Greetings!
Well, quite a bang-up year we are having, eh? Drs. Bernie Seigel and Martin Rossman are with us this month - more on that in a minute. After all, it IS Spring, the sap is rising, and hope springs eternal. What is Springtime to you?
Springtime is many things to me - and one of those is my yearly ritual of Seeing Green Again. The snow has melted away leaving the branches of deciduous trees naked against the sky, the air is still crisp and my trusty new Blaze King stove is keeping my home toasty warm. Then, suddenly, one day, there's a slight green tint to the trees in the forest - and as the days pass, those green tips begin to grow and soon the various yellow green shade of new leaves turns the forest into a patchwork quilt. How interesting - all the colors we usually see in the autumn we see now in the Spring, kind of a preview of coming attractions.
I love Spring - it is a reminder of the generative power of Nature, how a seemingly dead world can spring back into life. In last Summer's issue of Healing Times we reported on a study showing that even five minutes of exercise around green trees can measurably improve your health and psyche.

To me Spring is about Love. In our upcoming Healing Times Radio interview with Bernie Seigel you will hear his observation that "if you do not love your life, your body may decide that death is a reasonable option." Love life and life will love you back!
Spring makes it easy to love life. Remember, if you take time to pay careful attention to the joys of Spring, you will be making a valuable deposit in your energy bank account. That's what Springtime is for me.
What is Springtime to you? Please share it with me here. I would love hearing from you.
This Issue
In this issue we will examine some ways of thinking globally and acting locally. "Help! I'm Trapped in a Tsunami Blonde Joke" is actually about ways we might take a hint from the recent events in Tunisia, Egypt, and other Middle East regimes and set ourselves free. "Healing Through Gardening" presents some important findings and useful suggestions - even for those who live in the city.
Conversations With Extraordinary People presents another opportunity to hear You Are What You Eat and Think with Joe and Terry Graedon, and an update on the upcoming show with the illustrious Bernie Siegel MD. Wisdom From The Web features some of the most powerful, touching, and illuminating clips that I think deserve to go viral - definitely worth checking out.
Video Highlights features my first published musical video (The Rose), and my public reading of Rumi poetry in a live coffee house setting. And be sure to check out For The Funny Bone - remember, he who laughs, lasts.

And, again, I would like to express my appreciation and gratitude to YOU for the integrity with which you are living your life and conducting your relationships, and for your support of my work.
If you are a Facebooker or Twitterer and please consider connecting with me online. Tell me what Spring is to you . . . or whatever you would like to share.
or/and
Using social media to pass important information along is part of the global healing process I discussed in my most recent book. As the Egyptians have shown us, word of mouth through the social network can move mountains; it will let me know that you appreciate my work, and I believe it can help us all heal.
What we want can happen - spread the word. After all, following the lines of thinking on my recent Healing Times conversation with Dr. Christakis,
the more whole and healthy your social networks are, the more you will be too!
Thank you, and Be Well,
Emmett Miller, MD
