our vision and goals:
To make
academic excellence a valued aspiration of our communities as well as to "Train
Tomorrow's Workforce Today". CitiWide's
goal is to improve the skills of and foster improved employment opportunities
for low income families in Washington, D.C. Since 1993, we have trained and
provided services to over 15,500 individuals, 5,600 of whom are Latino and African
immigrants from South America, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Nigeria, Ghana, Togo,
Senegal, Gambia, Kenya and a host of other countries. Our programs and partnerships with other
nonprofit agencies and governmental offices provide workforce development services
to these families. The goal of the
program is to decrease the digital divide and other skill and opportunity
disparities between low-income immigrant persons and society at large and to
provide an avenue for employment in occupations that pay a livable wage. services we provide: CitiWide provides the
following services to DC families: *Computer Technology
Training (Software (Microsoft Office Training) and Hardware (Microsoft Office
IC3 Software and A+/Network+/Server+ Certifications) *Health Care Training: Nursing
Assistant and Home Health Aide; CPR/First AID; and Automated Electric
Defribulator (AED). *Education Program: GED;
ABE; ESL and Language Access Assistant Program Career Development Training *Immigration/Citizenship
Education Assistance, Arts and Cultural Enrichment *After-School and Summer
Programs for Youth ages 14-21 Years Old.
