We apologize for not publishing our weekly email newsletter for the past three months.  We have been undergoing some transition
following the resignation of our former Director of Health and Safety.  Fortunately, we have been able to hire a new Director of Health and Safety in the person of Mr. Isaiah Azubike, RN, MA, MS.  Read more about Isaiah here.  Thanks for your dedication and support.

CitiWide Computer and Nursing Center hires Director of Health and Safety, Mr. Isaiah Azubike, RN, MA, MS.  Isaiah is a dedicated psychiatric and mental health nursing professional with over 25 years of clinical and supervisory experience. Isaiah has 15 years of experience delivering classroom and clinical instructions, with concentration in psychiatric/mental health nursing and long-term care. He is skilled in psychiatric evaluation and care planning; proven experience in administration, classroom instruction and supervision of clinical students; and educational seminars. Isaiah is reliable, ethical health-care provider with ability to stay calm and intervene during crises; he has proven ability to foster positive relationships with patients, family members, physicians and other medical professionals. He is adept at collaborating on multidisciplinary teams. His core competencies are in crisis intervention; continue care planning, group facilitator/leader; violence prevention; case presentation, individual/group counseling, report generation, JCAHO standard/compliance, client assessment/ evaluation, document research/review and treatment analysis/planning.

 

Isaiah graduated B.S. Nursing from Northern Caribbean University, Mandeville, Jamaica in 1982, and M.A. Counseling Psychology from Eastern New Mexico University, Portales, New Mexico in 1986, and M.S. in Family Nurse Practitioner from Howard University, Washington, D.C. in 1994. He is board certified in Psychiatric and Mental Health Nurse/Practice and Advanced Cardiac Life Support. He has advanced training as nurse practitioner. He has held various positions such as Nurse Instructor at Comprehensive Health Academy, Washington, DC 2009, Howard University Teaching Hospital 1994-1996 and Facility Nursing Supervisor/Nursing Unit Manager at JB Johnson Nursing Center in Washington, D.C.

CITIWIDE Receives Grant From CYITC To Train 60 Youth Ages 18-21 In Nursing Assistant Program During The Summer Months (June 27 - August 5, 2011) - Under  The Mayor Gray's Summer Youth Employment Program:

The CitiWide Nursing Assistant/Health Aide Summer Training Program will encompass the core competencies in the nursing assistant curriculum including classroom instruction, clinical and internship practicum for 60 youth to become eligible to receive a certificate as a Home Health Aide at the end of the 6 weeks program.  In addition, integrated into classroom instruction will be soft skills lessons including basic computer literacy, basic interpersonal communication and decision-making skills, and professional etiquette. The program will operate Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.  Two sessions will be offered each day - 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Participants may elect which session to attend. Participants must meet the following requirements to enroll in the program: 1) Must be at least 18 years old; 2) Must present their 11th or 12th grade report card; or 3) a copy of their high school diploma.

CitiWide Announces Summer Youth Employment Program

(June 27-August 5, 2011)

 

The CitiWide Computer and Nursing Assistant Center's (CCNAC) Summer Youth Employment Program is designed to provide DC Youth ages 18-21 with computer technology training and healthcare work experience and the opportunity to develop job, financial literacy and life skills during the six weeks training program from June-August each year.  We are currently accepting applications: Citiwdie C&NAC Summer Youth Employment Progam Applications. Please fill out  the application form and email to info@mycitiwide.com.  Youth must be registered with DOES SYEP and must be 18-21 Years Old.
