| "Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow!" - but not as much as last year please! | |
The holidays are almost upon us. While we plan to be open or available for emergencies during the majority of the holiday period, our schedule will be slightly altered. Please click here to see our holiday schedule. We also know that our pets love the holidays perhaps a little too much sometimes. To our pets, holidays mean turkey scraps and other yummy treats, sparkly ornaments and tinsel to play with, and new plants to chew on. Unfortunately to the pet owner, this can mean an emergency trip to the veterinarian. We would love to see you and your pet for a visit during the holidays but not because of an emergency! For a reminder on potential holiday hazards, click here to view our article from last year.

| Feline Vaccine Protocol - Change is Coming (Cats only) | |
After careful review of recommendations given by the American Association of Feline Practitioners (AAFP), we have decided to alter our feline vaccine protocol. We plan to transition from the yearly Feline Distemper combination to a Feline Distemper combination given once every three years. Concurrently, we also plan to transition from a Rabies vaccine given once every three years to a Rabies vaccine given yearly. This transition will begin in January, 2011, and will be implemented for your cat as its vaccines become due. Click here for more information.

| Leptospirosis | |
|
As many of you know by now, we changed our canine vaccine protocol about two years ago. Instead of giving our standard Distemper-Parvovirus vaccine combination every year, we are now only vaccinating for the Leptospirosis portion of that combination each year and vaccinating for the rest of the combination every three years. Many of you have been asking what Leptospirosis is. Click here for more information.
