Greetings!

The holiday season is upon us and we need to make the right food choices.  The article below can help you do that.  You can access our old newsletters at this link: Fitting Fitness In newsletter archive .  You may want to check out the November 2009 edition, The Holiday Meal is a 3000 Calorie Deal,  and remind yourself of the right choices to make this Thanksgiving meal.  Help us determine the best day and time for our Yoga class.  Click the link below for the class time that works best for you.  You can jump start your New Year's resolution with our 4 week Jump Start class.  See the details below.

You will notice that we do not have a recipe in this edition.  We will be sending out a special holiday recipe newsletter in the next two weeks for you to make healthy foods for your holiday parties.

It's all about Choices!

choices
When you work with Fitting Fitness In to lose weight you know that we never "diet".  "Diet" is a four letter word that we just don't use.  What you need to do is make wise, informed choices.
I have never told a client they can not eat something they love (I eat a piece of Dove Chocolate every day!).  But if you choose to eat the food then you need to choose to burn off the calories in some way.  When you think this way you make sure that the food item is worth the calories.  I can tell you that eating a donut (or as I call them "Do-Nots") is not worth the 45 minutes on the treadmill for me.  If you start to think about what you eat as choices you make based on how you will burn off the calories, you'll think twice about what you put in your mouth.

You need to be informed about what you're eating.  Read the food label so you know how many calories are in it.  Then you can make an informed decision when you choose to eat the food.

As we approach the Holiday season and all the foods associated with the Holiday gatherings, figure out what is worth the calories and what isn't.  Only eat what you will get the most pleasure out of eating and skip the rest.
