Greetings!

It's that time of year again!

If you're thinking about giving a Zentangle Kit as gift this season, we have a treat for you.

We also some great Zentangle images and a couple great stories.

Enjoy!

Zentangle Holiday Treat

As has become our custom, for the rest of this year, all you have to do is ask!

We'll tie a beautiful hand-dyed silk ribbon on your Zentangle Kit and Maria will letter a special gift card for you.

After you place your order, just send us an email with your order number and what you'd like Maria to write and we'll decorate your kit like this:

As Sandy wrote about her article in Cloth Paper Scissors, (see previous newsletter),

"If you have been trying to get your friends interested in Zentangle, buy them a Zentangle kit and/or some supplies, and package them with this issue of CPS. I can't think of a more perfect Christmas gift. :-)"

Zentangle Gecko

This delightful treat appeared in our email recently. Isn't it awesome? Looks like this was fun. Thanks, Patsy!

Zentangle Stories

We are always so grateful and humbled to read stories about how people are enjoying Zentangle. Here are two more:

Story 1 - "DK" - Seventh Grade Teacher
I must share with you, the marvelous impact Zentangle has had on my world.  I am a 7th grade teacher.  What more do I need to say about the stress levels on my students and my co-workers?  As fate would have it, I was in a shop that sells Zentangle materials and holds classes.  I was immediately smitten.  I am not artistic, yet this fascinated me.

Unable to afford a kit, I went home  and looked up your website.  The more I looked, the more interested I became.  The write up about using it to improve concentration, focus, and creativity was just what I was looking for for my students as I began to prepare them for state testing.  I brought the idea to my art teacher and we took off.

My students ran with the idea.  I bought them each a little notebook, purchased 2 dozen extra fine point Sharpies, and had the art teacher give a lesson on repeated patterns.  From there, we showed Zentangles from the web page, played quiet music, and let the students go.  We are planning several projects including a group tangle. What I want you to know is that EVERY single one of  my students is engaged in this activity.  Not just the gifted, or "artsy" kids, but all of them.  They all feel success and enjoyment.  I have gone a little nuts myself, with the purchase of a .005 pen and looking for even  smaller.  I always have a pad and pen with me, which often invites a comment or question.  My art teacher is also embracing tangling and we are slowly drawing in faculty members.

I will take my first "official" class in December and would love to join you in May for a teacher workshop.

I am making Zentangles that "represent" my grandchildren as gifts for them for Christmas.
Thank you so much for creating and  sharing Zentangles.

Please Note:
If you are creating Zentangles as presents, see our frames that
are custom made for Zentangles.

Story 2 - In a Hospital, "P"
I was turned on to Zentangles by [a Certified Zentangle Teacher]. She is a great person and has so much enthusiasm!  She wanted me to share this with you.

I recently had outpatient surgery and while I was hooked to my IV on the table waiting for my "turn", I was very anxious. Of course I had nothing with me to read or to write with to distract myself so I created a Zentangle in my head!

It was great to escape into the Zentangle world and temporarily forget about my impending procedure.

Everything went well and later that evening as I recuperated at home, I put my Zentangle on paper.

Thank you for this great way to relax and create.
