Great Gift Idea
Greetings!

It's the end of an old year and almost time to make those New Year's Resolutions.
Instead of thinking of them as a way of fixing what is wrong in your life, I challenge you to find 3 things that are GOOD in your life and then create more of that.
If you like taking walks or reading books, do more of it.
If you felt energized after putting yourself FIRST and doing something special for yourself, make sure it happens again real soon! (NO Guilt!)
If you hosted a party and had a real fun time doing it, find an excuse to do it again.

Our society spends too much time thinking about what's wrong in our lives and not enough on what is right.  I think that is my resolution; do more of what energizes me and stay away from the things that drag me down.   That sounds like an intention I can stick to for 2010.  How about you?

Feel free to share this newsletter with anyone, to email me with comments or to write a little inspiring thought of your own.  I'd be happy to include it in future newsletters!
Enjoy,
Monica

This Week's Blog

Be grateful, be glad, and be joyful

I just saw a quote today that struck to the core of human relationships. It was written in 1790 by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe.
"I have come to the frightening conclusion that I am the decisive element. It is my personal approach that creates the climate. It is my daily mood that makes the weather. I possess tremendous power to make life miserable or joyous. I can be a tool of torture or an instrument of inspiration; I can humiliate or humor, hurt or heal..."

What do you wish to celebrate about this year, as you finish up 2009 and head into 2010?  I am celebrating so many wins that have to do with my family, my business and my own personal goals; for getting certified as a life coach and beginning my relationship coaching as well, for being interviewed TWICE by Fox61 News, for reaching out to all of you through this newsletter, my blog and submitting articles to More.com, for giving 3 workshops this year, for connecting with great clients who are seeking their own path, for learning to Skype which allows me to coach people all over the world (Turkey and Montreal), and for creating a network of other coaches and professionals who have brought a richness to my life.
I am in a coaching group that talks weekly.  We each get a chance to talk about our goals, issues, or plans, whatever we need to share with the others.  We are then held accountable to our goals and intentions by the other members of the group.  Today we shared our personal year-end evaluation and I thought I might share the framework with you:

1. What were your 3 most important wins in 2009?

2. What were your 3 most energizing events/activities during the year?

3. What did you learn from your wins and your energizers that you want to carry forward into 2010?

My wish for you is that you take 30 minutes out of your busy schedule over the next few weeks and try to answer those three questions.
And what will you do with the answers?  You can use them as clues to what you want to have more of in your life!   Stop feeding the negative thoughts and actions that drain you of energy and motivation.  Instead, take what is positive in your life and create more of that.

I wish you a Happy and Healthy New Year.   Here's to 2010!  Let's make it a good one.

I am repeating this suggestion.  If ever there was a time to write things down, it's the month when everyone "turns over a new leaf" or makes New Years Resolution.  So go ahead and:

Write it Down, Make it Happen
by Henriette Anne Klauser

The author explains how simply writing down your goals in life is the first step toward achieving them.  Writing can even help you understand what you want.
Capture your thoughts, feelings, gratitude, to-do lists and so much more with many ideas of strategies and structures.  Many true stories included.

Available in book stores and on line.

Thanks for reading and I hope you gained some new insights and tips.  Please share your ideas and feedback with me.  If there is a topic you would like to see covered on these pages please let me know!

Sincerely,
