to address these issues. I encourage you to share this toolkit, to discuss how to put the suggestions into practice, and to work together with your colleagues and other partners to advance the priority areas that are relevant.
