Greetings!
Welcome ALL flower lovers! This Week we will introduce you to two different types of flowers: Daffodils and Stocks!
|
 |
Daffodil |
Daffodils, the flowers symbolising friendship, are one of the most popular flowers exclusively due to their unmatched beauty. This "trumpet" shape
contains the stamens and is the flower's most conspicuous feature. The
daffodil's popularity has resulted in the production of many varieties
differing from the yellow parent form mainly in colour; the trumpet and
petals may themselves be of contrasting yellow, white, pink, or orange. Where climate is moderate, Daffodils flourish among the first spring buds. Daffodils often bloom in clusters.
Due to it's isolating nature, daffodils do not work well with other flowers...this is why they are clustered with each other in bouquets or arrangements.
Daffodils were brought to Britain by the Romans who thought that the sap from Daffodils had healing powers. Actually the sap contains crystals that can irritate the skin.

Stock
|
Stock averages 6-10 blooms per stem. Each bloom
fully opens into a sweetly fragranced blossom. This delicate flower would add an elegant touch to a wedding bouquet, table
centerpiece or flower arrangement. These flowers are easy to design and require no special preparatory
work. Stock meaning is lasting love, lasting beauty, said to have grown
in Paradise, bonds of affection; you'll always be beautiful to me.
