Obama and the Messiah complex |
1 John 2:18-19 Children, it is the last hour; and just as you heard that antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have appeared; from this we know that it is the last hour. They went out from us, but they were not really of us; for if they had been of us, they would have remained with us; but they went out, so that it would be shown that they all are not of us.
Isaiah 30:1-3 "Woe to the rebellious children," declares the LORD, "Who execute a plan, but not Mine, And make an alliance, but not of My Spirit, In order to add sin to sin; Who proceed down to Egypt Without consulting Me, To take refuge in the safety of Pharaoh And to seek shelter in the shadow of Egypt! "Therefore the safety of Pharaoh will be your shame And the shelter in the shadow of Egypt, your humiliation.

| Shalom in Christ Jesus, |
T-Shirts that say 'Messiah2008', a blog called "Is Barack Obama the Messiah", shrines to Obama, a supporter posting on Obama's official Website that says "Obama is God", numerous photo-shopped pictures of Obama with halos around his head. This is just a small sampling of 'messianic' fervor, adoration and worship like atmosphere surrounding this presidential candidate. The Bible declares in the last days false Christs and false prophets will arise (Matt 24:23-26) ... and although Obama is not a minister in the religious sense he has become a 'spiritual' leader to many of his devoted followers and clearly fits into this category considering his beliefs do not square with that of scripture but rather go contrary. The one deep conviction I have concluded in researching this man and his campaign and his life-story is that the mass deception and intrigue is of a deep spiritual nature and not just a political/pop-culture phenomena. The media (in general) are also captivated by this man and have suspended any pretense of objectivity going well beyond their normal degree of political bias. Beyond the blatant character assassination of McCain and especially Sarah Palin, the deliberate disregard of stories such as Obama's questionable U.S. citizenship and connections to both domestic and Islamic terrorists the mantra in the media has consistently been "The economy is issue number one", and many people eat this up. However, Scripture declares that it is not the economy or prosperity that is the number one issue but ones eternal destiny. Tied into that is the moral condition and character of a people/nation and if that is in line with the truth then all other needs will be taken care of. This is a promise of the Lord Jesus Christ.
"Do not worry then, saying, `What will we eat?' or `What will we drink?' or `What will we wear for clothing?' "For the Gentiles eagerly seek all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. "But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. "So do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. - Matthew 6:31-34
America is no longer a Christian nation but her history is Christian, at least up to the point where Biblical values and morality were built into her laws and held by a majority of her citizens. Now that she has lost sight of that history judgment is falling upon her. The only way for America to be healed is to repent as Nineveh did, but I fear that things have gone too far for much too long for that to happen. Nonetheless, if a real "change" is to come to this country or any of the Western nations, repentance is what must happen. Voting for any man or woman who promises that their policies will bring prosperity and a return to the greatness America once had is the same lie the people have been buying into for years and years and there is nothing new under the sun. One thing that is different in this election is the incredible level of deception that is spreading among all groups of people including supposed born again Christians. However, the ability to cut through the smoke and mirrors is available to anyone who is willing to get into the Scriptures daily and do a little research outside of the mainstream ' misleadia'. If Barack Obama does become president of the United States there is no doubt in my mind that considering his background and ties to radical Islam that this would be a judgment upon our country, a bloodless coup d'état allowed by the Lord because of the refusal of the people to turn back to Him. My prayer is that does not happen. BE/\LERT!Scott Brisk Ps. Regarding the last alert on Obama, I stated I planned on alerts covering McCain-Palin as well. However, much of the material I had was accidentally deleted when my editing program jammed. I have recovered some but the setback has left me with very little time. I will try to do my best as the Lord permits. |
Obama and the "Strong Delusion"
|
THE CHRISTIAN WORLDVIEW - Posted by David Wheaton - October 26, 2008No, I don't think Barack Obama is the Antichrist, as one commenter on a previous post asked. But as you read this excellent column by Mark Levin entitled "The Obama Temptation", it's pretty clear that the meteoric rise and widespread support, even worship, of the Democrat presidential candidate has given us a foreshadowing of the "strong delusion" that will overtake the whole world when the real Antichrist appears (Revelation 13 and 17). Here's what 2 Thessalonians 2:9 says about that "strong delusion": "The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders, and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie, that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness."The "lawless one" might seem a stretch for big-smiling Barack - and it is - but as for the those who support and follow him being deluded and deceived? Well, I'll let Mark Levin describe the extent of the delusion taking place before our eyes: I've been thinking this for a while so I might as well air it here. I honestly never thought we'd see such a thing in our country - not yet anyway - but I sense what's occurring in this election is a recklessness and abandonment of rationality that has preceded the voluntary surrender of liberty and security in other places. I can't help but observe that even some conservatives are caught in the moment as their attempts at explaining their support for Barack Obama are unpersuasive and even illogical. And the pull appears to be rather strong. Ken Adelman, Doug Kmiec, and others, reach for the usual platitudes in explaining themselves but are utterly incoherent. Even non-conservatives with significant public policy and real world experiences, such as Colin Powell and Charles Fried, find Obama alluring but can't explain themselves in an intelligent way.
There is a cult-like atmosphere around Barack Obama, which his campaign has carefully and successfully fabricated, which concerns me. The messiah complex. Fainting audience members at rallies. Special Obama flags and an Obama presidential seal. A graphic with the portrayal of the globe and Obama's name on it, which adorns everything from Obama's plane to his street literature. Young school children singing songs praising Obama. Teenagers wearing camouflage outfits and marching in military order chanting Obama's name and the professions he is going to open to them. An Obama world tour, culminating in a speech in Berlin where Obama proclaims we are all citizens of the world. I dare say, this is ominous stuff.
Even the media are drawn to the allure that is Obama. Yes, the media are liberal. Even so, it is obvious that this election is different. The media are open and brazen in their attempts to influence the outcome of this election. I've never seen anything like it. Virtually all evidence of Obama's past influences and radicalism - from Jeremiah Wright to William Ayers - have been raised by non-traditional news sources. The media's role has been to ignore it as long as possible, then mention it if they must, and finally dismiss it and those who raise it in the first place. It's as if the media use the Obama campaign's talking points - its preposterous assertions that Obama didn't hear Wright from the pulpit railing about black liberation, whites, Jews, etc., that Obama had no idea Ayers was a domestic terrorist despite their close political, social, and working relationship, etc. - to protect Obama from legitimate and routine scrutiny. And because journalists have also become commentators, it is hard to miss their almost uniform admiration for Obama and excitement about an Obama presidency. So in the tank are the media for Obama that for months we've read news stories and opinion pieces insisting that if Obama is not elected president it will be due to white racism. And, of course, while experience is crucial in assessing Sarah Palin's qualifications for vice president, no such standard is applied to Obama's qualifications for president. (No longer is it acceptable to minimize the work of a community organizer.) Charles Gibson and Katie Couric sought to humiliate Palin. They would never and have never tried such an approach with Obama.
But beyond the elites and the media, my greatest concern is whether this election will show a majority of the voters susceptible to the appeal of a charismatic demagogue. This may seem a harsh term to some, and no doubt will to Obama supporters, but it is a perfectly appropriate characterization. Obama's entire campaign is built on class warfare and human envy. The "change" he peddles is not new. We've seen it before. It is change that diminishes individual liberty for the soft authoritarianism of socialism. It is a populist appeal that disguises government mandated wealth redistribution as tax cuts for the middle class, falsely blames capitalism for the social policies and government corruption (Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac) that led to the current turmoil in our financial markets, fuels contempt for commerce and trade by stigmatizing those who run successful small and large businesses, and exploits human imperfection as a justification for a massive expansion of centralized government. Obama's appeal to the middle class is an appeal to the "the proletariat," as an infamous philosopher once described it, about which a mythology has been created. . . .
Unlike past Democrat presidential candidates, Obama is a hardened ideologue. He's not interested in playing around the edges. He seeks "fundamental change," i.e., to remake society. And if the Democrats control Congress with super-majorities led by Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid, he will get much of what he demands.
The question is whether enough Americans understand what's at stake in this election and, if they do, whether they care. Is the allure of a charismatic demagogue so strong that the usually sober American people are willing to risk an Obama presidency? After all, it ensnared Adelman, Kmiec, Powell, Fried, and numerous others. And while America will certainly survive, it will do so, in many respects, as a different place.
Levin's assessment of the "Obama delusion" that is taking place in our country is one of the best I've read. Having followed this closely myself, it doesn't seem far-fetched in the least that the people of the world will willingly follow a future political leader that they "feel" will bring peace, security, and justice yet will actually bring just the opposite - war, enslavement, and corruption. And so it is with the widespread prostration to Obama - a good feeling about placing hope in a super-man among us to "fix the country" that has no basis in fact or history but actually further paves the way for the real lawless one to come. Obama Redefines Christianity and Socialism as Election Nears
|
KOENIG'S INTERNATIONAL NEWS - By Bill Wilson, KIN Senior Analyst - October 28, 2008A recent poll of voters indicated that Christians were about evenly split between supporting Republican John McCain or Democrat Barack Hussein Obama for President. It seems that McCain has convinced most Christians that he is a Christian, but not necessarily a strong enough Christian. Obama has convinced many that he is a Christian, however, his commitment to his faith by his actions is sorely lacking. Hence, its about 50/50 among Christians, who essentially determined the last two presidencies by their strong vote en masse for George W. Bush. McCain tried to solidify the conservative Christian base by choosing Sarah Palin as his vice presidential running mate. While this solidified some of the most conservative Christians, it appears McCain still has not closed the deal. Meanwhile, there are many Christians who are voting for change no matter what. Obama represents that change. But Christians are warned in Philippians 2:12-13 to "work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. For it is God which works in you both to will and to do of His good pleasure." If Christians are to do of God's good pleasure, then they had better be forewarned of the ramifications of voting for Obama. First off, Obama is not a Christian. Obama explained his Christianity in a March 27, 2004 interview with Cathleen Falsani, author of "The God Factor: Inside the Spiritual Lives of Public People." Obama told Falsani, "I am rooted in the Christian tradition. I believe that there are many paths to the same place, and that is a belief that there is a higher power, a belief that we are a connected people." Then he used a more traditional Muslim description of Jesus, saying he was a "historical figure," a "bridge between God and man," and "a wonderful teacher." Christians believe the words of Jesus when he says in John 14:6, "I am the way, the truth and the life: no man comes unto the Father, but by me." So if Obama is not a Christian, what is he? He was once a Muslim and his campaign has declared that he is not a practicing Muslim. But more recently, it has been revealed that in 2001 Obama said that the US Constitution was flawed and that the Founding Fathers were wrong by not writing into it a means for wealth redistribution. This is consistent with his October 13th declaration to Joe the Plumber, "I think when you spread the wealth around, it's good for everybody." This is Marxism. Obama was mentored by Communist Party USA leader Frank Marshall Davis and was a member of the socialist New Party in Chicago dedicated to electing socialists as Democrats. Marxism is the replacement of God with government. Original Report

Why 'born-again' Christians are backing Obama
|
ONE NEWS NOW [American Family News Network] - By Jim Brown - October 30, 2008Despite Barack Obama's approval of abortion and homosexual activism, new polling by a prestigious Christian research group indicates that the Democratic presidential nominee is making significant inroads among voters who are classified as "born-again" Christians. The Barna Group for research says Obama is statistically tied (43 percent to 45 percent) with Republican John McCain among born-again Christian voters. "Born-again Christians" are defined by Barna as people who say they have made a personal commitment to Jesus and believe they will go to heaven because they have confessed their sins and accepted Jesus Christ as their savior. Based on that definition, 48 percent of all voters in this election will be "born-again" Christians. Meantime, Barna says 63 percent of "evangelicals" are supporting McCain, while 23 percent are supporting Obama. "Evangelicals" meet the "born-again" criteria, plus seven other conditions, including the belief that salvation is only possible through grace, not works. According to Dave Kinnaman, president of The Barna Group, born-again Christians voting for Obama say they are backing the Illinois senator because they believe he will do a better job restoring America's reputation and handling the economy and agree with his stance on the Iraq War. - - - - Read Full Report McCain and Obama in `dead heat' among born-again votersThe Barna Group says Obama has a commanding lead and is making "significant inroads" among Christian votersTHE DALLAS MORNING NEWS [A. H. Belo Corporation/Belo Group] - By Sam Hodges - October 23, 2008Ventura, California -- Unless a dramatic shake-up of the electorate occurs in the next two weeks, Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama is poised to win the November 4th election by a comfortable margin. A new survey from The Barna Group, exploring the voting preferences of registered voters who are likely to vote in the upcoming election found that Sen. Obama has a 13-point lead against Republican John McCain (50% to 37%). One of the surprising insights of the research is the significant inroads Sen. Obama has made among the Christian community, particularly compared to 2004. In fact, among born again voters there is a statistical dead-heat: 45% plan to vote for Sen. McCain, while 43% expect to cast a ballot for Sen. Obama. Even if Sen. McCain were to sweep the 10% who are undecided born again voters, he would fail to reach the 62% who rallied for President Bush in 2004. Full Report Posted on the Be Alert! Blog

| Farrakhan on Obama: 'The Messiah is absolutely speaking' |
'Barack has captured the youth,' will bring about 'universal change' WORLDNETDAILY - October 9, 2008 Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan, another powerful Chicago-based political figure associated with the Rev. Jeremiah Wright and other long-time associates of Democratic Party presidential candidate Barack Obama, is leaving no doubt about what he thinks of the leader in the campaign for the White House. He says when Obama talks "the Messiah is absolutely speaking." You can watch it for yourself on a newly posted YouTube video. Addressing a large crowd behind a podium Feb. 24 with a Nation of Islam Saviour's Day 2008 sign, Farrakhan proclaims,
"You are the instruments that God is going to use to bring about universal change, and that is why Barack has captured the youth. And he has involved young people in a political process that they didn't care anything about. That's a sign. When the Messiah speaks, the youth will hear, and the Messiah is absolutely speaking."
"Brothers and sisters," Farrakhan said, "Barack Obama to me, is a herald of the Messiah. Barack Obama is like the trumpet that alerts you something new, something better is on the way." Farrakhan points out that the man Nation of Islam followers refer to as "the Savior," Fard Muhammad, had a black father and a white mother, just as Obama did. "A black man with a white mother became a savior to us," he said. "A black man with a white mother could turn out to be one who can lift America from her fall. "Would God allow Barack to be president of a country that has been so racist, so evil in its treatment of Hispanics, native Americans, blacks?" he asked. "Would God do something like that? Yeah. Of course he would. That's to show you that the stone that the builders rejected has become the headstone of the corner. This is a sign to you. It's the time of our rise. It's the time that we should take our place. The future is all about you." "That's why you have never heard me make any comment," he explained. "I love that brother, and I want to see that brother successful. I don't want to say anything that would hurt that brother, and I don't want them to use me or the Nation of Islam." Returning to the theme that Obama is a mystical figure, Farrakhan said, he "is not the Messiah for sure, but anytime he gives you a sign of uniting races, ethnic groups, ideologies, religions and makes people feel a sense of oneness, that's not necessarily Satan's work, that is, I believe, the work of God." He went on to point out that when religious scholars talk about Christ or the Islamic Mahdi, they never talk in racial terms - again, pointing to Obama's mixed racial background. - - - - Read Full Report |
| College associate editor says 'Obama is my Jesus' |
'I've officially been saved, and soon, the rest of the country will be too' WORLDNETDAILY - October 16, 2008 An associate editor of the campus newspaper at Massachusetts' Smith College has joined the chorus attributing to Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama messianic characteristics, but she has gone one step further, calling Obama her "Jesus."
"Obama is my homeboy. And I'm not saying that because he's black - I'm saying that in reference to those Urban Outfitters T-shirts from a couple years ago that said, 'Jesus is my homeboy.' Yes, I just said it. Obama is my Jesus," wrote Maggie Mertens in the Smithsophian's commentary section recently under the headline: "I Will Follow Him: Obama As My Personal Jesus."
"While you may be overtly religious and find this to be idol-worshipping, or may be overtly politically correct and just know that everything in that sentence could be found offensive, I'm afraid it's true anyway," she wrote.
The writing prompted P.J. Gladnick, in a posting on NewsBusters.org, to express concern about Mertens' dedication to her "Jesus."
He cited her conclusion: "I've officially been saved, and soon, whether they like it or not, the rest of the country will be too. I will follow him, all the way to the White House, and I'll be standing there in our nation's capital in January 2009, when Barack Obama is inaugurated as the 44th president of the United States of America. Mideast leader: Obama a Muslim who studied in Islamic schools
|
Says Arab world campaign contributions 'may enable him to win U.S. presidency'WORLDNETDAILY - By Aaron Klein - October 17, 2008JERUSALEM - Sen. Barack Obama is a Muslim of Kenyan origins who studied in Islamic schools and whose campaign may have been financed by people in the Islamic and African worlds, Libyan leader Muammar Gadhafi said during a recent televised national rally. "There are elections in America now. Along came a black citizen of Kenyan African origins, a Muslim, who had studied in an Islamic school in Indonesia. His name is Obama," said Gadhafi in little-noticed remarks he made at a rally marking the anniversary of the 1986 U.S. air raid on his country. The remarks, translated by the Middle East Media Research Institute, MEMRI, were aired on Al Jazeera in June. The video also has been posted on YouTube and can be seen here. "All the people in the Arab and Islamic world and in Africa applauded this man," continued Gadhafi. "They welcomed him and prayed for him and for his success, and they may have even been involved in legitimate contribution campaigns to enable him to win the American presidency. "We are hoping that this black man will take pride in his African and Islamic identity, and in his faith, and that [he will know] that he has rights in America, and that he will change America from evil to good, and that America will establish relations that will serve it well with other peoples, especially the Arabs," Gadhafi said. - - - - Read Full Report

Claims electing Democrat will result in fewer abortions than repealing Roe WORLDNETDAILY - By Drew Zahn - October 3, 2008 A group of Christian supporters of Barack Obama - who has a 100 percent pro-abortion Senate voting record - have created a website touting the Democratic presidential candidate as the most pro-life choice in November's election.
The Pro-Life Pro-Obama website argues that Obama's economic and health care plans and support of programs for the poor will do more for reducing abortions in the U.S. than the positions of his Republican opponent, Sen. John McCain.
The site also claims Obama's plans will reduce the number of abortions more than even overturning the 1973 Roe v. Wade Supreme Court decision that launched the legalization of abortion across the country.
The site's spokesman, author Douglas W. Kmiec, a former professor and U.S. assistant attorney general under Reagan, writes, "After 35 years, a new approach is needed. Too many unborn lives are being lost as we wait for judges to get it right. Barack Obama's strengthening of support for prenatal care, health care, maternity leave, and adoption will make the difference." - - - - Read Full Report

| PA Arabs in Gaza Campaigning for Barack Obama |
ARUTZ SHEVA (Israeli National News) - By Nissan Ratzlav-Katz - October 27, 2008 A Palestinian Authority newspaper reported on Sunday that Arab residents of Gaza are randomly calling Americans at home in hopes of persuading them to vote for Democratic candidate Senator Barack Obama in next month's US presidential election.
The article in Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, first noted and translated by Palestinian Media Watch, quotes a young man from the Hamas-controlled Gaza region as saying, "We dial random numbers and try to call people [in the United States] without knowing their identity or their affiliation...." He reportedly uses "Internet sites that allow making free calls... in order to use them for the campaign supporting Obama." . . .
Previous Support From Gaza Abu Jayyab's freelance phone campaign for Obama in the last weeks of the American presidential race has not been the first time the Illinois senator has gotten such help. An Al-Jazeera TV report during the Democratic primaries featured Abu Jayyab as well, when he was busy organizing calls to American voters to persuade them to vote for Obama over then-candidate Sen. Hillary Clinton.
Other types of assistance have also been forthcoming from Gaza. In July of this year, Pamela Geller of the Atlas Shrugs blog revealed documents purporting to show that the Obama campaign received nearly $30,000 from two brothers living in Rafiah, in Hamas-controlled Gaza, during 2007.
Earlier, during an April 2008 interview with WABC radio and WorldNetDaily, Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh's Gaza-based political advisor Ahmed Yousef said, "Actually, we like Mr. Obama. We hope he will [win] the election and I do believe he is like John Kennedy, great man with great principle." - - - - Read Full Report |

Agreement with Muslims pledged to protect terrorists, throttle Christians, impose Shariah WORLDNETDAILY - By Jerome R. Corsi - October 19, 2008 NEW YORK - A controversial Kenyan leader for whom Sen. Barack Obama not only campaigned but raised almost $1 million during the run-up to that nation's 2007 presidential election, concluded a written agreement with Muslim leaders stipulating that if they delivered him the Muslim vote, he would in turn, once elected, change the constitution to declare Islamic law as the ruling authority in Muslim-dominated regions, protect terrorists and muzzle Christian evangelism.
WND previously documented that Obama supported and campaigned for Kenya opposition leader Raila Odinga during a 2006 senatorial "fact-finding" trip to Kenya and subsequently reported on documents revealing Obama's part in raising almost $1 million for Odinga.
According to a BBC report, Odinga says Obama's father was his maternal uncle. Barack Obama Sr., a Kenyan, married the Democratic presidential candidates' American mother while both were attending the University of Hawaii.
Odinga took over the office of prime minister in Kenya after his campaign called for protests of an election he lost by more than 200,000 votes to incumbent Mwai Kibaki. The resulting violence by marauding Muslim mobs left 1,000 people dead, hundreds of thousands displaced from their homes and 800 Christian churches damaged or destroyed. No Islamic mosques were damaged, however.
Among the worst attacks occurred when several dozen women and children sought refuge in a Christian church which mobs burned down on top of them.
WND has reported that the violence appears to have been part of Odinga's campaign strategy. Former members of Odinga's Orange Democratic Movement party, or ODM, claim Obama did not call on Odinga to drop his voter-fraud campaign or withdraw from his pursuit of the presidency even after he lost and the violence erupted.
WND has confirmed that at one point, then-United Nations Secretary General Kofi Annan and U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice actually pressured Kenyan Vice President Kolonzo to step down from his position to bring the Odinga-connected Luo-mob protest violence to an end by appointing Odinga vice president so he could assume the nation's second highest political office.
When Kolonzo refused to step down, Annan and Rice proposed the Odinga-inspired plan of appointing him as prime minister, effectively allowing Odinga to share the head-of-state position with Kibaki, a solution that was adopted.
Now WND has obtained a copy of Odinga's agreement with Sheik Abdullahi Abdi, the chairman of the National Muslim Leaders Forum, that outlined plans, among other things, for wide-ranging attacks on Christians.
In the August 2007 document, Odinga promised that within six months of becoming president he would "rewrite the Constitution of Kenya to recognize Shariah as the only true law sanctioned by the Holy Quran for Muslim declared religions."
While in Kenya earlier this month, WND interviewed several Christians who had been officials in Odinga's ODM, but who had left the party and abandoned Odinga after learning of his agreement with Muslims. Their names cannot be disclosed here as they fear for their lives.
Those sources, considered highly credible, told WND there are several versions of the agreement that have been floated around on the Internet, but that the document reproduced by WND is authentic. In fact, they went through the document line by line with WND to confirm its legitimacy. . . .
The plan apparently was to turn regions of Kenya, which has long been a Christian-majority nation, into Islamic states. - - - - Read Full Report

Corsi releases statement blocked by Kenya Soldiers detained WND reporter, quashing announcement of Obama findings WORLDNETDAILY - October 17, 2008 WND is publishing for the first time the prepared opening statement by Jerome Corsi for the scheduled Oct. 7 press conference in Nairobi that was shut down when he was detained by Kenyan military and immigration authorities. ... From the Statement:
... Odinga's 2007 presidential campaign strategy called for exploiting anti-Kikuyu sentiments, claiming victory and charging voter fraud even if the campaign knew the election had been legitimately lost and being willing to fan the flames of ethnic tribal tensions and use violence as a last resort by calling for mass action which led to the destruction of properties, injuries, loss of life and the displacement of over 500,000 Kenyans. This was to create a situation forcing the Electoral Commission of Kenya to declare Odinga the winner or having him declare himself, by force, "The People's President" at a rally in Uhuru Park. Even though Odinga has not fulfilled his promises to the Muslims who voted for him, he continues to cause concern among Kenyan Christians, because he has not declared his position on Shariah law and the Kadhi's Court in Kenya. - - - -

Poetry also lambastes 'Sweet Jesus,' mocks 'Onward Christian Soldiers' WORLDNETDAILY - May 2, 2008 The man who heavily influenced U.S. Sen. Barack Obama during his growing years wrote poetry praising the aggression of communism, criticizing "Sweet Jesus" and mocking the traditional hymn "Onward Christian Soldiers," according to an advocate for media accuracy.
WND reported earlier when Cliff Kincaid wrote at Accuracy in Media about the link between Frank Marshall Davis, a member of the old Moscow-controlled Communist Party USA, and Obama, who cited a mysterious "Frank" in his book.
Now Kincaid has uncovered poetry written by Davis that hails the Soviet Union's Red Army, with a call to "Smash on, victory-eating Red Army," and a wide range of attacks on or mockery of Christianity. . . .
"Davis' poem, 'To the Red Army,' says that 'rich industrialists' in Washington and London wanted Hitler to win and 'wipe Communism from the globe,'" Kincaid said, adding, "One Davis poem, 'Onward Christian Soldiers,' mocks the Christian hymn by the same name. It talks of Africans being killed with 'Christian gun' instead of a spear by the missionaries following 'the religion of Sweet Jesus.' . . .
The writings of Davis are being reviewed because he served as a father-figure to Obama, a leading candidate for the Democratic nomination for U.S. president. - - - - Read Full Report
Black Racists Recruited to Guide the Jihad FRONTPAGE MAGAZINE - By John Perazzo - October 10, 2008Black Muslim lawyer Khalid Abdullah Tariq al-Mansour recently made news when it was revealed that he was a patron of Barack Obama and recommended him for admission to Harvard Law School in 1988. Back in the 1960s, al-Mansour, whose "slave name" was then Don Warden, was deeply involved in Bay Area racial politics as founder of a group called the African American Association. A close personal adviser to Huey Newton and Bobby Seale, al-Mansour helped the pair establish the Black Panther Party but later broke with them when they entered coalitions with white radical groups. After becoming a Muslim, al-Mansour found not only an ideological justification for his racism but also a political purpose. That was, in the words of a memorandum produced by the Muslim Brotherhood and seized by the FBI as part of its probe of the Holy Land Foundation, to "eliminate and destroy the Western civilization from within." - - - - Read Full Report |

Rules voters don't have standing to 'police' constitutional requirements for president WORLDNETDAILY - By Drew Zahn - October 25, 2008 A lawsuit filed by Democratic attorney Philip Berg alleging that Sen. Barack Obama is ineligible to be president was dismissed by a federal judge yesterday on grounds that Berg lacks standing to bring the lawsuit.
In a 34-page memorandum that accompanied the court order, the Hon. R. Barclay Surrick concludes that ordinary citizens can't sue to ensure that a presidential candidate actually meets the constitutional requirements of the office.
Surrick defers to Congress, saying that the legislature could determine "that citizens, voters, or party members should police the Constitution's eligibility requirements for the Presidency," but that it would take new laws to grant individual citizens that ability. . . .
As WND reported, Berg filed suit in U.S. District Court in August, alleging Obama is not a natural-born citizen and is thus ineligible to serve as president of the United States. Berg demanded that Obama provide documentation to the court to verify that the candidate was born in Hawaii, as Obama contends, and not in Kenya, as Berg believes.
Surrick did not rule on the birth certificate controversy, though he did express skepticism over the notion that a foreign-born Obama would have escaped the primaries without being discovered. . . .
Berg told America's Right that even if he technically can't hold Obama accountable to the Constitution, someone should. He plans to appeal his case to the Third Circuit Court of Appeals and then to the United States Supreme Court. Read Full Report

PHILADELPHIA - A federal judge has dismissed a lawsuit challenging Barack Obama's qualifications to be president. U.S. District Judge R. Barclay Surrick on Friday night rejected the suit by attorney Philip J. Berg, who alleged that Obama was not a U.S. citizen and therefore ineligible for the presidency. Berg claimed that Obama is either a citizen of his father's native Kenya or became a citizen of Indonesia after he moved there as a boy. Obama was born in Hawaii to an American mother and a Kenyan father. His parents divorced and his mother married an Indonesian man. Internet-fueled conspiracy theories question whether Obama is a "natural-born citizen" as required by the Constitution for a presidential candidate and whether he lost his citizenship while living abroad. - - - - Read Full ReportSupremes asked to halt Tuesday's voteConstitutional crisis feared over Obama's 'qualifications'WORLDNETDAILY - October 30, 2008The U.S. Supreme Court is being asked to help the nation avoid a constitutional crisis by halting Tuesday's election until Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama documents his eligibility to run for the top office in the nation. - - - - Read Full ReportObama's birth certificate sealed by Hawaii governorSays Democratic senator must make request to obtain original documentWORLDNETDAILY - By Jerome R. Media's Presidential Bias and Decline
|
Columnist Michael Malone Looks at Slanted Election Coverage and the Reasons WhyABC NEWS [American Broadcasting Companies, Inc./The Walt Disney Company] - Column By Michael S. Malone - October 24, 2008The traditional media are playing a very, very dangerous game -- with their readers, with the Constitution and with their own fates. The sheer bias in the print and television coverage of this election campaign is not just bewildering, but appalling. And over the last few months I've found myself slowly moving from shaking my head at the obvious one-sided reporting, to actually shouting at the screen of my television and my laptop computer. But worst of all, for the last couple weeks, I've begun -- for the first time in my adult life -- to be embarrassed to admit what I do for a living. A few days ago, when asked by a new acquaintance what I did for a living, I replied that I was "a writer," because I couldn't bring myself to admit to a stranger that I'm a journalist. You need to understand how painful this is for me. I am one of those people who truly bleeds ink when I'm cut. I am a fourth-generation newspaperman. As family history tells it, my great-grandfather was a newspaper editor in Abilene, Kan., during the last of the cowboy days, then moved to Oregon to help start the Oregon Journal (now the Oregonian). My hard-living -- and when I knew her, scary -- grandmother was one of the first women reporters for the Los Angeles Times. And my father, though profoundly dyslexic, followed a long career in intelligence to finish his life (thanks to word processors and spellcheckers) as a very successful freelance writer. I've spent 30 years in every part of journalism, from beat reporter to magazine editor. And my oldest son, following in the family business, so to speak, earned his first national byline before he earned his drivers license. So, when I say I'm deeply ashamed right now to be called a "journalist," you can imagine just how deep that cuts into my soul. Now, of course, there's always been bias in the media. Human beings are biased, so the work they do, including reporting, is inevitably colored. Hell, I can show you 10 different ways to color variations of the word "said" -- muttered, shouted, announced, reluctantly replied, responded, etc. -- to influence the way a reader will apprehend exactly the same quote. We all learn that in Reporting 101, or at least in the first few weeks working in a newsroom. But what we are also supposed to learn during that same apprenticeship is to recognize the dangerous power of that technique, and many others, and develop built-in alarms against them. But even more important, we are also supposed to be taught that even though there is no such thing as pure, Platonic objectivity in reporting, we are to spend our careers struggling to approach that ideal as closely as possible. That means constantly challenging our own prejudices, systematically presenting opposing views and never, ever burying stories that contradict our own world views or challenge people or institutions we admire. If we can't achieve Olympian detachment, than at least we can recognize human frailty -- especially in ourselves. Reporting Bias For many years, spotting bias in reporting was a little parlor game of mine, watching TV news or reading a newspaper article and spotting how the reporter had inserted, often unconsciously, his or her own preconceptions. But I always wrote it off as bad judgment and lack of professionalism, rather than bad faith and conscious advocacy. Sure, being a child of the '60s I saw a lot of subjective "New" Journalism, and did a fair amount of it myself, but that kind of writing, like columns and editorials, was supposed to be segregated from "real" reporting, and, at least in mainstream media, usually was. The same was true for the emerging blogosphere, which by its very nature was opinionated and biased. But my complacent faith in my peers first began to be shaken when some of the most admired journalists in the country were exposed as plagiarists, or worse, accused of making up stories from whole cloth. I'd spent my entire professional career scrupulously pounding out endless dreary footnotes and double-checking sources to make sure that I never got accused of lying or stealing someone else's work -- not out of any native honesty, but out of fear: I'd always been told to fake or steal a story was a firing offense & indeed, it meant being blackballed out of the profession. And yet, few of those worthies ever seemed to get fired for their crimes -- and if they did they were soon rehired into even more prestigious jobs. It seemed as if there were two sets of rules: one for us workaday journalists toiling out in the sticks, and another for folks who'd managed, through talent or deceit, to make it to the national level. Meanwhile, I watched with disbelief as the nation's leading newspapers, many of whom I'd written for in the past, slowly let opinion pieces creep into the news section, and from there onto the front page. Personal opinions and comments that, had they appeared in my stories in 1979, would have gotten my butt kicked by the nearest copy editor, were now standard operating procedure at the New York Times, the Washington Post, and soon after in almost every small town paper in the U.S. But what really shattered my faith -- and I know the day and place where it happened -- was the war in Lebanon three summers ago. The hotel I was staying at in Windhoek, Namibia, only carried CNN, a network I'd already learned to approach with skepticism. But this was CNN International, which is even worse. I sat there, first with my jaw hanging down, then actually shouting at the TV, as one field reporter after another reported the carnage of the Israeli attacks on Beirut, with almost no corresponding coverage of the Hezbollah missiles raining down on northern Israel. The reporting was so utterly and shamelessly biased that I sat there for hours watching, assuming that eventually CNNi would get around to telling the rest of the story & but it never happened. The Presidential Campaign But nothing, nothing I've seen has matched the media bias on display in the current presidential campaign. Republicans are justifiably foaming at the mouth over the sheer one-sidedness of the press coverage of the two candidates and their running mates. But in the last few days, even Democrats, who have been gloating over the pass -- no, make that shameless support -- they've gotten from the press, are starting to get uncomfortable as they realize that no one wins in the long run when we don't have a free and fair press. I was one of the first people in the traditional media to call for the firing of Dan Rather -- not because of his phony story, but because he refused to admit his mistake -- but, bless him, even Gunga Dan thinks the media is one-sided in this election. Now, don't get me wrong. I'm not one of those people who think the media has been too hard on, say, Republican vice presidential nominee Gov. Sarah Palin, by rushing reportorial SWAT teams to her home state of Alaska to rifle through her garbage. This is the big leagues, and if she wants to suit up and take the field, then Gov. Palin better be ready to play. The few instances where I think the press has gone too far -- such as the Times reporter talking to prospective first lady Cindy McCain's daughter's MySpace friends -- can easily be solved with a few newsroom smackdowns and temporary repostings to the Omaha bureau. No, what I object to (and I think most other Americans do as well) is the lack of equivalent hardball coverage of the other side -- or worse, actively serving as attack dogs for the presidential ticket of Sens. Barack Obama, D-Ill., and Joe Biden, D-Del. If the current polls are correct, we are about to elect as president of the United States a man who is essentially a cipher, who has left almost no paper trail, seems to have few friends (that at least will talk) and has entire years missing out of his biography. That isn't Sen. Obama's fault: His job is to put his best face forward. No, it is the traditional media's fault, for it alone (unlike the alternative media) has had the resources to cover this story properly, and has systematically refused to do so. Why, for example to quote the lawyer for Republican presidential nominee Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., haven't we seen an interview with Sen. Obama's grad school drug dealer -- when we know all about Mrs. McCain's addiction? Are Bill Ayers and Tony Rezko that hard to interview? All those phony voter registrations that hard to scrutinize? And why are Sen. Biden's endless gaffes almost always covered up, or rationalized, by the traditional media? Joe the Plumber The absolute nadir (though I hate to commit to that, as we still have two weeks before the election) came with Joe the Plumber. Middle America, even when they didn't agree with Joe, looked on in horror as the press took apart the private life of an average person who had the temerity to ask a tough question of a presidential candidate. So much for the standing up for the little man. So much for speaking truth to power. So much for comforting the afflicted and afflicting the comfortable, and all of those other catchphrases we journalists used to believe we lived by. I learned a long time ago that when people or institutions begin to behave in a matter that seems to be entirely against their own interests, it's because we don't understand what their motives really are. It would seem that by so exposing their biases and betting everything on one candidate over another, the traditional media is trying to commit suicide -- especially when, given our currently volatile world and economy, the chances of a successful Obama presidency, indeed any presidency, is probably less than 50/50. Furthermore, I also happen to believe that most reporters, whatever their political bias, are human torpedoes ... and, had they been unleashed, would have raced in and roughed up the Obama campaign as much as they did McCain's. That's what reporters do. I was proud to have been one, and I'm still drawn to a good story, any good story, like a shark to blood in the water. So why weren't those legions of hungry reporters set loose on the Obama campaign? Who are the real villains in this story of mainstream media betrayal? The editors. The men and women you don't see; the people who not only decide what goes in the paper, but what doesn't; the managers who give the reporters their assignments and lay out the editorial pages. They are the real culprits. Bad Editors Why? I think I know, because had my life taken a different path, I could have been one: Picture yourself in your 50s in a job where you've spent 30 years working your way to the top, to the cockpit of power ... only to discover that you're presiding over a dying industry. The Internet and alternative media are stealing your readers, your advertisers and your top young talent. Many of your peers shrewdly took golden parachutes and disappeared. Your job doesn't have anywhere near the power and influence it did when your started your climb. The Newspaper Guild is too weak to protect you any more, and there is a very good chance you'll lose your job before you cross that finish line, 10 years hence, of retirement and a pension. In other words, you are facing career catastrophe -- and desperate times call for desperate measures. Even if you have to risk everything on a single Hail Mary play. Even if you have to compromise the principles that got you here. After all, newspapers and network news are doomed anyway -- all that counts is keeping them on life support until you can retire. And then the opportunity presents itself -- an attractive young candidate whose politics likely matches yours, but more important, he offers the prospect of a transformed Washington with the power to fix everything that has gone wrong in your career. With luck, this monolithic, single-party government will crush the alternative media via a revived fairness doctrine, re-invigorate unions by getting rid of secret votes, and just maybe be beholden to people like you in the traditional media for getting it there. And besides, you tell yourself, it's all for the good of the country ... This is the opinion of the columnist and in no way reflects the opinion of ABC News. Michael S. Malone is one of the nation's best-known technology writers. How 2008 presidential election demolished credibility of 'mainstream' press WORLDNETDAILY - October 2, 2008 The mask is off. The pretense over.
After decades of pretending they're not biased leftward - even though everyone else knew it - America's "mainstream media" have finally, during 2008, dropped the façade of fairness and impartiality.
- The big media openly worship Barack Obama. MSNBC's Chris Matthews, upon listening to Obama speak, says almost mystically, "I felt this thrill going up my leg." Rolling Stone magazine rhapsodizes, "There is a sense of dignity, even majesty, about him ...
- For its October cover, The Atlantic magazine hires a photographer who intentionally photographs John McCain to look ugly and threatening. ("I left his eyes red and his skin looking bad," she later admits, adding, "maybe it was somewhat irresponsible for [the Atlantic] to hire me."
- The New York Times publishes Barack Obama's op-ed on Iraq policy, but refuses to run McCain's op-ed. At the same time, all three network's news anchors tag along with Obama like groupies on his overseas stump tour, while McCain receives scant media coverage.
- The pregnancy of Sarah Palin's teen daughter is national news, as is the presence in the Alaska governor's mansion of a tanning bed (which Palin paid for herself). But Obama being mentored and nurtured for years by terrorists (William Ayers), communists (Frank Marshall Davis) and America-hating racists (Rev. Jeremiah Wright), which helped shape him into the most left-wing, America-blaming, radically pro-abortion and tyrant-appeasing presidential candidate in U.S. history, is not news.
Yes, the media have long been biased to the left. But this year it's different. This year, the mask has come off and the real face of the mainstream media - or MSM as they're popularly called - has been revealed for all to see. And it ain't pretty. - - - - Read Full ReportAlso:Study: McCain coverage mostly negativeTHE POLITICO [Allbritton Communications Co] - By Michael Calderone - October 22, 2008The good news for John McCain? | "I don't know who's writing your questions,": Obama campaign cuts off WFTV after interview with Joe Biden |
ORLANDO SUN-SENTINEL [Tribune Company] > Entertainment & TV Blog - By Hal Boedeker - October 24, 2008 WFTV-Channel 9's Barbara West conducted a satellite interview with Sen. Joe Biden on Thursday. A friend says it's some of the best entertainment he's seen recently. What do you think?
West wondered about Sen. Barack Obama's comment, to Joe the Plumber, about spreading the wealth. She quoted Karl Marx and asked how Obama isn't being a Marxist with the "spreading the wealth" comment.
"Are you joking?" said Biden, who is Obama's running mate. "No," West said.
West later asked Biden about his comments that Obama could be tested early on as president. She wondered if the Delaware senator was saying America's days as the world's leading power were over.
"I don't know who's writing your questions," Biden shot back.
Biden so disliked West's line of questioning that the Obama campaign canceled a WFTV interview with Jill Biden, the candidate's wife.
"This cancellation is non-negotiable, and further opportunities for your station to interview with this campaign are unlikely, at best for the duration of the remaining days until the election," wrote Laura K. McGinnis, Central Florida communications director for the Obama campaign.
McGinnis said the Biden cancellation was "a result of her husband's experience yesterday during the satellite interview with Barbara West." - - - - Read Full Report

| Voting based on emotions |
OneNewsNow - By Allie Martin - September 15, 2008 An African-American businessman says he cannot, in good conscience, support Senator Barack Obama's bid for the White House.
Joe Green is president of Hensley Broadcasting and, in 2007, became the first African-American to own an FCC-licensed radio station in central Pennsylvania. He wrote an article recently on his website JGMinistries.net titled "Why do black people love Barack Obama?" In the op-ed piece, Green said that, as a Christian, his first responsibility is to Jesus Christ and not to a particular political party or candidate. Many people, according to Green, are voting for Senator Obama (D-Illinois) for emotional reasons.
"And I mention people like my father and his generation that has [sic] gone through a lot of persecution and racism because of the color of their skin. And because of that, this, to many of them -- and I'm not saying all of them -- but to many of them, this is almost like a thing that is a fulfillment for them because this is a hope and dream they've had to be considered equal with everyone else," he contends. But Green, who is also a minister, says Senator Obama has made it clear where he stands on issues such as special rights for homosexuals and abortion. "Not only is [Obama] for abortion rights for any circumstance, but [while a state lawmaker] he even voted against the Born Alive Infant Protection Act, which was a law that was going to protect an unborn child who survived an abortion attempt," he adds. Green confesses he has come under attack from others in the African-American community for his views. Original Report |

ARUTZ SHEVA (Israeli National News) - By Gil Ronen - October 24, 2008Jewish voters in the U.S. have increased their support for Senator Barack Obama (D-IL) for president since he won the Democratic nomination in June. They now favor Obama over Senator John McCain (R-AZ) by more than 3 to 1, 74 percent to 22 percent. The pattern of support for Obama among Jews is different from that in the general population. Support for the Democratic candidate was fairly stable from June through September, but rose sharply in October, in an apparent reaction to the U.S. economic crisis. By contrast, support for Obama among Jewish voters expanded more gradually, from just over 60 percent in June and July to 66 percent in August, 69 percent in September. Support identical to 2004 According to Gallup, the current level of support among U.S. Jews for Obama is identical to the support John Kerry and John Edwards received from the Jews in the 2004 presidential election. It is only six percentage points lower than what Al Gore and Joe Lieberman received in 2000, which was the first time that a Jew appeared on the presidential ticket of a major party. . . . About 56 percent of Jews are Democrats, 29 percent are independent, and only about 15 percent are Republicans. Record holder: ReaganExcept for Jimmy Carter in 1980, no Democratic presidential candidate has failed to win a majority of American Jews since in the last 80 years. The all-time Republican record holder for Jewish support was Ronald Reagan, who earned 39 percent of the Jewish vote that year. - - - - Read Full Report |

Barack Obama and his running mate, Sen. Joe Biden, explaining the two will "not deceive the [American] people regarding the danger of terrorism [and the need] to fight it."
Nadia Damiati, a columnist for the Syrian government daily Al-Thawra, wrote Obama's and Biden's campaign slogan of "change and experience" indicated that "the Americans aspire for their country to take a moral stance, be an honest broker, act in accordance with the U.S. Constitution, not ignite wars, not spill the blood of innocents in the world, and not deceive the [American] people regarding the danger of terrorism [and the need] to fight it."
The newspaper entry was translated into English by the Middle East Media Research Institute, or MEMRI.
Obama's positive coverage in Syria follows some Syrian-related controversy for the presidential candidate after it was revealed one of his key foreign policy advisers traveled to Damascus where he reportedly urged Syrian officials to fast-track negotiations with Israel. - - - - Read Full Report

| New Poll Shows Arab-Americans Favor Obama over McCain in Presidential Race |
VOICE OF AMERICA [Broadcasting Board of Governors/Indy US Non-Mil International Broadcasting] - By Mohamed Elshinnawi - September 26, 2008 Washington -- A new nationwide poll shows that among likely Arab-American voters in November's U.S. presidential election, Democratic candidate Sen. Barack Obama holds a 21-point lead over Republican candidate Sen. John McCain. Mohamed Elshinnawi has more on what pollsters are calling an historic shift among Arab-Americans toward the Democratic Party.
Arab-American voters align very closely with other Americans on domestic issues such as the economy, jobs, health care and education. But an opinion survey by the private polling group Zogby International found that dissatisfaction with the domestic and foreign policyperformance of the Bush administration is eroding the Republican Party base among a majority of Arab-American voters.
James Zogby, brother of pollster John Zogby, is president of the Arab American Institute, which commissioned the survey released Sept. 18. James Zogby says the results confirm there is an important ideological shift taking place among Arab-American voters. - - - - Read Full Report |

| Pro-Obama, Muslim-led voter registration in mosques |
ONE NEWS NOW [American Family News Network] - By Chad Groening - October 6, 2008 A leading critic of Islam isn't surprised there has been virtually no coverage or action taken against a Muslim group that has been running an illegal "get out the vote" campaign in swing-state mosques.
The group, Muslim Americans for Obama [MAFO], insists that all of its voter registration activity is non-partisan, despite the fact that its mission statement says it was launched in August 2008 "to provide a vehicle for Muslim-American supporters of Barack Obama to organize and mobilize our fellow citizens to get out the vote to elect Barack Obama the next president of the United States." Continuing, the group's website states: "Although there is only a short period of time until the election..., there is much work to be done for supporters of Barack Obama's candidacy. [MAFO] was formed to offer a vehicle for Muslim-Americans to mobilize quickly and effectively so that our community turns out in great numbers for Barack Obama on Election Day."
The "get out the vote" events are scheduled at mosques in Michigan, Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Virginia, and Ohio. Robert Spencer is director of Jihad Watch, a project of the David Horowitz Freedom Center. He argues MAFO may be skirting the law. "When they are running these voter registration drives at mosques, really it's essentially illegal because they are clearly trying to get people to vote for Obama -- and that's in violation of their tax-exempt status," Spencer charges. "So this is a group that is crossing the line and ought to be disciplined as such." The Jihad Watch leader, however, figures that is not likely to happen. "...I kind of doubt that they will be [disciplined], given the politically correct atmosphere nowadays," he says. "I wouldn't be the least surprised if no action is taken against them." - - - - Read Full Report
