Great Gift Idea
Greetings!

For 2010, I made a pledge to do more of what energizes me and I hope you are doing the same.

THIS is what energizes me:
I have completed my relationship coaching courses, and started coaching BRIDES as they prepare for the biggest day of their life and blend their hopes and dreams with their fiance and their family.

In addition, I am coaching other men and women who are in a major transition in their lives.

I am working on a book and workshops to help people to connect to the potential for positive energy in their relationships and their lives.

I am connecting with other women who want to bring a new level of positivity to their life.  Networking on line and IN PERSON is like building your own team to fill all the needs in your life.

Lets hear from some of YOU, what energizes your life?

Feel free to share this newsletter with anyone, to email me with comments or to write a little inspiring thought of your own.  I'd be happy to include it in future newsletters!
Enjoy,
Monica

This Week's Blog

Sunday Night Planning

It's Sunday night and I am back to using my "tree top planner" strategy. What that means is I imagine being up in the top of a tree looking down on my week ahead. I can spend a few minutes dreaming about what I want to accomplish, how I will feel at the end of the week when I've accomplished these things, how will I be closer to my master plan goals, who do I need or want to connect to this week, what have I made commitments to do?...

I hope you took the time to review your wins for 2009.  Now it's time to think about how you want to make 2010 special.  How do you want 2010 to be different?  What goals have you thought about achieving?  Go deeper than the specifics of the goal, how will you feel if you've achieved the goal by the end of the year? after 5 or 10 years?  How would your life be different?
I was given a quote earlier that inspired the theme for my newsletter:

Excerpted from Secrets of the World Class by Scott Siebold

Champions Have an Immense Capacity for Sustained Concentration.  They are famous for concentrating their energy and efforts on what they want and blocking out anything or anyone who threatens that focus.

Action Step for Today

Write down the single most important goal you want to achieve in the next twelve months and make a commitment to concentrate on achieving it- no matter what.

I gave a workshop this past fall and we discussed what happens when you get distracted by outside forces that trick you into thinking they are more important or more urgent than your goal.  It could be your emails calling to you (except these helpful newsletters), facebook or social networks, TV, little household chores that can wait till later, pressures to do things that are urgent but not important.
Let them go, stay focused, choose to do what you know is really part of the BIG picture, part of the master plan that will really make a difference in your life.

Go ahead and write that book, start that business, learn that new skill, take care of your health, connect to your family on a deeper level.  Whatever it is that you want for 2010, MAKE IT HAPPEN.

Here's to 2010!  Let's make it a good one.

Suggested reading:
Rather than suggesting a self-help book, I picked the first novel I've read in a while (besides Pride and Prejudice.)

The Art of Racing in the Rain
, a novel by Garth Stein.
(Thanks Allison!)  It's a novel written from the perspective of a dog.  Funny, sad, heartwarming and real.

From the back cover, a review by Wally Lamb:
"I savored (this book) for many reasons: a dog who speaks, the thrill of competitive car racing, a heart-tugging story line, and-best of all- the fact that it is a meditation on humility and hope in the face of despair."

Available in book stores and on line.

Thanks for reading and I hope you gained some new insights and tips.  Please share your ideas and feedback with me.  If there is a topic you would like to see covered on these pages please let me know!

Sincerely,
Monica Leggett
