It is a great pleasure that we honor our latest Patriot of the Month, Karen Carr

Connolly. Karen unselfishly serves her Boynton Beach, Florida community and this great nation with integrity and passion. 
 
Like our Patriot forebearers, Karen leads others, asks for nothing and sets the standard for excellence in every task that she takes on. 
 
We are blessed to have Karen in our lives and a valued member of our organization.

Karen is a graduate of the Central Michigan University and is the owner of Tan Line Stables in Delray Beach Florida. 

 

In 2011 she began volunteering for Camp Patriot after a chance meeting with Executive Director Micah Clark and retired Army Master Sergeant, Gilbert Magallanes, Jr at the National Rodeo finals. Gilbert had just participated with Camp Patriot in the 150th year reenactment of the pony express ride and was at the Rodeo as a honored guest. Karen was inspired by Gil's story and Camp Patriot and made a commitment to find ways to support the organization.

Karen is cut from the same cloth as our Camp Patriot brothers.

She is an amazing person; an animal lover, avid adventurer, mountaineer, runner, entrepreneur, and true Patriot. Karen spends her free time running marathons, canyon exploration, and climbing high mountains. She recently returned from Ecuador where she reached the summit of two 20,000 foot peaks. 

Karen uniquely understands how outdoor challenges lift one's spirit and makes life all the more interesting. Because of this she was instantly drawn to Camp Patriot and its outdoor programs. Karen now proudly represents Camp Patriot by leading fundraising events in her community.

Team Tan Line supports Camp Patriot

Karen, like every true Patriot has a unique ability to mobilize her friends, family and community into action. She continues to find new ways to support our military service members, their families and our veterans. 

Karen's has helped to raise thousands of dollars for Camp Patriot. Her latest project was to help raise funds by coordinating the "Tan Line Team" to do the Ryan Job, Navy SEAL "workout-of-the day". The challenge is in honor of fallen Navy SEAL and former Camp Patriot spokesperson Ryan Job. Karen and her team pulled, pushed, lunged, ran, jumped and raised over $1,000 in support of wounded services members and Camp Patriot. 

We are grateful for Patriots like Karen who are willing to lead and give back. 
About Camp Patriot

Since 2006 Camp Patriot has focused on creating relationships with wounded veterans. These relationships have transformed 125 lives.
Challenge, Change & Lead 
 
Camp Patriot is a 501c3 non-profit organization that offers wounded veterans of all generations unique outdoor programs. Each program is specifically designed to create a powerful "life transformation". 

 

Our program fosters strong relationships between our veteran participants and our mentor staff. Camp Patriot mentors are themselves community leaders who assist in guiding our veterans though the process of healing their physical and emotional wounds in order to successfully reintegrate back into school, careers, their families and communities. Many of our alumni have gone on to great leadership positions in their communities.

 

Camp Patriot is rated "5 Stars" by the organization Great Nonprofits and is the charity of choice for Seattle Seahawks, Justin Boots, Ranch and Home, TriWest,Operation Give Gratitude and other organizations.
