Joke of the Month
After every flight, pilots fill out a form called a gripe sheet, which conveys to the mechanics problems encountered with the aircraft during the flight that need repair or correction. The mechanics read and correct the problem, and then respond in writing on the lower half of the form
what remedial action was taken, and the pilot reviews the gripe sheets before the next flight.

Never let it be said that ground crews and engineers lack a sense of humor!
Here are some actual logged maintenance complaints and problems as
submitted by pilots and the solution recorded by maintenance engineers.
(P = the problem logged by the pilot.)
(S = the solution and action taken by the engineers.)

P: Left inside main tire almost needs replacement.
S: Almost replaced left inside main tire.

P: Test flight OK, except auto-land very rough.
S: Auto-land not installed on this aircraft.

P: Something loose in cockpit.
S: Something tightened in cockpit.

P: Dead bugs on windshield.
S: Live bugs on back-order.

P: Autopilot in altitude-hold mode produces a 200 feet per minute descent.
S: Cannot reproduce problem on ground.

P: Evidence of leak on right main landing gear.
S: Evidence removed.

P: DME volume unbelievably loud.
S: DME volume set to more believable level.

P: Friction locks cause throttle levers to stick.
S: That's what they're there for.

P: IFF inoperative.
S: IFF always inoperative in OFF mode.

P: Suspected crack in windshield.
S: Suspect you're right.

P: Number 3 engine missing.
S: Engine found on right wing after brief search.

P: Aircraft handles funny.
S: Aircraft warned to straighten up, fly right, and be serious.

P: Target radar hums.
S: Reprogrammed target radar with lyrics.

P: Mouse in cockpit.
S: Cat installed.

P: Noise coming from under instrument panel. Sounds like a midget pounding
on something with a hammer.

Critical Illinois Legislation News!

Illinois State Capitol
Illinois Senate Bill 28 is currently moving forward. The results of this bill, if finalized, would double fees for all commercial vehicles departing O'Hare and Midway Airports. The tax is initiated by the Metropolitan Pier and Exposition Authority (MPEA or McPier).

Through the tireless efforts of Jim Miller, former president, Illinois Limousine
Association (ILA), he helped win an initial victory, with Governor Pat Quinn issuing an
amendatory veto of Senate Bill 28 on March 26, 2010. However, on Friday, March 28, the
Illinois Legislature overrode the Governor's veto of Bill 28 before departing for the
Memorial Day weekend.
There is part of Senate Bill 28, referred to as a "cleanup" bill, that was not ruled on by
the General Assembly.

The call to action is for every business owner and interested party
to call or fax the four Illinois Senate and House leaders, expressing your deep concern
about the effects of this bill on the Chicagoland transportation industry.
Please contact these elected leaders now! Thank you!

Ravinia and Other Chicago Music Venues
The Lawn at Ravinia
Ravinia lawn show

Nothing speaks of a summer tradition more than a night at Ravinia. Founded in 1904,
Ravinia Festival is the oldest outdoor music festival in North America. While the original
park contained a casino and baseball diamond, the venues now include The Pavilion, The
Martin Theatre, Bennett-Gordon Hall, Terrace Seating and of course, The Lawn! A night at
this renowned location is truly "The Ravinia Experience."

The 2010 concert season began June 4 and runs through September 7. Ravinia is the summer
home to our famous Chicago Symphony Orchestra (CSO), but also hosts blues, jazz,
country-western and other performances.
Parking can truly be a hassle at Ravinia, with many streets blocked off. Why worry about
the problems of finding a spot, remembering where you parked, and oh yes, the stress of just
driving there? EC is your answer, whether a limousine, mini-coach or motor-coach for a
large group. We can store your picnic gear, chairs and blankets in our luggage storage area. www.ravinia.org

Other major concert venues that Executive Chauffeuring regularly services include:

Toyota Park (Bridgeview, Ill.)
Toyota Park is a soccer-specific stadium and home to Chicago Fire, members of Major League Soccer (MLS). It also transforms to a concert venue. The facility opened in June 2006.

Alpine Valley Music Theatre (East Troy, Wisc.)
Alpine Valley Music Theatre is a 37,000 capacity amphitheatre
built in 1977. A wooden roof
covers the 7,500-seat pavilion extending to a sprawling lawn for concert seating.
