Greetings!

Welcome to 2011!!  Where did 2010 go, and why did it go so quickly?  I personally had a great year in 2010 -- hope you did too!  Since we've added several hundred new Timely Tips subscribers at a number of big conferences and events the last three months, I wanted to share some of the best tips they may have missed earlier in 2010 (and maybe make these available for those of you that missed an issue or two last year.)

Here we go:

This is actually a new video tip of two of my favorite Outlook e-mail tips I added recently to my YouTube Channel:  JanaRandyDean -- http://ping.fm/Qs0Dy

How about a link to a 30-minute "Taming E-mail" webinar replay I did for American Bus Association in December???

Remember the link to the Outlook Attachment Remover program I shared in the October Timely Tips -- this tool could help you delete attachments in Outlook with auto-filing capabilities upon deletion:

How about the September Timely Tips where I discussed the creation of files and folders with "smart naming" principles, as well as the creation of "Shortcuts" to your most-used folders:

Do you remember the article I posted from MSNBC.com on what happens to your brain when you try to "multitask"? (Hint: it isn't good!)  http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/36582695/ns/health-behavior/?ns=health-behavior&ocid=facebook

Suffering from "Chronic Overwhelm"?  Here's a blog post I wrote back in March on a "Four-Lever" solution: http://timely-tips.blogspot.com/2010/03/dealing-with-chronic-overwhelm-simple.html

Great article from Entrepreneur.com that talks about reducing the "interruptive" nature of e-mail:  http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/35689822/ns/business-small_business/page/2/from/ET

A Timely Tip reader shared a GREAT Outlook tip in the March Issue on how you can see your Outlook e-mail & calendar at the SAME TIME:  http://archive.constantcontact.com/fs086/1101333232090/archive/1103118143171.html

In March, I posted a PDF document of my Ten Favorite Tips for Managing Your E-mail:  http://www.randalldean.com/Top_Ten_Email_Timesavers.pdf

And in January of this year, I posted this gem -- a "one-sheet" of my FAVORITE Time-Saving "Killer Keystroke Combos":  http://www.randalldean.com/Randy_Favorite_Keystroke_Combos.pdf

Wow -- that was a pretty good 2010 after all!  Did you know that I posted ALL OF THESE (and more) on my Facebook fan page for Taming the E-mail Beast -- if you like these kinds of tips and info, go there now:  http://www.facebook.com/tamingemailbeast and "Like" it.  (Looking forward to seeing you in Facebook land!)

Trying to Catch My Breath

Last week, I spent a few days at UCLA and UC Irvine (yes, I know life is tough!), followed by a big session at the Michigan Association of Realtors Achieve Conference.  Today, I'm speaking at the RSAA Conference in Times Square, NYC (wish me luck getting home with the Nor'Easter blowing through!)  Coming up, some UM HRD sessions, a corporate session in the DC area, a visit to the U. Texas at Austin McCombs School, the AGC Professional Development Day and a session at MSU's HRD.  And this is all before the end of February.

But remember what I always say in my programs:  "Being too busy is EXACTLY where you want to be in this economy!"  So, I guess I'll enjoy taking my own medicine/advice, and thank you all again for the opportunities you've given me.  Until next month, Stay Timely!  (And keep those great tips coming this way!)

Sincerely,

Carol Grainger's SPEAKER SHOWCASE

As many of you know, for several years now, I've been working with Carol Grainger, CMP, at Creative Learning Links in nearby Williamston, Michigan, as she has helped many of you with planning and organizing my programs for your group, company, or meeting.

Carol has been slowly but surely expanding her speaker agency business, and will soon be holding her first "Speaker Showcase" on March 28th here in the Lansing, Michigan area.

You'll be able to see ten top speakers & trainers (including yours truly) in short "snippet" sessions, to help you with planning your speaking/training talent for your upcoming events.

If you are a meeting or training decision maker, and you'd like to get more information on this event, send Carol a direct e-mail at cgrainger@yourastec.com and Carol will add you to the information list.

NOTE:  Many of you know that I am also professionally represented by Andrea Gold at GoldStars Speakers in
Tucson  (andrea@goldstars.com) and Angela Cox-Weston at Midwest Speakers Bureau in Des Moines (angela@speakernow.com)
-- you can contact any of the three of them to help you with your next event or employee program.
I Love Taming E-mail Success Stories Like This:
"Good Morning, Randy!

It's been 2 ½ years since I attended the session about Taming Your Email...and my inbox is finally empty! Although I've always used folders like you suggested, I was unable to keep up with the incoming messages due to the number of emails received each day.

Thanks so much for the tips and continue the good work!"

Will bug you again next week, to help a good friend!

My good friend and fellow author/speaker Tony Rubleski (author of the popular bestselling MindCapture book series, and writer of the Foreword of Taming the E-mail Beast), will be launching his third MindCapture book, and it may be his best yet.

He sent me an advance copy, and I'll just say it was great, Timely, and really needed in today's economy.

I'll send you a note on this next week (and a really cool Google tip) so you can learn more about this great book.  More info soon ...

By the Way ...
If there was EVER an issue to share with a friend, this might be it!
