Postponement of NLRB Posting

The National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) has postponed the implementation date for its new notice posting rule, "Employees Rights under the National Labor Relations Act. Initially scheduled for November 14, 2011, the date has been moved to January 31, 2012. The decision to extend the rollout period followed queries from businesses and trade organizations indicating uncertainty about which businesses fall under the Board's jurisdiction, and was made in the interest of ensuring broad voluntary compliance. Three lawsuits have been filed in Federal Courts to enjoin the NLRB from enforcing its regulation. The posters are available for download at www.nlrb.gov/poster.

If you have any questions regarding this Notice, or any other legislative issue, please contact John Handley, Vice President, Government Relations at 1-800-852-7606.

FTC Educational Material on Debit Cards

The Federal Trade Commission's (FTC) has released materials that educate small and large retailers alike about the changes in the debit card marketplace. Federally legislated swipe fee reform took effect Oct. 1.

Many of the big banks represent more than $50 million in consumer and small business accounts, so FTC has made materials available to help retailers navigate the reforms and help provide savings for their customers. Click Here to View FTC Material
