Greetings!
Happy Spring! In keeping with this season's fresh growth, new classes are being added to Yoga Sukha Shala's offerings. Cheryl Gojko will be teaching both Yin Yoga and also Art of Yin and Yang Yoga, beginning April 30. The previews she recently offered at the shala were very well received, so reserve your space in the classes today! Notice that Yin Yoga is scheduled back to back with Empowering Yoga on Tuesdays, a combination that students have reported to be especially beneficial. Try both in a row to see for yourself! Or experience either one on its own. Whichever way you go with these, you'll be amazed how many benefits you experience. Also, we are now offering regularly scheduled prenatal yoga classes on Tuesdays from April 9 to April 23, and then on Thursdays beginning May 2. |

Yin Yoga
| Deeply Restorative, Opening, Engaging
In Yin Yoga, poses are held for longer durations. This gently opens deeper connective tissues and, over time, it frees more space for joints to gain greater ranges of motion.
Yin Yoga creates balance in one's life and body. It soothes, calms, and engages the body and mind to open in deeper ways. Join Cheryl beginning April 30 to explore and learn to discern your edges in each pose - the places that challenge you yet open you.
Yin Yoga can be done by everyone. Props are offered when a pose is a bit challenging.
This class enhances the yang styles of yoga (such as in Yoga Fundamentals and Empowering Yoga classes). Yin Yoga is meditative, yet it challenges you to rest in the breath that guides you to further growth and inner peace. |
Art of Yin and Yang Yoga |
Playful. Fun. Freeing.
This is Art of Yin and Yang Yoga as developed by Master Paulie Zink. It combines both longer stays in postures and also flowing into and out of poses with fluidity and ease.
You will develop the ability to observe the five elements (Earth, Metal,Water, Wood and Fire) in your body and in the way you move. You also will learn playfully to move like animals do - more freely and with far less thought - as you experience greater and greater ease and flow in your movements.
This practice encourages being in harmony with the rhythm and flow of nature, which is the essence of the Taoist attitude. This practice is fun and freeing. |

As always, if you have any questions or comments, please let me know. See you soon at the shala!
For joy!
