Prayer

Proper 11:

Almighty God, the fountain of all wisdom, you know our necessities before we ask and our ignorance in asking: Have compassion on our weaknesses, and mercifully give us those things which for our unworthiness we dare not, and for our blindness we cannot ask; through the worthiness of your Son Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.

 - Book of Common Prayer p. 231

+

"Therefore, my beloved, be steadfast, immovable, always excelling in the work of the Lord, because you know that in the Lord, your labor is not in vain."

1 Corinthians 15:58

Keeping Up in the Diocese: Website & Social Media
With the changing times and rapid growth in technology, the Diocese of Hawai'i has made a concerted effort to reach out to congregations through the internet. It has been just a year since the launch of the new diocesan website, and the opportunity for all churches in the diocese to create and have a website at no charge!

A website is not only a great communication tool for use within the congregation, but for reaching out to others in the community. Special events & activities, programs and announcements, can all be linked to a church's website.

Many of our diocesan ministries use the website to post the latest information and happenings taking place in their groups. This includes the ECW, 'Iolani Guild, Korean Language Mission Ministry, Pacific Islander Ministry, Youth & Young Adults, and two of our newest active pages, The Daughters of the King and Maui's community outreach program, A Cup of Cold Water. To learn more about any of these groups, be sure to visit the diocesan website under the Our Ministries tab or click on their links above.

Facebook logo And don't forget about social media! Many churches, along with Bishop Bob Fitzpatrick and the Diocese have pages on Facebook, and so does the Episcopal Youth of Hawaii! You will find a lot more photos shared here.  The Episcopal Church has numerous pages as well as Twitter feeds.

So join in! Spread the word! Sign-up to receive the e-news and e-Chronicle, visit Facebook, and keep up with all the happenings in the Diocese and beyond!!!

 A Word to the Churches
The leaders of The Episcopal Church, the Anglican Church of Canada, the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America and the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Canada have issued a joint statement following 12 years of full communion.

From the heads of:
The Anglican Church of Canada
The Episcopal Church
The Evangelical Lutheran Church in America
The Evangelical Lutheran Church in Canada

Twelve years ago Anglicans and Lutherans in Canada and Episcopalians and Lutherans in the United States and Canada embarked together on a journey of full communion, by which we fully recognize each other "as churches in which the gospel is truly preached and the holy sacraments duly administered" (Called to Common Mission). With joy we can point to many ways in which our churches have drawn more closely together in the service of the gospel. We would highlight just a few:  READ MORE
