March 13, 2010
Greetings!

What a treat it was to play through Patriotic Salute at last Tuesday's rehearsal with all the Auxiliary present and doing their thing. I can't wait to hit the street at Chasco next Saturday. We're going to blow Pasco County away!

But first...
This Tuesday is our one and only Marching
bill rehearsal
Rehearsal!!! We meet at 6:30 PM in the stands at Admiral Farragut Academy 501 Park Street North
St Petersburg
ready to play (directions, map link, and address below).
Have all your music (in order), flip folders, lyres, marching shoes, and be ready in the stands for musicians and on the field for auxiliary to begin practice. Plan on arriving by 6:15 PM if you can as parking and logistics are different than you are use to!

The music order is:
  • Swanee River Fanfare
  • Thunderbird March
  • Y.M.C.A.
  • Them Basses
  • Rhapsody in Blue
  • Get It On
  • Patriotic Salute

Then...on Saturday, off to New Port Richey and the Chasco Parade.
Buses leave at 10:00 a.m. sharp (not flat) from Tropicana Field. We will not wait, so be on time.  Wear your full uniform including Rounders shirt, hat, black belt, white

shoes and white socks.  If it is cold (hey, it's Florida), you may wear a long sleeved shirt under uniform shirt that matches the white shirt.  We will warm-up then play a concert near US 19 and Main Street at 11:00 a.m. so if you are driving, try to park near there and arrive by 10:45. You can ride the bus to the start of the parade and back. Party at Ferg's upon return from the Chasco parade!!

The Board is still "taking reservations" for "The Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth" that is the Calgary Stampede. If you haven't signed up yet...this is truly going to be one of our more memorable events in many years; a "Performers" trip with parade, field show, and concert opportunities.

Your Rounders are willing to work with you on the initial deposits...but we need to hear from you right away! We have a fantastic group signed-up so far...and good instrumentation and auxiliary representation. We would love to drive participation over the 350 mark...and really make a statement up North!

This is one of our most reasonably priced trips ever...with lots of options on travel. There is 16 months to save a few dollars toward the trip and another great Rounders experience. If we can help you in any way make the commitment, please contact Barbara Keighley at  keighley42@gmail.com to make special arrangements.

Earn Money for Calgary!

A Calga"RAY" Opportunity!...

A good response last week to the "Ray's" Concessions survey...you know you can earn up to the entire price of your Calgary trip here...? Take another look and take the survey (link below)!! To those of you who inquired...stay tuned!

Your Second Time Arounders are working with the Tampa Bay Rays to provide FUNdraising opportunities this season toward YOUR personal Calgary trip fees.

Sign up to work concessions at Tropicana Field, with your fellow canadian moneyRounders, and all monies earned by you for your efforts go to you...toward Calgary!

Now for the good part...all volunteers make a minimum of $45 per game or 5% to 12% of stand sales whichever is greater. All monies will go direct to YOUR Calgary fund to defer the cost of your Canadian musical adventure.

A few things we do know: 1) We need to commit soon! 2) Free parking for workers 3) Workers get a meal ticket for food ("pass me some
Ray
peanuts and Cracker Jack...")
4) Most weekday games start around 7PM but some start around 4PM.  5) Staffing needs will fluctuate with attendance 6) The stand/shift "manager" needs to arrive 90 minutes prior to the game 7) "Volunteers" need to arrive 30-60 minutes prior to the game.

Your Rounders board is looking for a program coordinator, shift leads (more Calgary credit), andhot dog volunteers to work one-to-twenty-four games (that would be you...at a minimum of $45.00 per game...why not?).

More detail available soon...but if interested, please click on the below link and let us know (non-binding...but we'll make sure you get the information you need!).

Have fun at the ballpark, and earn up to the entire amount of your Calgary trip!!
