Editor's note: Technical difficulties disrupted Friday's delivery of this newsletter. We apologize for the delay.
PHMG's development and performance is a key component of our VISTA goals, and providers and caregivers remain the foundation of the medical group.
As part of our efforts to strengthen this core, we're pleased to announce the PeaceHealth Aspiring Leader Program (ALP) will launch this summer in each of the three networks.
I am reminded daily of the caliber and commitment of our PHMG providers and caregivers. This program is an exciting opportunity for those who feel a call to leadership. ALP is essential to the continued development of effective leadership within PHMG and PeaceHealth.
Each network's ALP will accept approximately 25 caregivers. Participants will learn about the role of management and leadership within PeaceHealth, receive practical hands-on approaches to learning, and participate in a mentoring program.
For those interested in ALP, I encourage you to talk with your supervisor and ask that they consider nominating you. Managers and directors, please discuss this program with your direct reports.
More information about the program, including a nomination form and program commitments, is located on the Aspiring Leader Program site.

FAQs for ICD-10 compliance delay
|
You've likely heard that U.S. Congress delayed implementation of the ICD-10 coding system until at least October 2015. So what impact will this have on Epic in our clinics? To date, changes that have been made to the Epic Ambulatory system that relate to ICD-10 will remain in place. Providers will continue to have drop down lists and the Diagnosis Calculator to guide them to an ICD-10 compliant clinical term. While delayed, we are moving towards an end goal of ICD-10 implementation and it's important that we continue to make progress towards that goal. If you have more questions about the impacts of the delay, please read our FAQs. As previously announced, PHMG leadership decided that ICD-10 training is mandatory for all physicians/providers via the ICD-10 Education website. Each provider will need to review at least two online modules, an introduction and a module related to their specialty. These modules need to be completed by summer 2015. Stay tuned for more specific deadlines.
