Congratulations to PPS - Panelplansystems - one of our clients - who recently achieved ISO 9001 accreditation for the first time. Well done to them for all their hard work in working towards this.

As you may be aware from our last Newsletter, ISO 9001 requirements are changing in the future, with the new requirements becoming available towards the end of next year.

If you would like any help or advice on interpreting or implementing the changes, do contact us.

With the party season well under way and many people eating out, holidaying and taking short breaks over the next two or three weeks, this is one of the busiest, if not the busiest, times for the hospitality and catering industry. These businesses are under pressure but still need to provide the highest levels of customer service if they wish to maintain reputation and secure repeat business throughout the year. At times like this knowing a business is accredited to the Hospitality Assured standard gives customers confidence that they will get a good service and employees confidence that their business is structured to deliver good service at all times from a customer perspective. To learn more about this standard, see below.

I hope you enjoy our Fun Festive Facts and all of us at ley hill solutions wish you all the very best for the coming Christmas holiday season, however you are spending it, and a happy and successful 2014.
Our Toolkit - Hospitality Assured

We mentioned in our September Newsletter that  ley hill solutions are accredited trainers/advisors to Hospitality Assured and this is now one of the standard tools in our Solutions Toolkit. Modelled on the European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM) excellence concepts, we are finding it is very helpful in making sure an organisation truly improves in the eyes of the customer. Created by The Institute of Hospitality specifically for customer facing organisations, it has been very successfully used not only in the hotel and catering industry, but also by organisations in sectors such as education, healthcare and local government.

Click on this link if you would like to know about Hospitality Assured in more detail or, if you are interested in finding out more about how it can specifically help you, please  contact us. Our expert Andrew Penn will be more than happy to answer any questions.
Fun Festive Facts

All the gifts in the Twelve Days of Christmas would equal 364 gifts.

Santa's reindeer in Clement C. Moore's "The Night Before Christmas" have male-sounding names, such as Blitzer, Comet, and Cupid. However, male reindeer shed their antlers around Christmas, so the reindeer pulling Santa's sleigh are much more  likely  to be female.

Boxing Day first became a Bank Holiday by the Bank Holidays Act of 1871. Before then there were no official holidays at all in the UK, although Christmas Day itself had long been observed as a "day of rest and Christian worship."

Sincerely,
