2012's Last CALTCP Training Opportunities 

 

SCE's Energy Education Center in Irwindale is hosting its last CALTCP training series of 2012. All three courses are free of charge and are required for CALTCP contractor certification.

What: C-10 Licensed Electricians: CALCTP Certified Elecrician

When: Five (5) consecutive Fridays, from October 19 to November 16.

 

What: Top Management: CALCTP Business Development Seminars Completions

When: October 24, 8:30am-4:30pm

 

What: Mid Management: CALCTP Systems Course Completion and Certification

When: November 1, 7:00am-5:00pm

Along with the recent terminology change to Customer's Authorized Agent (CAA) announced in last week's Special Edition, and the update to the Customer's Authorized Agent Agreement discussed in this edition, we've updated the e-mail addresses for Customer's Authorized Agent Support:

 

CAASupport-Projects@sce.com - for support on your pre-application submittal questions

 

CAASupport-Training@sce.com - for questions about previous training sessions for Customer's Authorized Agents, or to suggest future training events

 

Take a moment now to update your e-mail contact lists and filters with these new e-mail addresses. E-mails sent to the "APSupport" addresses will automatically route to the new "CAASupport" addresses during this transition.

Recognition Campaign "Numbers to Beat" Update

 

It's really anyone's guess who the five 2012 recognition campaign awardees will be because there's still time submit your project(s).

 

And as a reminder, you'll want to submit your multi-site projects by October 8 and single-site projects by October 11 for a higher possibility of application processing by year-end. Yet, all efforts will be made to continue processing applications submitted after these dates. See previously-released September 7 Special Edition.

 

Now here are a few of "the numbers to beat," or highest CAA numbers updated through August 30, 2012:

  • kWh savings - 11,751,000
  • kW savings - 3,200
  • Number of projects integrating controls completed -340
  • Number of self-nominated Distinguished Comprehensive Projects - 30 Is yours one of them?

If you said yes to two or more of these questions, your project could be the perfect self-nomination candidate for the 2012 Distinguished Comprehensive Project (DCP) Award!

  

      Q1) Does your project utilize one or more of the following?

  • Control solution(s) - e.g., occupancy sensors, timers, energy management systems (EMS), and any other solutions that automate energy management
  • Multiple technologies - e.g., HVAC & motors, lighting & refrigeration, or other combinations of technologies listed in the Solutions Directory

     Q2) Did your project overcome any challenges?

  • Complexities - e.g., multiple processes across various site locations
  • Constraints - e.g., project funding, timing, resource, and other

     Q3) Did your project utilize SCE's resources?

  • Training support - e.g., participated in one or more of the training opportunities offered through the Authorized Participant Education & Training Services or Energy Education Centers classes
  • Technical support - e.g., called in to the Technical Support Services line for questions on your project your questions answered on how to use the Online Application Tool, understand program eligibility requirements, and calculate energy savings

CAAs must submit a self-nomination form. This award is based on a point-based system, with the award recipient determined based upon the most points received.
