They have always been one of L.A.and Southern California's favorite Irish bands. They have performed at the Los Angeles Irish Civic Day ceremonies many times, often at Ireland's 32 in the San Fernando Valley and they have been featured at Irish Fairs and events frequently through the years. www.wrathofmcgrath.net
The Line up of Irish Entertainment has been released and Irish Music and Dance fans will be happy to see that most of the best groups in Southern California are going to perform. Profiles on these great groups are coming in future weeks. The Countdown to Saint Patrick's Day

Patrick Facts
Pádraig is Irish for Patrick and the nickname for all us Irish, "Paddys" is derived from this cherished name. Patricius (in Latin) was born a Roman Subject in the land we know today as Britain, maybe around Wales. No one knows for sure when but some legends claim it was in 387AD. Most accounts say that he died in Ireland on March 17, 493AD. We know for sure that he was a Christian Missionary to Ireland in most of the later half on the Fifth Century ******************************************************** ONLY 48 DAYS TILL ST. PATRICK'S DAY!!

An Open Letter To Our Readers
|
Dear Irish News USA Readers,
My name is Máire Ní Cheallaigh and I work with RTE News and Nuacht, as well as TG4. It's the time of year where we
pitch documentary ideas and I thought it might be interesting to do one
about all the irish that are abroad and want to come home, and indeed
some of the people that have managed to come home. Before Christmas I
interviewed one man who was originally from Achill in County Mayo and
spent the majority of his life in Scotland and England and managed to
get sheltered housing in Mulranny with the help of Dr. Jerry Cowley in
the area. Would you know of many people in the Irish Centre who would
have an interest in returning? And of course, are there many Irish
speakers over there who would be willing to participate? All information would be appreciated. Thanks so much, Máire Ní Cheallaigh
