Events & News To Share With Your Congregations

The Mary G. Rankin Scholarship Fund is accepting applications; the deadline is April 15. Find out more.

EYE 2011 is the Episcopal Church's triennial gathering for youth who have completed grades 9-12. Each diocese receives a limited number of slots; the registration deadline is March 30. Find out more.

Lay Members Sought For Diocesan Council

There are lay vacancies on Diocesan Council from Districts 3, 5 and 6 and people from those districts are invited to self-nominate to serve. Find out more.

Adult Mission Trip Still Accepting Participants

So far members of 10 congregations have signed up to join the Bishop in working with "Almost Heaven" Habitat for Humanity in Pendleton County, WV the week of July 10-16. Those interested should contact the Rev. Orion Davis as soon as possible. Find out more.

Community Garden Workshop

The Empowering Action Team of Diocesan Council is sponsoring a free workshop on community gardens on Saturday, March 26 at St. Gregory's, Parsippany. Find out more or download flyer.

"Successful Aging - You can get there from here!"

This workshop will provide realistic advice and action steps involving living wills, medical proxies, long term care, safe living, and more. Admission is free but space is limited. Register Now For Confirmation Retreats & Services

Now is the time to register for Confirmation services being held in May, and April 1 is the registration deadline for the last Confirmation Retreat, which will take place April 15-16 at Christ Church, Pompton Lakes.

Province II Conference With Stephanie Spellers

The Provincial Congregational Development Network of Province II is sponsoring a conference on May 5-6, 2011 at the Doubletree Hotel, East Syracuse, NY. The title of the conference is Anglicanism Remixed: Embracing the Other, Our Traditions and the Future. The conference leader and plenary speaker will be the Rev. Stephanie Spellers, author of Radical Welcome: Embracing God, The Other, and the Spirit of Transformation.

To find out more about this conference, read the Focus Issue of In Prov 2. All of the information about the conference, including the schedule and registration information is available on the Province II web site. The conference registration is only $120 per person until April 15, 2011 and includes two luncheons, dinner and materials. Register a "team" consisting of at least one clergy person and two lay people from the same congregation by April 15, 2011 and all sign in at the conference so that your team can receive a complimentary copy of Stephanie Spellers' book, Radical Welcome. Register before April 1, 2011 and your name will be entered into a drawing for a free night's stay at the hotel during the conference.

Parochial Reports

Parochial Reports were due March 1! Congratulations to the 46 congregations that have completed their filing. The Finance Office has begun to calculate and distribute Pledge Reconciliations for these congregations. If you have questions about how to complete the report, what information goes on which line, etc., please call us for help.

Monthly Pledge Invoices Now Sent Electronically

Beginning with March invoices, the monthly pledge invoices are being sent by email to the church office. Copies can be sent to treasurers, clergy-in-charge, or whomever else should receive one. If you didn't receive your March invoice, please contact the Finance Office pronto so we can sort out where it went.
