NFPRHA September Webinar
A Team-Based Approach for Enhancing Performance and Sustainability
September 16, 2014, 2:00 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. ET
Relying on old skills and competencies is not a viable option in today's evolving health care environment. In this session, we will explore the administrative, clinical, and financial tools, skills and knowledge that health care organizations need to enhance sustainability and ensure proper positioning with payers and other stakeholders. Strategies for moving toward a team-based approach to enhance administrative excellence, improve quality outcomes, and drive financial performance will also be discussed.
At the end of this session, participants will be able to:
- Describe the revenue cycle and staffing pattern needed to take full advantage of multi-payer billing under health care reform;
- Identify elements of care coordination necessary to secure payer contracts and effectively interact with other provider groups; and
- Develop a training plan to boost the capacity of your administrative, clinical and finance staff to maximize revenues and improve health outcomes.
Presenters: Warren Brodine, President, W. J. Brodine & Co. and Scott Morgan, Director, CohnReznick LLP

New Long-term Study of HPV Vaccine Effectiveness | | New Long-term Study of HPV Vaccine Effectiveness
Pediatrics shows that the human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine appears to protect against the virus for at least eight years. The vaccine or a placebo shot was given to 1,781 sexually inactive boys and girls aged 9 to 15. After eight years, those who received the vaccine still had antibodies against HPV, and none had developed any of the diseases or conditions associated with HPV. Despite the vaccine's benefits, only about 57% of girls aged 11 to 15 are getting the first dose of the vaccine, and only 33% are getting all three doses. Among boys, 34% are getting the first dose of the vaccine, but only about 14% are getting all three doses. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends that all kids aged 11 to 12 should get all three doses. |
