K.K. Kozik

Force Majeure, 2007

Etching and aquatint

36 x 20 inches

unframed

$1,700

K.K. Kozik works almost like a filmmaker.  Kozik's approach embodies active narration and visualization. Stylistically evocative of another time altogether, the work offers a realistic view into a particular, and seemingly mysterious lifestyle. Kozik's work derives from her own childhood recollections of adults and their behavior in polite society. Since the work pivots around the issues of interpersonal relationships, it can be easily relegated to domestic melodrama and kitsch if it were not for its intense compositional formalism and visual wit that forces the viewer to avoid safe clichés.

Amy Wilson

Reflection, 2007

Amy Wilson's small-scale watercolor drawings are unique reflections of the her creative process, in that each incorporates tiny, hand-written texts. Through her work Amy explores the tensions that exist between her private interior world, and the public world surrounding her. Her stories and observations, as well as commentary on current events and personal experiences, reveal the artist in an intimate way.

Irene Mamiye

Rays 001, 2008

Irene Mamiye is a fine art photographer who uses light, color and motion to explore the collision between the mediums of abstract expressionist art and photography. Her approach to the medium has evolved from the more conventional memorializing recording of events to a visual articulation of personal apprehensions through an abstract approach to the medium.
