MORE GREEN THOUGHTS!!
EIGHTH ANNUAL L.A. COUNTY IRISH FAIR
to host a series of new events at FAIRPLEX.

Last week, we were happy to tell our readers that
the Friends of the  Irish Fair had announced plans for a
Mass to be celebrated at FAIRPLEX  on Sunday, March 7
at 10:00AM. The organizers have just now let Irish
E-Missives know that right after the service their will
be a RE-COMMITMENT CEREMONY for all couples who
wish to renew their marriage vows. In the ecumenical
spirit of the Irish Fair, the service is open to members
of all faiths.

Calling ALL Murphys!!
Another special feature of  IRISH DAYS at FAIRPLEX for
this year happens on  Saturday March 6, when
ALL MURPHYS will be given FREE admission.
ID will be required.
The Fair is going to continue this tradition in future years and you can  help decide which lucky Irish Family name will get in FREE!. Ballots will be available at the Information Booth, Music at the Fair Booth and the Irish News Booth: Write down the FAMILY NAME that you
would like to given FREE Admission in 2011.
The TOP TWO Family Names will be chosen to get in
FREE on either Saturday and Sunday in 2011. That is not all, simply by voting you enter yourself into a contest  to WIN a Celtic Gift Pack ($250.) provided by the
Irish News & Entertainment and participating advertisers. A lucky winner will be drawn each day on
THE MULLIGAN"S STAGE at the close of their last show.

Band Profiles:
Each week till the Irish Fair, we will tell you a
little about the Irish Groups that are scheduled.

The Wrath of McGrath
This delightful LA Irish Band is made up mostly of members of the McGrath Family. Terri and Evan McGrath founded the group and were known as Irish Eyes for their first few years as a band. They have always been one of L.A.and Southern California's favorite Irish bands. They have performed at the Los Angeles Irish Civic Day ceremonies many times, often at Ireland's 32 in the San Fernando Valley and they have been featured at Irish Fairs and events frequently through the years.

The Line up of Irish Entertainment has been released
and Irish Music and Dance fans will be happy to see that
most of the best groups in Southern California are
going to perform. Profiles on these great groups
are coming in future weeks.
The Muligans, Ken O'Malley and the Twilight Lords DUBLIN4, Odds Bodkins, Banshee in the Kitchen,
Rovers Three and the McCartan School of Irish Dance.
 Buskers may also be considered.
E-mail us here for more information.

Excerpted from an upcoming interview with Maria Butterly
for the  annual Irish Music Makers segment of the  March
Irish News & Entertainment.

Irish News & Entertainment (Q):
Tell us more about the current CD project?

Maria Butterly (MB):

"I have amazing players coming to Dublin to record, Fran Breen on drums who did the Commitments album. Bob Bernstein from Los Angeles on Pedal Steel guitar, who has recorded on everyones album from Alan Jackson to Mavericks and Gavin Murphy on keys/piano who did many recordings and tours with Riverdance."

Q: We understand you have a famous music producer interested in your project; can you tell our readers about that?

MB: My producer is brilliant; he is Bill Shanley who has recorded with Dubliners to Ray Davies, Mary Black, Sinead O'Connor. I want to
combine elements of the Celtic (American Country) Folk genre.
