NAREA Pre-Conference Initiative

The Reggio Emilia Approach: Participation of Parents, Children and Teachers
in the Daily Life of the School
and Educational Documentation

Lella Gandini (L) and Amelia Gambetti (2nd from L) introduced the program, shared experiences from Reggio Emilia, Italy and offered their perspectives. Educators from four North American schools presented their own identity and diversity as they shared their journeys of collaboration, organization, visible learning and parent participation: Simonetta Cittadini-Medina (3rd from L) with Ana Pineda from L'Atelier Preschool in Florida; Jen Kesselring (3rd from R) from Riverfield Country Day School in Oklahoma; Beth MacDonald (2nd from R) MacDonald Montessori School in Minnesota; and Susan Redmond (far R) from First Baptist Church Kindergarten in South Carolina.
