Candidate Filing Begins July 5

Election season is almost here.  Candidate filing for Chapel Hill Town Council , Carrboro Board of Aldermen, and the Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools Board of Education begins Friday.  The Chamber will be keeping you updated as we count down the days till November 5.  Have ideas on how the Chamber should be involved in local elections? July is Chamber Orientation Month!
Whether you're a new Chamber member, a new employee at a Chamber member business, or a veteran member in need of a Chamber refresher, you're invited to join us at our quarterly Chamber Orientation presented by Time Warner Cable Business Class, 4-5:30 p.m., Thursday, July 18 at Performance AutoMall. 

 

At our quarterly Chamber Orientation, staff provide Chamber members with an overview of our areas of service and how the Chamber works for its members.  Meet with Aaron Nelson, Chamber president and CEO; learn about the benefits of your membership; meet Chamber staff, Ambassadors and fellow new members; and network on behalf of your organization.

Chamber Orientation is free to attend, but registration is required. Register online, or contact Chela Tu at ctu@carolinachamber.org or 919.357.9990. Chamber Orientation immediately precedes Business After Hours, 5:30-7:30 p.m., Thursday, July 18 at Performance AutoMall.
Save the Date for Important Upcoming Events

Late summer/early fall is a busy time at the Chamber. Please mark your calendar with a few important upcoming dates:

 

State of the Community Report sponsored by Triangle Community Foundation: 7:30-9:30 a.m., Tuesday, Aug. 27 (Location TBA). The State of the Community Report will provide you with data on the health of our community using social, economic and environmental indicators. Registration for this event will open early July.

 

Orange and Chatham Counties Development Briefing presented by Time Warner Cable Business Class: 7:30-9:30 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 11 (Location TBA). At this Development Briefing, hear from residential and commercial real estate professionals, planners and economic development experts on current and approved development projects in our community. Registration for this event will open mid-July.  

 

Primetime Business Expo: 5:30-7:30 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 19 at Sheraton Chapel Hill Hotel. Our annual business expo is back! Mark your calendars, and contact Aubrey Fox Williams at afoxwilliams@carolinachamber.org to secure your Primetime vendor table!
