The Teacher Feature this week is Mr. Brent Neal.  Mr. Neal has been teaching at Lutheran High North for five years.  Mr. Neal is a graduate of Bethany Lutheran School, LHN (c/o 1998) and Concordia University Texas.

Mr. Neal currently teaches Senior English and Multimedia and acts as the Technology Integration Coordinator for Lutheran High North.  Mr. Neal also is the Junior Varsity Soccer Coach.

Mr. Neal and his wife, Snow have three canine children: two Pugs and a mixed breed, two of whom were rescues.

Mr. Neal enjoys reading, basketball, soccer, cycling, paintball, movies, video games, locksport, and anything that involves Snow and the dogs.

Every month the faculty takes time to nominate students and choose by faculty vote a student from each class as the "Student of the Month". The nominations are based on teacher observations, on a day to day basis of our students in and out of the classroom. These students demonstrate their faith through actions, are examples of good behavior, promote an environment of academic excellence, show respect to the teachers and staff, and work well with other students. We think we have more than ten students in each class that are great kids with these same qualities, but we select one special student each month and acknowledge them as our most outstanding students. We introduce them in front of the student body at Tuesday announcements as well as highlight them on a bulletin board in the lobby of the school.

LAST CHANCE to sign up for the one day SAT prep class THIS SATURDAY @ our LHN campus from 9am to 3pm.You must sign up online with the company at their website www.rmass.com ASAP. Choose the state of Texas, the city of Houston and then LHN as the test site when you sign up. What to bring Saturday? Lunch, pencils, paper and a calculator.

Junior college admissions parent meeting next month on Wednesday, October 6^th at 6:00 pm in the LHN courtyard. Mark your calendar junior students and parents!!! Mrs. Lynn Eickemeyer , Academic Dean and Mrs. Mary Heath, College Advisor will highlight the college application process and answer questions.

ALL PARENTS - Wondering how to pay for college and what exactly is the required FAFSA form you have to fill out and file? Mark your calendars for a FINANCE 101 Meeting on Wednesday October 6^th at 7:15 pm in room 108. There will be an informative presentation by two financial planners who offer free of charge their college planning services to LHN parents. Roy Walters and Larry Mahoney have served our community for almost 10 years. They will be happy to meet with you individually after attending the meeting to go over your personal college planning needs.
