Final action has been taken on the following bills that which CIGA Government Relations Department had been engaged:


1. SB 39 (Padilla-D-Pacoima): Caffeinated Beer Beverages.   Signed by Governor. Details Here  

2. SB 272 (DeSaulnier-D-Concord): Leave of Absence: Organ Donation. Signed by Governor. Details Here  

3. SB 303 (Padilla-D-Pacoima): Food Safety: Food Handlers. Signed by Governor. Details Here  

4. SB 514 ( Simitian-D-Palo Alto): Dextromethorphan: Sales to Minors Prohibited. Signed by Governor. Details Here  

5. AB 350 (Solorio-D-Santa Ana): Displaced Janitor Opportunity Act. Failed passage in the Senate. Details Here
6. SB 111 (Yee-D-San Frnacisc0): Civil Rights: Language Restrictions. Vetoed by Governor. Details Here

BEWARE: Investigator Imposters

Warning to all retailers! Be on the lookout for impersonators presenting themselves to be BOE representatives or investigators. Several complaints from retailers have been reported about suspects entering businesses, identifying themselves as a BOE representative, asking for infor-mation that must be retrieved from another area of the store, then stealing cash, cigarettes, and other tobacco products.
