Tulip
|
Perhaps best associated with Holland, tulips have a long, interesting history. Grown for years in Turkish gardens and used as a motif on Turkish ceramics, tulips were introduced to Europe in the mid-16th century. Tulipa, the tulip's genus name, is the Latinized version of "tulipam" or "tulbend," which means turban in Turkish ans was generally used to describe the tulips' shapes.

Menton Tulip
|
Soft and muted rose-pink tipped with light tangerine. Reminds us of ripe peaches. There is something sensual about this shade of pink. A very special
colour, not bright and not pale, just rich and fleshy. Blooms reliably,
is quite tall and overall rather tough, also in appearance, but will
not survive total neglect.

The Darwin Hybrid is one tallest type of tulips. With long stems and multi colours, it is suitable for hand-tied wedding bouquets. It is actually a cross between Darwin tulips and the Fosteriana.Examples are like Orange Bowl (orange and yellow), Pink Impression (pink), Queen of the Night (black), Elizabeth Arden (dark pink) and Cream Jewel (cream white).
